Yeah, more or less. Some drift, but no need to make major changes to the position of your scope for 40 minutes or so is very helpful.

An EQ platform won’t really help you take pictures of the moon because your exposures will be so short it won’t make a difference. It will be less annoying for visual because your target won’t keep drifting out of view.

i mean i was hoping i could be able to take some good pictures of the moon with my dob by using an eq platform

You just dont need it, the moon is bright, you don’t need long exposures.

DSOs however, you can just about achieve. Still not fun though.
