Very nice! Isn't that a great little Newt? Very sharp very stable collimation and very light.
Yeah! I’ve been loving it so much. I can’t wait to image Orion with the Carbonstar.
Nice image! I plan on getting the carbonstar once its back in stock, hopefully in late september according to high point XD
until then i wait impatiently
Get the primary mirror mask, it really helps reduce flaring
Thats the plan! also going to finally get an autofocuser lol
Reds are pleasing
Thanks! I had a hard time not pushing them even further, I had a lot of signal.
Here's another edit in HOO, I pushed the reds up a bit higher just to bring out the faint details.
Okay, I think I like this better.
Wow!! I like that version better too.
Great image, I dont want to burst any bubbles and I may be wrong but it looks like to me at least that the stars are slightly out of focus. But I be pixel peeping and I am super bad for that.
I seriously love the image though just thought I might as well point it out.
You’d be right, sadly… I was bummed. I think the focus was alright, but I believe my guide camera was loose and the cable tugged it occasionally. I had some bad subs, and even with some blinking/rejecting ended up with stars even BlurX couldn’t remedy.
The first process is way better in my opinion, melotte 15 (basically the pillars of creation from temu) is the staple of the heart neb for me
I was going to throw out the data, but when I saw the signal was so good I decided to go for it.
Thanks! I think I like both. The first feels more canonical, the second was more fun for me to process. Maybe I’ll upload the first revision to AB (the second one made the cut).
Here is the broadband version from earlier without the guide problems: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1281304243784912999/1281304249115869214/Heart.png?ex=66df2f92&is=66ddde12&hm=7f72885c678187108986cf6676f890d1060bba5257d37eee09370b38298747d4&
I want to use the stars from that night on this starless data
