Camera was a nikon zf, no filters used, postprocess was just cranking contrast to tune out the light pollution, exposure time was about 10 minutes. Tracking mount's a CGEMII I got used and tuned up.
send data and ill process
Data??
Oh, uh sure but that'll have to wait, I'm not at home rn, raws are on my desktop.
oh ok
nice orion but u got clipped whites
Oh, you mean how the core is just blown out glow?
Yeah, it is literally my first attempt and I was just happy that I got -anything-.
I was gunnu ask for data
thats really good for first attempt!
it took me 2 yearss to get a good orion pic
I spent a lot of time tuning the mount, honing in those darned ring gears and futzing with the mesh to get the backlash out.
I wanna re-attempt the shot but use my C8 instead next time, just to compare the two. I run both scopes side-by-side and try to enjoy visual in between exposures.
Also possum pics? 👀
Realizing this probably sounds wierd for "first pic", short version is I vastly over-thought and overdesigned my rig upfront and am only now realizing I made some silly decisions 🙃
Hokay, sorry for the delay. Appreciate any pointers, I am aware of a sad satellite track running through it. Another reason I wanna re-try this shot.
