this is sick ngl!
Thank you 🙂
What’s the cam and control?
ASI533 MC Pro, Edge HD 8 with reducer, ASI174 MM guide camera through the Celestron OAG all run by the ASIAir. On the AM5 mount 🙂
Ah I have similar, 533MM, Celestron OAG, 174MM, AM5, ASIAIR plus. I suffered camera disconnects… turned out to be indequate wattage psu, cable connections. Added elastic bands to maintain positive pressure and upped wattage of psu. Solved issues… great image btw
Interesting! I have an EcoFlow battery that I plug into the AM5 and then pass that up to the ASIAIR to distribute the power. Frustrating that it happens. I’ve noticed fewer issues when my power draw was higher (celestron heater ring was at 45% but caused star issues). I’ll tinker some more and see what I can finagle! Thank you very much for your compliment! 🙂
Ah yeah I don’t do that, had issues. I Direct feed the cam, ASIAIR and mount from the psu. Adding more copper is safer when dealing with low voltage dc. Mounted a hub on the scope for data dist but that’s about it. I keep the ASIAIR on the leg of the Tri-pier. It works better all round for my rig. No disconnects since switching to this arrangement.
Duly noted! I wanted to minimize the number of cables I had “moving” to prevent issues with cable snags and what not but I may need to do this too. Mind sharing what hub you’re using and what not ? 🙂
Keeping cables routed along the axis of rotation is easy to do and keeps movement and any induced vibration isolated. Elastic strain relief prevents problems if scope rotates out of normal deviations.
Can send pics of what I’ve done at later date
Yes please that would be great. I have quite the cluster of cables right now. Only been doing this hobby for a couple months so still learning 🤣 appreciate the feedback!!
Haven’t got the Askari V too? I mention it as I additional to the Mewlon have the Tak60/76 combo, which inspired this scope. I’ve not really utilised it for AP so interested highly in this scope
