#should I buy a 70mm f10 scope if I am at a tight budget to just get started into astronomy

is it worth buying an f10 70mm scope if you are on a tight budget like Meade infinity 70 🤔
As long as your expectations aren't too high it's a start. But I'd look for an 80mm myself.
i am not expecting anything really high I UNDERSTAND WHAT IT CAN SHOW ME IN REALITY
80mm are quite a bit expensive here in India
Try to get a dobson with the max aperature possible for your budged ig
Those small refractors arent that good for visual astronomy I think (not sure never used a scope like that but I think so because its f10 and small aperature)
I will save up and buy a Dobson (maybe a 8 inch) I was just thinking to get started by a small scope
Until I buy one
Maybe get some binos until then. They're quite cheap and can show lots of deep sky objects
They're quite expensive here in Australia too, for a pensioner. But I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed when it arrives. I bought a secondhand Saxon 804AZ3 for AU$225 (12738 INR) shipped.
I wish second hands were available here too i can't find anywhere a second hand scope I have only one option buy a new one
Do you think getting a new 80mm scope at AUD353 WORTH IT
A new 70mm is costing me about AUD176
In Australia they're AU$379.95 + shipping, around the same price as the Celestron 80AZS. No, if they're not available secondhand I'd go with the 70mm scope. Seems sensible not to double your expenses up front before you find out how serious you are about the hobby. In fact there should be plenty used 70mm scopes available even cheaper, although buying new is always the best way to avoid inheriting someone else's problems. Good luck with your journey, my friend.
I have one and they are good as long as u get the ones with either an alt az3 or eq mount
Don't even look at the other alt az mount that are typically in the indian market
I also suggest not running after brand names. U can get a sky watcher or star tracker scope which is 100% identical for around 2000rs cheaper on tejraj.co
It's a trusted site and I buy all my astro gear from there
Have a look at their website and u may just be able to find something better for ur budget
If u can afford it go for the 90/1000
If not go for the 70/700 or 70/900
But as others say this is purely a planetary and lunar scope. DSO are hard and the max aperture is to high
Nonetheless with good seeing conditions expect to see bands of jupiter, rings of saturn, cresent phases of venus
Apart from that it also does lunar imaging pretty decently as long as u use a dedicated astrocam
I was thinking to get bresser skylux 70/700 from tejraj
I know its a total planetary scope but I will upgrade it later
It's basically the same scope
Its the same price and same scope almost
What about Meade infinity 70 its a normal yoke mount type
Yes on a second thought go for the bresser skylux
Looks to have a better polar wedge than the star tracker one
Not at all pls never buy those. My original scope was a yoke mount and it's super frustrating to use
I ended up upgrading to an eq mount
Thanks I was thinking about another 70mm scope National Geographic CF70/700
What's the price difference?
National Geographic 70mm Refractor Telescope with plossl eyepieces , barlow , mobile adapter - 80-40070 better than celestron power seeker /astromaster series as better eyepieces Ample 70mm aperture will reveal lots of lunar details, planetary features like Jupiter’s cloud belts or Saturn’s rings and some of the brightest Messier objects. Two i...
About 1000rs
But almost the same scope both companies are together
Overpriced+mount looks to be made of plastic
Also tripod legs look quiet flimsy so don't recommend it much
So I think I will go for bresser skylux
Thanks for advice
No problem
