#EQ8R Pro vs Used Mach1 vs Trident/Mesu200

@glad basalt should know something about these, he just bought an eq8 and was looking at the mesu too some months ago
damn, according to this video the eq8 can guide at .4 rms with ppec created by a software called PEM Pro

oh damn
imho @minor lodge get a mesu. the eq8 is good, really good but a mesu is ofc better. Not sure ab mach tho
that software has a 60dd free trial, you may want to check it out
btw the mesu and eq8 have different drive types right?
yeah mesu is a friction drive
0.1rms
O.O
I'm just needing peaks below .77 rms! The mesu is great BUT it's insanely heavy, i'd have to keep it in the garage on a wheeled pallet
Whereas the EQ8 comes apart very easily into 40 lb pieces
The Mesu also needs a tripod
The mach1 is the best out of all of them but, discontinued in favor of the mach2, and very rare.
if you need "only" .7 rms then go with the eq8, saves you quite a bit of money and it's still an incredible mount
Yeah its kind of a no brainier
Based on the needed rms at least
Gotcha thank you!
My eq6 has average .3 guiding but then spikes to 2.0. Been tuning it for months, no luck. Seems like bad QC/lost the equipment lotto
I’ve tried everything :p
It’s fine for my current ota but not realistic for what I want to upgrade to
Also, payload
was that .3 out of the box or did it need some tuning
It needed massive amounts of tuning to get that
It was doing 2.5-3.5 out of the box
Oh wow that's bad, you just went for tuning rather than asking the supplier to swap the unit?
Yeah, I thought I was just bad at using it. XD
