Has been snowing here for the past few days and I was getting bored so decided to reprocess some old data using the new tools now available to us. This data is from 2018 and was shot using a Nikon D810A on an Esprit 100 from a dark site. This is approximately 4 hours of data. At this stage I was still learning and hadn't figured out that I should spend more time on targets. I was locked into quantity versus quality. Now I like to get ~20 hours per target if I can. Big difference. These were 5 minute exposures at ISO 800.

Super neat image, and certainly not bad for old data! The dark filaments stick out nicely, and the sharpness as you zoom in stays pretty good without too much loss in quality. The different colors throughout the image are nice too, from the reds and magentas of the nebulae, the yellows and blues of the varying stars, all of it is gorgeous.
Thank you. This remains one of my favourite images to date because of all the colours.
Its a shame the trunk isnt done in BB more, its much nicer than NB.
I feel the same, I wonder if I could combine LRGB and SHO data for a nice dusty composite
I agree. I like LRGB and my previous OSC images a lot more than most of targets I've done with NB...but I also like NB too. It's a win, win...🙂
