Just fooling around with some old RGB data and some afterthought Ha (50 x180sec) and Oiii (21x180sec) I took on M31 after my main target acquisition this past August (Eastern Veil). Results OK seems OK given the Ha / Oiii were shoot only a bit before dawn on a few August mornings.... Will upload the Ha / Oiii data to the BAT but looking for a few more good nights to aggregate a better shot count prior to uploading....

@fallow mortar could you share the data? ive been practicing how to add NB to RGB and think thisll be a good test (:

See links to Google Drive. I too have been practicing with PixInsight learning how to align, integrate images of different size, resolution, as well as broadband / narrowband. Anyways, I needed to re-build this a bit as I tossed the original processed data after generating the PNG noted above to save precious hard drive space. Not sure which M31 RGB I used from this morning. I have a quite a few and they aren't labeled too well - but for practice it shouldn't matter. That said, I aligned the images for you as its very easy to do in PixInsight as I was unsure if you have PixInsight or not.... From here you should be able to integrate the images easily. So have at it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1A-pcCwZNJvFqTE85VzVgKtAJUHYsJkXt/view?usp=drive_link, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h2R8NQL3j-jCSxR1m67dY0S0IO31WR_u/view?usp=drive_link, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U6TlTKOGZZThSxx7CyQ8obCgVbYii9Gs/view?usp=drive_link

Thank you very much! thanks for aligning too, aligning is fairly simple with StarAlignment or DynamicAlignmnet, will auto put the resolution down to match one another, i just wanted some good data that isnt the BATs data, that ive been using alot recently with, IC 5146, M106, M81-82 just for adding NB to RGB using this method https://www.nightphotons.com/guides/advanced-narrowband-combination which has proven so far to be unbelievably good
Night Photons
Background Narrowband and Broadband are often thought of as completely independent fields of astrophotography; generally, for this reason, a target will be imaged in either one or the other, but this is far from the true reality of the situation. Nearly every target in the sky has some component of
And yeah i do use pixinsight, Thanks for the data! ill let you know when its done (:
Got it. Trying to improve myself. Love the Internet - lots of good feedback out there. Will bookmark these !
My original experience back in the day was with just DDS and GIMP. While I am sure a "pro" at GIMP could get everything out of it, I found the switch to PixInsight to be worth my while real quick. I love the community that was glocked around it. So much 3rd party support and educational feedback on the internet and Youtube....
This is what I was able to do with it.
Using continuum subtraction makes the core not so red and only enhances the Ha/Oiii regions.
I haven't heard to of - so thankyou to both of you. Its cloudy, so more material to read after pasta and beer. Anyways, I will be shooting a lot of shots on M31, weather permitting, over the next few weeks. I will report back with hopefully 24+ hrs of data and share....
