Not really the best image of not really talked about comet. Comet Olbers returns after nearly 70 years and its apparition is well... not the best. The comet lies about 2.2 AU from Earth and 1.4 AU from the Sun and it won't approach closer than 1.8 AU from Earth and will stay within 35 degrees from the Sun for the next months. Perihelion is the in end of June.
Comet Olbers is now the brightest comet in the sky, shining at around mag 8.5. It lies in the constellation of Auriga, not far from the flaming star nebula. In the photo a faint tail about 10 arcminutes long is visible.
Yesterday I went to a dark location with low western horizon. There was some moonlight and a breeze which the SA 2i didn't like.
