Well, of course. But knowing that it's only a rollercoaster is what makes it fun. It's not gonna kill you, nor will you be stuck on it forever until it eventually does kill you.

Maybe it's just me, but if presented with a daunting, scary, perhaps unknown experience, I'm fully down for it and open to ideas as long as my safety/wellbeing is a guarantee. Literally as long as I'm promised that I'm going to be fine, and there's not a chance of anything going wrong, I'd be completely comfortable doing some pretty sketchy things.

It's why we as humans do anything that's dangerous or insane, or just new even. We like dangerous things, it's in our blood. Explosions, natural disasters, weapons of war and destruction, powerful predatory animals, the dangers of exploring unknown or unsafe locations like the ocean or caves, our species is wrought with a curiosity for all that can annihilate us.

It's knowing that your safety is guaranteed when it comes to these things, that makes it incredibly fun and invigorating. Admittedly, I wouldn't want to take a huge risk like this if there was a significant enough chance that I wouldn't make it. So, take for instance caving accidents, or the recent events at OceanGate. Those were sketchy and dumb examples of humans being curious and taking too big of a risk. That, I wouldn't want to participate in.

But, granted my safety was absolutely guaranteed, and that I would get out of whatever ridiculous scenario I'm in alive and well, I'd love to experience anything this insane universe has to offer, even if only for a little bit.

Sure it would be an incredible spectacle of quite literally astronomical proportions, but it would be sad to look up into the night sky for the rest of our days, and not see Betelgeuse ever again.
