The starblast works without a tripod, you basically just set it on a table or something like that. It sounds inconvenient but when you try it it isn’t too bad
But if you go for the ST80 yeah you would need a tripod
the Orion st80 is much better than the observer 70 between those two i will go for st80 you can buy the tripod separately like a camera tripod.
