The Pinwheel Galaxy is home to one trillion stars! At ~170klys wide, it is about twice the diameter of our Milky Way galaxy. Interactions with nearby galaxies (some of which can be seen in this image) have contributed to its asymmetrical grand-design spiral shape.

It's been a few months since I last imaged this during the supernova event. I'm not sure if I can see it in this image (maybe if I zoom in) but could just be another star. I encountered some trouble during capturing including light leaks, and my batteries gave up a bit too early in the cold (I have to drive out for all of my images). I hope to be able to try this target again, with more integration time and adding some narrowband Ha.

Super crisp and detailed when you zoom in, this looks awesome!
