i already bought my eq5 pro and now i am in need of a scope with a focal length of around 250mm ish. I've been thinking of the Redcat 51, Askar SQA55, and the Svbony sv555. All three of them are petzval design APO but the Svbony sv555 are the cheapest at $560 (no shipping cost) while the SQA55 is at $800 (+$150 ish for import shipping) and the Redcat 51 at $900 (free shipping) which is a big price difference compared to the svbony. Is the svbony sv555 worth it for the lower price or im just better getting the SQA55? Have anybody tried the sv555?

Thanks

I would wait until there is reviews on this

#

The SVBony SV555 is a small telescope/lens with a 54mm aperture, 243mm focal length, and F4.5 focal ratio! Awesome to see such high performing alternatives to traditional scopes, especially with a (relatively) low price!

yea well both the sv555 and askar sqa55 are still new. So even if there are good reviews from the basically sponsored youtubers, that doesnt mean that all scopes they sell will perform as good as theirs did.

#

Redcat has been out for very long time and theres both great revies from the youtubers and the common astrophotographers.

#

Askar is built more like a lens for both astro and normal photography, which could cause issues (low chance).

#

Cuiv just now released a review on the askar

#

The Askar SQA55 is a small Petzval design astrograph that gets amazing star shapes across a full frame sensor... AND offers great mechanical and quality of life features on the scope itself. Let's look at the details!

and also. For the redcat the new WIFD system is really nice compared to the older versions.

#

And you can even find a refurbished redcat on william optics wbesite. And they go for much cheaper than new ones.

#

You can always just go on Astrobin and have a look on what these scopes can do. Or better what the people with these scopes can do, which is a good indicator of what you should be capable of when youre experienced enough

#

Also do your own research before buying. Look for reviews, not only from youtubers but also common people.

#

BUT. If you have the money for it, and dont mind taking small risk. I would go for the sqa55

#

thats just my personal opinion.

# grim harness Doesn’t matter

it does to me. Cuz theoretically speaking, they could have sent him the scope with better quality then whats on the market. If you know what I mean.

Typical marketing things

Oh, what I meant was, it doesn’t matter if they gave it to him for free if he can say whatever he wants or not
