I want a Filter for broadband targets like reflection nebulae or dark nebulae and dust.
I’ve heared you can get all that with this filter and rub stars so should I buy it ?

The best filter for broadband is a uv/ir cut and a lot of integration

#

Every broadband filter will still cut some light that you want to keep

I have a modded one and a stock one

cloud inlet

Full spectrum or ha mod?

Spf something like taht i think

You can't magically remove led light pollution with a filter

mossy heron
#

So if you keep one of the 2 its useless i guess

Ha mod ok

4/5

cloud inlet
#

That's not bad, you should be able to capture them with enough integration

mossy heron
#

So does the ha mod "need" a filter

cloud inlet
#

Iirc no

Thanks mate

Or should I get some sort of luminance

#

Filter cuz I have a lxtreme

cloud inlet
#

Luminance and uv/ir are the same thing

shut oasis
#

Oh

#

So yea ?

cloud inlet
#

Nah

#

You have a dslr right?

shut oasis
#

Yea

#

Ha mod

cloud inlet
#

Then it's integrated

#

Even modded, same thing. With uv/ir you don't cut anything that wasn't cut already

shut oasis
#

Okay so should I just try longer subs and more integration time

cloud inlet
#

How long are you thinking? And have you tried already to shoot some dark nebulae to understand how much is visible?

shut oasis
#

Like I normally shoot iso 1600 or 3200 with one or two minute subs

#

And I haven’t really shot any dark nebulae but some more dusty parts

cloud inlet
#

I used to shoot iso 800, 3200 is way too much for sure

shut oasis
#

Okay

cloud inlet
#

I shot 3m subs to capture the iris nebula but Idk if it's ideal for a dslr

#

Due to the uncooled sensor
