If space is an issue or you don’t want to manually find the targets then the Virtuoso 150 is a great scope. You’ll need a good Barlow lens to see the planets clearly.

Bro I wish I'd buy the virtuoso model instead of the classic one, also flextube

# tulip loom Is this ok https://www.amazon.ca/SVBONY-Telescope-Blackened-Astronomical-Photogr...

I have the SvBony sv213 and it is good for the price, probably better than that one as it claims to be apochromatic instead of achromatic, which matters more with a 3x than 2x. I would recommend the sv213 over the one you posted, but note that with this scope you can also achieve maximum resolution with a 2x Barlow and a 5mm eyepiece (IIRC), so don’t feel you must get the strongest Barlow out there.

Might be cheaper on aliexpress than Amazon, depending on your import tariffs. Been a while since I lived in Canada but I remember that importing stuff suuucked.

With the eye piece

Yes. The eyepieces that come with it are average quality but quite usable. With the 10mm and no Barlow you’ll be able to see Jupiter and its 4 biggest moons or Saturn and its rings. With a Barlow you should just be able to make out some of the cloud bands on Jupiter. I haven’t been able to see much of Mars with my Heritage 150p. It looks bigger than a star but still pretty small. I wouldn’t attempt Mercury or Venus as they are too close to the sun. Globular clusters like M13 are great with this scope BTW.

I bought asi 585 for planetary and I really love it. Not sure if it counts as cheap. I think there are cameras using the same chip. You can quite easily add custom cooling to 585 one and it works great with dso as well

This is why you don't spend extra money for goto

Eh. I have the manual 150p and knowing what I do now I would 100% buy the virtuoso.

#

Although if I were to use it primarily for photography I would get a solid tube with better focuser.

Thats a bit different

#

You don't use the virtuoso for AP (to me AP means deepsky AP)

#

If you can't afford goto and you don't need it you don't have to get it

#

For planetarty photography and deepsky observing you don't need it

#

And for deepsky photography it's even a worse idea to buy

#

But ofc you can also save up and get a better cam in the future

#

I would just personally atleast have more aperture too
