i dont have a dedicated camera, only my iphone
ok if you dont have a camera that puts you in a tough spot
i mean you want relatively high focal length for planets and galaxies, so that helps
oh if you arent focused on photography that makes it way easier
get a skywatcher heritage 150p
thank you, ill look into it!
it can be used for photography if you choose to get a camera later, but there would be some challenges
and with your phone youll be able to do some basic planetary astrophotography
Heritage 150p yes
How much do you want to spend on the camera?
Oh damn ok, deep sky or planetary?
Ok then the best you can do is the player one Uranus C. Best planetary cam out there, pretty good for deep sky too
And since that’s on the low end of your budget you should get the cooling system with it
Yes
Looks hot
The ASI585MC is similar if you want to use asi air
But if you don’t need zwo products then the uranus c is better
I will definitely look into it, most likely I get it
I’m still trying figure out if I want buy anymore eye piece
I bought 8-24 mm
Good. It’s a great camera to keep around, although keep in mind that for deep space you will want a different camera eventually
Once you want to upgrade, the ASI533MC is a very good option
Actually that telescope is great, the mount is the part you’re going to want to change
No it will work fine, it’s just that the mount as a whole isn’t the best build quality
I see, I do appreciate this information. What would be a good suggestion for mount ?
Eventually something like an EQ6R would be great, but that’s not something to worry about now
I been seeking support on this matter,
Oh wow it’s around 2k
😂
Definitely in future
Yeah good mounts are pricey
So I would say keep that one until you can get the eq6r, I wouldn’t really recommend any smaller mount than that
Copy, thank you so much.
The other thing you might want to think about is guiding, that telescope has a very long focal length so guiding would help a lot with tracking
Again not something to worry about right off the bat, but once you decide to get it, it would cost about $200-300 to add
Which one would you suggest
I’m planning to purchase reducer of 6.3
Like today actually
Well for the guide camera, asi120mm is great, asi224mc is better. Then get ZWO OAG to connect it
The OAG will basically send a little bit of the light into the guide camera, then the camera will look at the stars to make sure that the tracking is good
No, you should do it ASAP. The advantages of guiding outweigh the weight of the hardware
In other words, guiding solves all of the problems it creates
Yeah it’s also a capable planetary camera
Not as good as the Uranus c
Actually the Uranus C works great as a guide camera, but if you’re using it as the main camera it can’t also do guiding
I’m not really an expert on eyepieces
In this server they do a lot of visual astronomy, im sure they can recommend you some good ones. https://discord.gg/astronomy
