did you apply the flats to your stack? doesn't look like it
I tried, haven't been able to get much out of it, maybe someone with actual skill can show how it's done.
Same, I’m rlly rlly bad at processing tbh
But your process isn’t bad tho, the stars are pretty sharp and I like the core
I feel like there is not much information in the data and it doesn't look calibrated. I'm used to astrocam data, I'm sure someone with dslr processing skills can do much better
Alr
what did you get out of it
I could try re stacking when I take darks and buss frames tho
Somethings scary, lemme go find it
you say you took flats, but there are lots of dust spots in the stack, so either something went wrong with the flats or they haven't been use to calibrate the stack
I put them in dss tho
And I took them the same morning as I shot
I always mistake dss for autostakkert lol
so you used autostakkert or dss? xD
As I said, scary
Dss
Dustlanes come out much nicer tho
On mine?
ye
But the dbe

dslr data is super hard to work with, been there done that xD
Lol
It looks like I rlly need bias frames
I’ll take some after school and change out the stacked file in here for the one with bias
Wait, can I just use old biases I have?
I got some for my dumbbell neb iirc and I shot that like a month or two ago
Usually you can use bias for a few month
But it ain't a bias issue, it's a flat issue
bias only cancel out hotpixels and noisepatterns, you got dustspots

thats probs why
@thin smelt and @rich harness im re stackig with the flats in the right olace cuz the other file i sent didnt use my flats
lmao i just did a back ground extraction and theres no dust spots so i actually had my flats in the lights section lmaoooo
i gotta learn how to dbe
OMG
NOOO LMAO
I'll try processing the one with proper flatting
Okay but
This is awesome
❤️❤️

My main concern is the lack of signal
because B8 is sad

But still, this data looks quite
and
I fixed it
^^
yeah im not the best with dbe's
i added a little blue, then sat'ed the galaxy some more
Aponed zooming in I found you wet a little over board on the denoising, mind fixing that a little
I’ll show you what I mean
what about them
Looks a little to de noises
the stars?
Galaxy denoised
i dont see the problem
A little too high?
huh
See how this one looks sharper?
Sorry for ping
Then what caused the blur?
the brightness of the galaxy
his galaxy looks dimmer, that looks sharper
for andromeda, i mostly go by structure, its side-on so i cant get as many bands
It just looks like you denoised the image to much tbh
@zenith hill what do you think?
It looks a little too flat tbh
Usually with fits from an astrocam, denoise x does a perfect job at getting rid of noise with leaving all the details alone. I noticed with this stack, denoise x has been very destructive to the details.
So I masked the galaxy and applied little denoise
I guess the tiff doesn‘t provide enough information for the tool to work properly
not terrible but yeah the denoise
Damn
@thin smelt another reason why astrocameras are better than DSLR
I can try to send the raw file if you guys want? It would mean that you would have to stack them
went light on the denosing of andomreda
Already much better tbh
I’ll go do some personal adjustments to it alr
Great shot tho
I wanna see this
Saving for soon
yay!
so far
its nice data
gyyyat
thx
here is the tiff if you want https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LoqDZy1wrn0tR3-oFMY7Eges7onvX7mN/view?usp=drivesdk
@errant cliff
@zenith hill did you get anything out of it?
honestly, nope :p
Sadge
@stiff fog
ohhh, nice job
yo, you got a starless by chance?
I think you went a little to hard on the denoising tho, just me?
Ye abit
You able to take it down or is it a little to late?
Probably. Need to see if my pix is still running. Checking when im home
Alse the PNG came out abit brighter than the preview
sorting that out too
Alr, cool
@stiff fog some tweaks. cba to do any more 😛
i undid the denoise on over the galaxy and did some contrast curves
cool
@stiff fog
Nice
gonna throw in mine too
Yours' colors look nicer
Thank you
Ye, i quite like the colours
I mean, everyone here did a amazing job and thank you all for processing this image for me

My process using Siril and GIMP. I did not bother to deal with the stars much though.
