As a guide camera, it'll do - though you may be able to find the exact same sensor for cheaper.
Its got the same sensor as the SV305, which I own and got for a lower cost ( ZWO just seems to be more expensive ).

SV305 has the IMX290 sensor, ASI120MM has an AR0130. 290 is a better sensor in general but the AR0130 has fewer, bigger pixels.
