noisy and dull pile of shit
its fine if you stand 10 meters away and wear someone elses glasses
it looks fine with my friends -8/-8 glasses
I thought your name said yummy heroin
it does
This would be a great image imo if I imaged it 😭
I dont think its nearly as bad as you say
first image w newtonian 💀
moon used to mean silver in alchemy so makes sense
Wdym looks fine
it’s so pale :/
M81 ea
Just get more integration and do a saturation stretch
Ive had 15 hours already. Need more?
Oh no that should be enough just do a color stretch/saturation stretch
Ran it through graxpert first yesterday and it turned yellow ish.
I prefer to leave graxpert after i have done my processing
I noticed it leaves significantly less artifacts doing it that way
Yeah.. kinda doing different workflows to see what it does.
Graxpert 🥀
Try processing it wo it
From my xp it always does smthng weird w the data
did that the first time. It came out as the hall of shame
Still just take your current data and do a saturation stretch
It will solve the color issue

And color calibrate
not me
i hope you get dropped as punishment for dropping occoma corrector
Drop yo ass
Karma?
yea!
Lucky it didn't crack
could be worse
😭
first ever process
||credits to: @compact geyser for the data||
and this is my second one
😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭
I hate it when every star in my galaxy goes supernova at the same time
This feels fitting here
It was my first attempt at lunar imaging and the stack did not go well
I used Autostakkert for the first time, not sure what the issue here is
if anyone has any ideas, please help :)
also this is the heavily compressed version, the big file is over 150MB
Turn off all image calibration settings(especially column noise reduction), drizzle is also a little weird
Then it should work
I didnt think i had any on, but ill give it another go
That did not improve it, but I do think I might have found teh problem
I think its a frame alignment issue
however, I need to be up for work in less than 8 hours so will be taking leave for the night lol
it can, send me the raw data lol

😭
i very much doubt this is sirils fault lol
Yeah it wasn't lol
I just learned what an offset is for
Needs more blue
do a print run asap🙏🙏
you appear to have some stars in your chromatic aberration
Spent 27 hours imaging this region in Ha, just to buy a new telescope before I finished the project😭 💔
Buying new equipment is the worst, you instantly feel like all of the data you've gathered so far is useless
oh my god bruh
what
Bro took a picture of hell itself
i think i was messing around with curves and accidentally saved that
Bro generated his own HA data
don't let anybody tell you you can't shoot jupiter at 500mm full frame
you can't shoot jupiter at 500mm full frame
you can't shoot jupiter full frame at 500mm
but... the banding.... alright you can't 😩
can shoot saturn at 55
ong i got the rings on a 55mm lens
i did 400mm
i have seen incredibly better results than mine with photo lenses, how did yours turn out?
not terible
not bad yea, much more contrast
i was curious

