Are you using local histogram equalization?
I’m not really aware of what that is. I also don’t have ps because I’m a cheapo . I only use Siri for most of my images.
ahhh it is a pixinsight process, its basically structure enhancement and things can get out of hand quickly if it isnt used moderately
I’ll look at this later when I’m home
sounds good
Hi, here are some versions using a fairly basic workflow in PixInsight
Is there any way to give the image a SHO type look?
Possibly. Was this imaged using a OSC and dual band filter (Ha+OIII)? I've found that it can be difficult to get a synthetic SHO approach to work sometimes for this kind of data. This was just a regular process using all 3 channels as is (R=R, G=G, B=B).
Threw away the blue channel and got this, which is slightly more SHOish.
Pixelmath in pixinsight can give sick results. Lukamatico has a complete video tutorial on it.
Also SiriL as well
These look pretty nice. Do you think I should get an Sii filter and gather some data from that to get a better looking SHO, or would have to buy seperate filters with a mono camera. Currently I have an OSC with a dual narrowband.
I did some osc and dual band + sii work
Sii is super faint lol. It turned my images around though
14 hrs dual band , 9.5 hrs Optolong SII with 533mc
Got a couple other friends on the wave too
Had to do 600s subs for both, the signal diff between dual band and sii is insane
Friend did a slightly better edit than me but yeah same …
This is one of my friends I got into sho osc imaging
I've been thinking about switching to mono for a while, but there's also an option to shoot some SII through an OSC and add that to the dual band data, I might give that a go first
I did that and it made me switch to monochrome
But I definitely did not hate sii and dual band. I actually kept that same sii from osc to mono until I upgraded later down the road
trying myself in Gimp. How did you get your Image so blue, yellow. My Data is just red
