see you in HOF
Wooooow, impressive.
This was broadband?
Yeah it’s IR & B. Then synthetic G
Is "synthetic green" when you combine the red and blue data into one layer and then make that merged layer 50% opacity and put it as your "green" channel?
Yup.
You have to derotate them to the same time and normalise on the ice cap first though.
No G filter
But yes, that too
Hey man don’t disregard G like that
Synthetic green wouldn't look the same as real green even with a proper red and blue filter.
Yeah G not getting the credit it deserves
In Tom’s case I understand why sG is preffered, or when you don’t have a G filter but you do have R and B, but if you have a filter wheel and a G filter then you might as well do a true G image imo
- I don’t have a G filter
- I don’t have a FW
- I’m hella seeing limited so the Synthetic route is sharper.
I do have the Uranus-C for OSC though when seeing is good
Also this comparison looks very oversaturated. This will amplify the apparent difference.
I might experiment with integrating some Uranus-C data into the sG channel next time 🤷♂️
In the case of dust storms
My point was to disagree with green being a waste of time if an imager has the means to use it. The comparison highlights that dust storms on Mars will look different since yellow isn't captured as well with synthetic green.
Gotcha
Is bro using Hubble?
Added Phobos
Do you orbit mars?
f/17.5 is crazy
Ok so where in America do you live because I will be moving into the same town
That seeing is NUTS
Not even joking lol
I've never seen such consistently good seeing conditions like you have
And I live in the UK.
Wait what? That's insane
I thought thr uk had bad seeing