Test of my new scope (held the phone up to the eyepiece l way to image gotta stary imaging with the canon 600d )
Imaging DSOs?
Oh no my steak is too juicy and my lobster too buttery
Like how is that an issue just keep on using your old setup
Show proof
do you even count this lmao
yes
first EVER astrophoto
Had to downsize when I moved to university. That’s why I bought a rokinon 135 and had to move on from my zenithstar 61.
Same thing happened to my mount, and I went from an heq5 pro to a umi 17 r
You could still use that
Fair
huh?
how is the zenithstar 61 too big?
Other factors, really. Being at university meant I had limited time for imaging, so f/2.8 was a lifesaver. And while I probably could have gotten away with the Z61, I only had a small desk for my personal items in a room already shared with two other people. The Rokinon was considerably smaller than the Z61 with the flattener and draw tube extended.
Though I get why you’d think sticking with the Z61 would have been fine.
great dust spot
Ty its a new discovery
a lot of dust
all in your mind
I might attempt some glitch art like this tonight
you reminded me about people drawing with their mount, maybe try that
That is quite impressive.
From an artistic point, interesting.
From the standpoint of astrophotography, it's impressive for all the wrong reasons.
Vro took a photo of blood cells 💔😭
Rained
rip to ur electronics
I checked
Everything is fine
Mount works
Canera idk, couldn’t test it out but should also work
Laptop had a blanket on so it didn’t get rain
You tried to wipe it with a towel or something?
i didnt
there were small purple stains from isopropanyl when i first cleaned it, they dissapeared but it seems like they become visible when it is wet
Not really if it's turned off there is a 99% chance of survival
true accualy
false :(
Well you gotta clean and dry it
Afterwards otherwise there could still be moisture trapped or corrosion that causes a short circuit and kills your electronics
corrosion doesn't even need to short it :(
corrosion just makes everything shitty
Corrosion can still kill your electronics both via short circuit or by stopping a circuit, depending what corroded
arent oxides an ionic bond?
Not the main reason it breaks electronics, it's mostly by eating away thin wiring, or build up of higher resistant material, or if the corrosion ends up contacting two wires at the same time
if its an ionic bond it cannot conduct electricity without being in a liquid or as a liquid solution
and an ionic bond is between a metal and a non metal
so it doesnt make sense
also i know that it breaking traces is the main reason it stops stuff working
thats why i said what i said
(false was to the claim that it being off gives it a 99% survival chance)
It being off helps reduce the likelihood of damage tho
Helps against active short circuits
yea but it being off still has a very high chance of it breaking
True but if the electronics are somewhat enclosed (like an eaf), it's not unreasonable to claim that there's less chance for damage
Also rain is an extremely poor conductor of electricity due to a lack of dissolved minerals while something like tap water or river water are far better conductors while ocean water will almost always kill your electronics
So if you clean it in a timely manner and if it's turned off there is a 99% chance of it surviving
false
still false
its got a 100% chance of not being a 99% chance
Buddy i literally dropped my head phones into a creek and they survived
Short term exposure doesn't yield the same amount of damage as long term exposure
thats true yeah but 99% is very very very generous
They survived because i turned it off the second it hit the water and left it in the sun to dry then once i got home i opened it up and cleaned it with isopropyl keep in my my headphones have zero water protection
im just saying its not 99%
Have you guys not been reading anything I've been saying
my headphones survived me listening to music underwater

Bro doesn't get hyperbolies
Bro I'm trying to say short term exposure in the rain won't ruin ur shi 😭
What did i just say "timely manner"
it was left like all night

But did it rain all night probably not
water is still water
any water that got in during the rain doesnt just dissapear
its a light bucket gone water bucket
im gunna guess it was like 2-3 or something when ur not awake to save ur scope
so it gets left like 4 hours before you notice
could be wrong
I don't take any risk of rain before a time I'm not willing to wake up at 😭
If it rain near morning then less exposure
tbh i dont even set up if it says it will be cloudy at all
Clouds for an hour or so anytime during the night is fine, I just add a reslew to target instruction after the forecasted clouds
Denoise in sirli does NOT work 😭
nah trust thats the true signal we've all been missing out on
please don't add mold to your images
i left sirli open for to long so it got moldy
I love the Pleiades Penicillium star cluster
What did you do before you attempted to denoise?
I found that color matrix transforms cause the denoise to do this
(You might also want to put this in #1220109001682059275)
The denoising already in siril is for mono data only
uh...it works on color data?
I mean you can denoise the channels independently and see if that works
No, this is the built-in NL-Bayes denoise
Interesting
you can make it work for colour!!!!!!
(The artifacts are definitely ones I've seen from NL-Bayes)
If you Bayer drizzled ive thought
its from the remove salt and pepper noise
remove salt and pepper noise used to do that to me
Ohhhh
telllllllllllllllllllll me about it
Oh my goodness😭
Imaged the rainbow at night.
this is freaking great wdym
Aight mister what happened
this just looks kinda neat
Background extraction 🙈
why is it rotated lmfao
idk
Bro imaged sideways
try not to take an image of jupiter with the right rotation challenge impossible
i took it with an iphone and i had to rotate it to get the longest way for jupiter to travel through the FOV 😭

andromeda galaxy?
It was
This is what happens when you put ur laptop in the microwave during processing
yes 😔
imaged the sun at night
what the actual hell
Ah so that's the trick! Don't need a solar filter to look at the sun safely, just do it at night when it's darker
(for legal reasons, don't)
wow that telescope's got quite a long focal length
thought i was on a different server with the same channel name rip
huge fl
true love beam
This is good dataset!
