Hello,
I am looking for a setup with which I can photograph both planets and deep sky. I currently have the Canon 800D (modified), SWSA2i and the Samyang 135mm f2. But now I want to see more through a larger focal length. I was thinking of the eq-6 myself because it is now the same price as the heq 5 and as a telescope Omegon Cassegrain Pro CC 154/1848. If anyone has better equipment please let me know.

8" newt + a harmonic drive mount or the eq6r would be a better option than a cassegrain
the long native focal length makes it much harder than you want for dso
@lofty grove a bit random but could I use a star tracker for my telescope it’s a skywatcher 130 reflector
I wouldn't put any kind of newt on star trackers
What if I got like a £100 refractor?
depends on the focal length
Would you mind taking this conversation somewhere else?
70mm
My bad
I myself don't trust harmonic mounts with big payloads, an 8" and the eq6r are perfect
I use my umi17 with an 8" newt with no counterweight when doing visual and w/ when imaging, it's flawless
