Hello! I'm a beginner, and I got this telescope as a recommendation yesterday. What will I be able to see with this? Is there any better telescope in the same price range (500-550€)?
Is it easy to find targets with these kinds of telescopes?
I have a 70mm Celestron at home, but I have not been able to spot things in deep space, which isn't a surprise, but I'm not as interested in our solar system.
How much better is a 10" of the same model?
#Skyliner-200P 8 inch

the improvement between a 10" and a 8" isn't that much to be worth it, you'll be more than fine with this one. With that type of finder scope once it's aligned with the telescope itself it's really quick and easy to find stuff, what I do with mine is keep both eyes open with one looking outside and the other in the finder, similar to what happens with binos once it's in the middle of my eye that looks outside it will also appear in the finder
as for the objects, most of the planets (venus, mars, jupiter and saturn) and if you have the option to go to a dark area you should be able to see the brightest objects like andromeda or orion
Is there a good website or an app for helping finding different things in space?
any stellarium-type of app, I use skysafari
Stellarium is a pretty good app you can you on use pc
u can get it on you phone but u have to pay
id reccomend getting it on pc because you can use oculars and there is FOV simulators there and u can also download star catalogues for free
the phone version is kinda limited with those features
I recommend this scope too. Amazing views of basically every Dso you can think of.
I use mine for photography mostly. But I have done some visual.
I’m a bit late but yes. Any 8 inch dob is going to have fantastic views of of the closer planets, as well as loads of deep sky objects.
I have this one, wonderful for visual (both planetary and deepsky), and great for planetary astrophotography
what about the 6 inch version? is the difference too much? i wanted a 200 p used but there is none on my area, and new its above budget.
8” scope has about twice the mirror area of the 6”, so it’s a pretty big difference.
Yeah I wouldn’t recommend a 6” unless there is absolutely no way to increase your budget. The 8” is a faster F ratio. And it’s got more aperture so it’s many times better
Hi again! In the 8 inch dob's specification it says "Magnifications: x48 & x120", but as the "Highest Practical Power" it's x406. What types of lenses do I need to reach the maximum magnification?
Barlow lenses. But it’s also worth replacing the eyepieces that come with the telescope with some svbony goldline eyepieces
What is special with the Svbony Goldline eyepieces?
They’re really sharp, high quality but without costing much
Are the ones included not sharp? How do you mean sharper? Can you see details easier?
The ones included are probably fine, but everything will look better with better eyepieces. The goldlines also have a lot of eye relief, so they’re comfortable to look through, Especially for people with glasses
