This is my winter project: Sh2-224. So far, I’ve captured 20 hours of data, and I’m planning to gift this image to my wife for Valentine’s Day. To me, it looks more like a heart than a ‘Rice Hat’ 😄

I see the heart for sure, but I guess it's overshadowed by the Heart nebula in Cassiopeia so it had to be unique.

The Heart Nebula in Cassiopeia is easy to photograph—I can practically capture it in one night. This object, however, is much more challenging. On a 900s exposure in Ha, there’s barely anything visible, and in OIII or SII, it’s even fainter. I’m using 3nm filters, so very little light gets through.

Yep, rice hat is quite a task.

I'm waiting to step up filters before imaging it.

These 7nm's, among other issues, aren't the most efficient.
