Hello all, as you alr red, i need your data to test Astro pixel processor, it wont be published under my name or anything. I struggle to find unstacked files (fits/tiff or cr2), im deleting mine after processing because i dont had enough storage on my drive.
Im aware it probably takes a while to upload but would be really greatfull as there is no clear sky for me since weeks and no to come!

they do have coma and some sattelite trails but apart from that its pretty good

can you send the M81 Data? they all look really good! Never imaged Galaxies apart from M31, did you use a dnb filter?

Yeah i will soon! I cant image nebulae or anything really big as my only scope is a C8 XD Unfiltered modded DSLR B5-6

Uhh M81 was 4m subs M82 was 7m subs M63 M106 and M51 was 5m subs

so 240s 300s 420s

I remember back a year ago, i wanted really to image M31 so i threw the rig outside at 23Pm and kept it going for a few hrs, but thats it, never done any calibration frames, so all i had was a bare image, still turned out good

that was my last time on a galaxy but probably will try again in a few months when its summer

I Upload the Stacked image, have to learn a bit on Galaxy processing :/ Decided to remove the stars, can patch up the resedue after editing

Hmm maybe try PhotometricColourCalibration in Siril and some hue shifting in gimp should help

Yeah i definitely think a PCC before removing stars etc will help alot in getting colours you want

or use a preview straight down the middle and then apply a normal colour calibration

that also can work with good results

@tawdry wadi Heres a very short process (: Id recommend if possible doing a autostretch before removing stars to stop artifacts like there are here, they are removable but i wanted to show a purely pixinsight process so no siril, photoshop etc

Its far from perfect but thats what happens with a 10m process in pix XD

Will remove the stars after an stretch but not sure if itll work

In pix i did a Background Neutralisation and Colour Calibration then Dynamic background extraction, tried out Jon Ristas Denoising technique then some stretching and for colours i split the channels and did a LinearFit using the B channel as reference and applied it to the G and R channels, then channelcombination to put it back into a RGB image then some Deconvolution, saturation and some Black pointing to help with the bg a bit more and thats about it

Nice, i still have to learn so many things ... fr for most nebula streching and backgroundextraction is pretty much all you need and a bit denoise and hue but with galaxies its an whole different process ...

Also i have 0 experience with splitting channels but its so important ...

Galaxies usually a PCC works really well although doesnt give me quite perfect colours so i channelspilt and LinearFit just to put them exactly how i want! Masks are also very very important in Pix

If not i can see what i can get with Siril/gimp to see what i do there to get colours

@tawdry wadi Heres with Siril and Gimp lol 90% of stretching was siril with a Background extraction aswell then to gimp i used the colour balance option then changed it from Midtones to Shadows then messed with it slightly

My background isnt great but the colours are there

It was about 3 - 4 h on m42, had much more but my Laptop was to weak to process it...

Nice, did you crop it? My process was way narrower and i feel it was a bit unnatural

(Had to crop it because of the dustspots)

I feel like i should have taken way more shorter exposures for the core

It was slightly cropped for stacking artifacts but the dust spots I fix in photoshop with Spot healing tool (: my core was awful I forgot to process it properly for a HDR sorta core
