#Is it possible to salvage my M81 (Red) from bortle 9 (light leaks or something - not exactly sure)

hello, what do you mean by salvage, this is a mono image. wiht no filter, at least not in the fits header. You mean this is the red channel for the image you were doing ?
data looks decent
My mistake. This is red channel data on mono camera 294mm. There is a light leak or something around the galaxy. I was wondering if something could be done about that white halo thing
I did not use a separate light pollution filter
You can’t salvage this in processing beyond some manual masking in PS.
Best to fix the problem now and reshoot
I can fix her
(Me to every mentally deranged girl I've ever met)
Thank you @wintry ledge. I have identified and fixed light leak coming from reducer by coating outside of both ends of reducer extremely carefully and the adapter that connects from EDGE HD 8 to Camera with Musou black and the problem disappeared. I am actually very happy because I was floundered by this problem for 2 years and have only been working with Ha and Oiii filters on my EDGE.
Attached is the Needle Galaxy and M81 with Red filter/spectrum (2 hours each with Moon). I need to work on backfocus and flats slightly
Looks great!
