While the FOV of a WO redcat 51 and 585MC is very similar as an 8" F/3 newt with a 2600MC/MM, the bigger setup simply has more resolution and better SNR.

That's literally what I'm comparing the two setups with. But size and weight is not the only factor here. The redcat (and refractors in general) are overall easy to use, while newtonians, especially fast ones (like f/4 and f/3) require much more fiddling around to get right, and not just collimation...

Like I know there are a lot of people who's only choice is to get a small or smallish refractor, I'm just saying that bigger is objectively better from an image quality stand point.

I additionally made an equation that predicts where a sensor-focal length combination will land on my chart. "ax=(3/2)2^y" where "a" is the magnification, given that when the focal length=sensor diagonal, the magnification is 1,5

remember that the "y" (focal length) scale is exponential, while the "x" (sensor diagonal) is linear, so as in the screenshot, with a magnification of 200 and let's say a 585MC (~13mm diagonal) the fl should be ~2^10.7, or around 1600mm focal length.
