wait what
wtf
alright i might aswell reprocess this later
ayy nice
btw to get the natural star color you gotta make the stars really green and run scnr on them
and then just saturate
bout this green
not too much but not too little
after scnr they will be pretty much white so you gotta saturate a lot
did u use curves to make them this green?
yep
alr imma try it
you can also play around with the green and blue after saturating because the stars might be yellow and cyan
for blue stars for example:
more green = more cyan, less green = darker blue
bro is megamind omds this is so smart
also for orange stars
more green = more yellow, less green = more pinkish
that was nerdy
i like the colours you produced, look very vibrant but natural
LMAOOO RIP
i wasnt paying atention grrr
i will pay my respects
lol im bored so here is the entire process of natural star colors
bro u should make a video on it it will go viral lmao
i wrote a script for repairing star color
oh fr? How much better?
@short dome heres my fairly mid process, hope you enjoy!
can you send it?
Bros got it figured out too
a lot better.
what exact benitifits does it have
i dont have web hosting yet :)
in denosier works only color denoise, i need to repair it
let me know if you loke my scripts
Its not "better" DBE has alot more control than GC so actually DBE has better odds of successfully removing gradients without damaging data than GC, not saying GC is bad, but saying its better is wrong
for me its better
Can just mean youre using DBE in the wrong ways (:
you know it depends how strong gradient you have
im just lazy :)
upload speed is in the dumpsters
Fair XD
another way its the graxpert, but its not that great for me
GraXpert is similar to DBE, but imo worse as again you dont have the same control
so red
graxpert makes weird color spots on background
deepfried to hell and back
how did you get that Oiii such a nice colour 🥲
actually nice but the oiii mask has not been blured
i had no oiii mask ☠️
no blue mask???
i was doing random crap in ps, dont remember doing any blue masks
shouldve prob processed this as a nb image with ha being seperate and then combining b + g for HOO in the end
ill do a hoo later
rah
ur internet speed is cookeeed
@eager tide nerd him look at his astrobin
im begging for fiber
at mine?
yea
yeah hoo makes more sense ☠️
im about to send a banger for people with no pix
for people who are lazy or don't have deepsnr here is the data with deepsnr applied and PCC
preview
why not just acdnr for color noise
and deepsnr takes care of the noise here anyway
much better
ay thanks man
im just gonna smack the hoo crescent on the existing process, i cba
how did you make stars so sharp
That’s really nice, nice reds! and bg
wdym thats just the data but denoised and color calibrated
☠️
mine too, it aint that bad
prolly one of ur scripts
what pixelmath command you use tho combine stars?
i use combine(star_mask,$T,op_screen())
h
or cook the shit out of crescent :)
that works lmao
not sure what to do about the white regions, kinda just have to leave em there

thats just how processing goes
omg the extracted luminance looks so good
think ill crop and and export as png now
lmao luminance being luminance
i posted somebody’s version on insta but forgot who’s it was
good one
skibidi
a tad purple, mabye pull back a bit on the blue?
nope since its 10:30 pm so its getting dark and i wanna do some visual sketching on m27 tonight
oooo nice
i gotta wait for my eyes do adapt to the dark tho of course
so that will take another say 15 minutes (atleast)
to fully adapt it will take like 30 minutes
yeah
definetly not astro dark but pretty dark
i don’t get astro dark this time of year so consider urself lucky
🧑🍳
i will say, this is nit picking but the oiii looks a bit too sharp, and it’s also affecting the stars. But that’s minor and u can replace the stars quickly if u want
lmao i saw that
stars?
Yea they look a bit clipped
oh yeah they definitely are, have been for a while
if you zoom on em it gets real bad but just dont
lol nice colours tho
cya
think i can set up tonight as well
as long as you dont zoom, everything is fine
i might be able to but im too tired icl
fk it imma setup
dont you get astronomical twilight all night, if so thats completely fine, its basically astrodark
pretty much, from 11:30pm to 3 am
but my setup eats into that
start earlier
sky no dark
you can easily begin in nautical twilight lol
clouds

reprocessed today
oo la la nice
Whoops missed this XD stretch blue with some green, if you only stretch blue you dont get the teal colour
@river cobalt
@short dome
wow thats strong, bg is a tad bit red and bright for my taste, but its a punchy process. How did you find the data?
I always go for punchy that's my style
As for what you're asking im not sure what you mean
was the data easy to process? Was it hard? Did you find any specific things difficult?
what software did you use?
Siril, lightroom, graxpert, photopea
Ah, nice man
Since you prefer less saturation here's an adjustment
the sat curve was fine it was the red curve that was a bit strong for me, possible push it down a bit? Thats my taste tho its ur proces
nah man sorry im gonna move onto other data sets here
im getting back into AP after almost a year and need to process again for practice
so gotta move through these
thats fine im not rlly asking u to do anything im just giving my opinion, have fun processing
some more ppl do this pls and thank u
yes pls
invert scnr but i have the rgb stars, gotta stack them tho
somewhere on my mini pc
i may or may have not forgot about this
lmao
Yeah same here
No discord made the forum disappear way faster than the rest of the forums I engaged with.
discord don’t like me fr
Yup
I didnt realize you could do invert SCNR on the stars and theyd come out nearly RGB
ive been pretty bad about keeping that Ha in the background even on my own data as of late
mostly because i feel that im having a hard time getting the contrast i want since the background here is actually fairly bright
I don't like it it's very noisy I'm sorry @short dome 😦
not too proud of this
bump
boop
Retry???
yesssss
this data does well at 100% bx btw, just gonna leave that here
fool me once shame on me
Ain’t no fooling, just was tired last night and don’t wanna give out a mid process
fool me twice shame on you
Doubt me once, shame on me
Doubt me twice, shame on you
@short dome
Ngl pretty happy with this process, crescent itself could be a little better, same with stars, but everything else is great
woah that that oiii looks so good
HOLY XHIT

Cygnus best constellation after Orion
starxed blurx deepsnr tif
my current process, thoughts?
I like it alot, but that OIII looks very dark
there isnt thast much o3 🤷
No not the stretching, the colour is dark
Ah okay, so push o3 brightness?
Brightness and maybe some G in there to make the blue more teal too
alr cool. anything else?
Nah I quite like it otherwise
cheers
bump
Hello. I am brand new to astrophotography, and this is the fifth edit that I've done. Any advice is appreciated
i like the natural look. What where the steps u did in your processing?
filter used ?
svbony sv220
Ty
backround extraction, color calibration, sharpen and denoise, then just curves
Yeah, it’s a neat trick
bumpy bump
I think I have to process this too just to make this the nb 1 #1021002743080558642 thread
@short dome
what do you say
lol na it’s not deserving
