Sorry in advance, I'm sure you get these kind of posts all the time.

I'm not new to astronomy, but I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to astrophotography. I have a great telescope for planetary viewing, but I want to do deep sky object photography. It sounds like I need to put together a rig with a camera, mount, telescope and tracker. I already have a canon 2000d, so I'm hoping to use that. Is it feasible to put something like this together for under 1000?

I've been reading up on what I could get but I've had a hard time making sense of what gear is good, prices, and what might be compatible with my camera. Thanks for reading!

What's your budget?

Oo yeah @digital jetty

#

You should invest first in a good mount

#

Then depending on what you have left a reflector or ed refractor

#

For the beginning you should stay at low magnification

@little peak can you buy used stuff?

Most of the time they are kept in very good condition
Just ask and see for any damages

Used stuff is definitely fine

#

Do you have any mount recommendations?

I have the az gti but i am not completely satisfied
Others recommend eqm35 or heq5

Used eq5 pros are often a good buy

1000 is honestly a bit short to get a proper rig going

#

If ur gonna buy an eq 5 pro ur gonna have to use a camera lens

eq5 pro cant handle that much probably

#

i would go for at least a eq6r

I use an eq5 pro and it carries my 8 inch sct just fine though if you don't want to tune it then I think I wouldn't go above 6 inches. It can definitely take more than a lens.
