First Telescope

Hi
I'm finally buying my first Telescope and decided on 8-inch DOB Since I'm looking forward to Visual Astronomy.
I've two models in my sight.

I'm from India so not many options so looking for help & input.

I dont have any experience with these scopes in perticular but i believe the bressier one would be easier to move since it has large altitube (up and down) bearings

I would go for the GSO though cause it a lot cheaper

I have a the skywatcher version of this scope, can confirm it's very good to use for amateurs. Here are some of the photos I've taken with the skywatcher 127mm Maksutov and a 3x Celestron barlow

Saturn is without barlow, it was digital zoom

Focal length of the 127mm Maksutov from skywatcher is 1500mm

This particular model also has tracking so it will keep your object nice and central in the eyepiece

I have the bresser one, I've never touched another dob so I can't tell you if it's good or not

I would agree that dob is better since it’s fun trying to find targets yourself and plus the dobsonian has a bigger mirror meaning the DSO will be brighter.

Yeah give up goto for bigger aperture

But DOB not good at all for Astrophotography, right?
In future If I wanna enter that segment I'll have to but new Tele & mount.

that's my thought.

I'll most likely get a dob if is that's the way to go about it

But you wouldn't want an alt-az for astrophotography anyways

So doesn't matter

For planetary a mount isn't necesarry

Yeah it is pretty good.but if you are a beginner I would recommend something like a telescope with focal length of less than 1000mm(If you don’t have experience of manual focusing).I THINK WOULD BE A GOOD CHOICE TO START WITH.

But the actual telescope you want to buy is pretty good.I would’ve bought this telescope already if I were at your place.Nice decision buying it👍👍

Yes.

But you can't reallly find an 8" with 1000 or less mm for cheap

You can also buy a goto dob telescope if you want to keep it for a long term in use.But if you are starting out,budget matters.I have already made a mistake buying my first telescope(f36050 something).Please take some time,think,take advice and go for a budget telescope first.Start from an alt-az because it’s very handy.

@ashen idol Tell me your budget and will recommend the good telescope at the price point(except for astromasters and powerseekers obviously😏😏

Actually a scope named dwarf 2 is the best because:1) it has a very compact size,2)easy to set up,3)built in tracking,4)builtin camera,5)built in stacking and 6)it has a focal length of more than 700mm which is good.How about that?

There are no fun and challenges in that like a real Astrophotography telescope gives you.Isn’t it?

can go upto $1000 if can get something really good which also allows me beginner Astrophotography.

Hey nate,don’t go for an equatorial mount for now.Buy a manual Dobsonian or alt-az mount for the beginning.
