Also ur uncollimated
I think ur slightly out of focus, also uncollimated mirrors. Fix those and that scope will perform
i was slightly uncollimated and most of that weird blurring and stuff is from coma
i am not out of focus
no, that's coma
looks weird because of deconvulation or however that's called
Stars in center of fov are supposed to be pinpoint
so you see, if you are uncollimated the coma is in fact in the middle of the image
yeah
i did but then i accidently touched the like screws
it wasn't like locked in so it moved
Ah okay, well happens
it was 0:10 so i really didn't care at that point
extreme example of coma where the star is just out of focus
damn
And when stuff doesnt go as i expect i just give up
Sorry oofff i keep typing wrong shi
i actually have a coma corrector but i don't have the correct backfocus so a coma corrector makes the stars worse
Woa
i gotta buy some spacers
If i have to be honest, idk how or why but i never calculated any backfocus
I just knew that to reach focus w my Rc i needed 2 spaces, and those were the one i got on
I mean, were included so
So u basically can't reach focus that's whatchu saying
ah well i don't have any spacers so i have to buy them and actually calculate the backfocus
found the screenshot of the "worse stars"
Weird stars
on the right they look good but on the left..
Doesn‘t have to

Like, if your collimation is really shit, something like this can happen
If ur imaging tube tilts, literally isnt anymore perpendicular to ur secondary mirror, u get in certain parts of the image slightly traily stars
In ur case seems like yeah, uncollimated scope
Tilt is more or less like this
If u see on the left and right in front of u, in the image ofc, it's all good
If u move to the right, trails
I got tilt for sure hehe
@sacred parcel What coma corrector do you have?
beader mark iii
i don't remember the name exactly but it's something like that
baader?
Baader MPCC Mark III
yes
What gear did you use ?
Great image by the way @sacred parcel
thanks,
- skywatcher 150p,
- asi 585 mc,
- eq5 pro,
- sv165
- imx 224 for guiding
I also have an eq5 mount onsteped
How long each exposure?
Not the total time
ohh
180 seconds
sorry, read it wrong
tbh i think i should lower the exposure so i can possibly reduce the amount of satellite trails because there were a lot and also get better looking stars
No worries
Another question
Do you have any images that you took with the 585 and your scope without coma corrector
I also want to buy the same camera but not a coma corrector yet(i have a 130pds)
@sacred parcel
That might be a good idea..
I don't know if you can process them out though
That would be helpful
the image you just seen is without a coma corrector
if you look at any of my images they are without a coma corrector
i have a coma corrector but i need spacers do get the correct backfocus
there is no way to fully remove coma in processing unless it's some very slight coma which can be fixed or reduced by using bxt
blurxterminator to be exact
still having no coma in capturing is way better than fixing it using ai in post processing
Is the image cropped?
I am worried that coma will be a lot
yes but i was uncollimated which made the coma worse
Where can i find other images that you took?
And one last question
What rms do you usually get?
Thanks a lot
1" - 2" but that depends on your guiding gear
