bro fr thinks hes a spy satellite with that quality
Lmao how is that even possible
How do you tune the adc pre iss pass? Do u use a low alt star?
HOW
bro has some secret acess to nasas ground scopes
tom always makes us surpsied by his images
tom is gonna be the first person to image aliens for us
How do you track the ISS?
How do you focus an a satellite?
How??
OMG BRO HAS JWST AS HIS SCOPE
HOOOWWWW
MY GUY HOOOW
Aligned it on Polaris which was 51 degrees
yo i can see someone using his phone in the shot
pass max alt was 60 degrees
You are insane brother
Hats off
Turns out it was tuned nominally around ~45 altitude looking at the data & timestamps
thank you kindly
im on my knees rn
🗿🫂
tom can you adopt me so i can inherit your setup and knowledge?
Jaw dropped
Sat tracker, top of this page https://skywatcher.com/download/software/synscan-app/
this guy needs a nasa sponsorship
Ikr
Polaris, or any other mid-high altitude star before hand. Just gotta make sure the scope is cooled down to ambient so focus point doesn't change
Tom can I post it on Instagram? Do you use Instagram? So I can just @ you or else I have to write ur dc username
My jaw is ON THE FLOOR
oh my god OH MY GOD ALBERT EINSTEIN ALBERT EINSTEIN!!!!
https://www.instagram.com/tw.astrophotography/ I will post myself soonish with the timelapse. Just waiting on a friend to batch NoiseX the frames in pixinsight.
AWESOME
Thanks! So I can post it right?
sure with credit
Yes ofc
I say again, this man knows no boundaries, holy shit this is incredible. Genuinely might be the sharpest, most detailed image of the ISS taken with ground based equipment I've ever seen
YEAH
I've seen better from the likes of a planewave 24" which was ground based 🤏
still you are basically jwst but ground based
lol
its a bit smudged
yea its too wobbly
bro has a atom precise mount
That's good too, really good. But your most recent image not only has almost the same quality, but it has color too, and I think that really spikes up the overall quality and image appeal
True colour is nice
yee
Out of curiosity, have you ever photographed Uranus or Neptune using your god-tier seeing and equipment? Might be a dumb question but oh well
yes im curious too
So humble
voyager quality
for real, i respect that
makes me excited to have access to a 27” planewave this fall
Imaged them with Lyaphine in Germany with her 20". I'll try find my best with my 16"
1 sec
This was my 16"
Holy cow dude
I haven't really had good enough seeing/altitude on Neptune to get an equal result
it's still pretty low here at 51N
Honestly I'm genuinely so glad that amateurs like you and Lyaphine and every other beautiful talented person on this server exists, it's incredible seeing what can be done with amateur equipment
this is amazing
If only there was a spacewalk during the time he imaged it.
it's hard to say whether astronauts would actually be visible or not if that were to happen, the ISS is tiny in the night sky, but it's absolutely gargantuan compared to the size of a person
if visible at all, they'd probably appear as tiny misshapen dots surrounding the ISS
that'd still be ridiculously cool to capture though
Anim
amazing
It’s been done, and that’s pretty much exactly what it looks like but you can still tell that it is astronauts.
how big of a barlow do you have xd
