I think they're almost the same, the star adventurer needs 4 AA batteries and they seem to last more than the integrated lithium one on the skyguider. the SA also has wifi

Skyguider pro battery lasts a long ass time and you can plug in an in external battery if you want more.

and its still doing great

Yeah you'll get several nights out of a charge. Only thing I dislike is that you need to have the bloody thing on to check the charge state.

wild shuttle

not too bad

I can't attest for quality the skywatcher tracker but the ioptron one is built like a tank.

wild shuttle
#

yeah

#

My biggest complaint is the base

#

it can be tiny bit wobbly if you dont tighten it down all the way

#

and the alt/azimuth screws are really cheap

#

but its not all that bad

#

the base from william optics would be a great upgrade but its really expensive

I have the wo wedge. The skywatcher one is better by all accounts and the Dec is better too on skywatcher.

wild shuttle
#

its about $60 more

#

are you sure?

the skyguider is weirdly expensive here in europe, 699 vs 419. Both without the tripod

They come up 2nd hand quite often and there is very little to go wrong, so worth considering checking.

I also consider that iOptron offers a 1 yr warranty (90 day on battery) and Sky-Watcher offers 2yr. iOptron integrated battery can not be changed in the field where Sky-Watcher can, however both can be powered externally via usb port. Sky-Watcher polar scope illuminator is pretty dumb imho (worst feature I think), but I rarely used it anyway.

If its $700 you were looking at the ipolar version

#

which comes with an electronic polar scope
