I'm thinking about starting planetary photography with an actual camera. I'm just worried about it being untracked. Can you tell me how it is?
it's a huge pain to keep the planet in frame with your hands for 3 straight minutes but it's possible and you can get good results with determination 😂
Does registax have a mosaic mode?
the hardest thing is achieving focus. You have to use your hands to keep the planet in frame, AND turn the focus knob to get sharp focus while the planet is darting around the screen and shaking due to touching the scope
idk
What did you use to stack?
Pipp for preprocessing and autostakkert!4 to stack
Does autostakkert! have mosaic mode?
idk what you mean by mosaic mode
no I don't think so
Like it lines it up the frames if it's in other places on the screen
Lines up the frames*
Pipp has an auto stabilization feature that finds all the frames that contain the planet and moves the planet to the middle of the screen. That has nothing to do with mosaics but it sounds like what you're describing.
On deepskystacker they call it mosaic mode Idk why but ik what an actual mosaic is
Thank God for pipp
Autostakkert automatically places the planet in the center of each frame
