Very nice overall, but I do notice a quite intense red cast in the immediate region of the horsehead. Idk if it's a result of masking or gradients but just something that I thought could potentially be fixed.
Great dust color tho!
Thanks! So, in playing around, I think this is from inadequate background neutralization preceding a very aggressive stretch.
My first go arounds are typically a little funky. I do like how the red background value contributed to the dust color so I may run some protection masks on the dust to prevent the red from being white balanced out.
At least it is a smiling chef! To be transparent with you, the only thing I did to this was stretch the dog out of it. The hyperbolic stretch was even done with no increase in local intensity.
I think the fried look is slightly intrinsic to the Sharpstar HNT when it is stretched hard.
I don’t mean to say that it’s not a good image, I mean I could only dream of getting that much SNR!
All good! I do appreciate the comment. There are some things I have learned to do to try and manage this scopes quirks. I was mainly elaborating because I did not know much about how different this scope would be to process before I got it. I hope that I’m leaving some breadcrumbs so others might know what to expect!
Slightly different approach in the processing on this one.
Wow! Personally I like this version more, but I am by means an expert!
Dust is a bit yellow and the reds have been reduced a little too much imo
Maybe pixelmath 30% of the new process with 70% of the original.
Kind of a blend
Good idea! Here's a 50/50 blend. I kind of like this.
Looking nice!
Thanks a bunch!
that hit the mark
