Guiding on an AZ-GTi

Alright, I previously got some information on how to guide with the AZ-GTi in the eq mode. Although I'll need some explanation about what I need to do it.

At the moment I have the guidescope and the guidecamera. I am able to control my mount via wifi over my pc/smartphone. I saw that I would be able to plug the st4-cable into the handcontroller port.

Someone said that I need an eqmod-cable but I dont really know why. Accept for this eqmod-cable, what else would I need?

you need both mount and guide camera connected to a pc, then you need phd2 and a software like nina to control the mount

or at least that's what I use

How do I connect the guidecamera and the pc to the mount?

would it work like that:
guide camera <- st4-cable -> hand controller port
computer <- wifi -> mount

Alright, I‘ll do it that way but just for me to know, how will the guide camera be connected to the mount if I just connect it to my pc?

Phd2 is connected at the same time to both the guide cam and the mount to issue corrections

Oh so thats why I‘ll need nina with either one of these softwares

But how does the mount connect with the computer? Because Cuiv said something about the wifi not being good enough

You can still try to start using the mount wifi, it's less ideal and you can't remote into the pc but better than nothing

@remote garden I tried to set up guiding but because I dont have an eqmod cable (yet) I‘m not able to do anything quiv does. Would I be able to guide without GSS, NINA and EQMOD? (Just the synscan app + phd2 + ascom)

You can use nina and phd2 but instead of connecting via gss you connect with the synscan app on nina
