can you not do that by yourself?
it should look like the photo i took but flipped with mars being below jupiter
i assume
?
nooooo
Jupiter comes over the south when its sunrise
Or i couldve imaged
Cuz my bedroom window faces south
ok
Ive texted my mum even tho shes sleeping if i can setup 😂😂😂
what time is it for you im in america
midnight?
https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/night/ use this website and click jupiter to see where it'll be for you
i use this all the time its very useful
I use stellarium
that one is alot better for detailed checkings and the one i sent is good for simple looking where the planets and stars will be
Ahh
Wait u said it would be just flipped tommorow
And still on top of each other?
Friday morning
Uk
it looks like that since its zoomed out also im in the usa so it'll look different for you
Its clear at 5am tommroow after 100% cloud
Idk when sunrise is
Lemme check stellarium
I would have a 10-20 minite window depending when it clears because its rounded to the hour so idk when itll exactly clear
20 minute window would def be enough to look
real
ok i think its about impossible to view jupiter past 6 then
And my app says clouds cleat at 5am
Yup
Lemme check some other sources and see when sunrise is
ok
so 50 minutes?
☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️🍪🍪🍪🍪
🦅 🍔
Yh about depends when clouds clear
Actually burgers originate from hamburg in germany 🤓
Umm actually drake is from canada 🤓🤓🤓
Real
Just move into somebodys house
Ive only gone out like twice in my 6 week holiday
Stacked please
Or wait
How much data is in that picture?
If it's a lot then just stacked, bc I didn't even install dss
My 2nd try at Jupiter
Nice
Nice
First try at jupiter with an uncollimated and dusty mirror. 10" newt
lesgooo hayden
Ty vro 🙏
Jupiter and mars are quite high rn
Southern hemisphere
Better then my best attempt with a dedicated camera 😂
Ty! I’ve just been experimenting with it and maybe if I save up I’ll by a detected camera there expensive tho
My one is an asi 120mc-s
It’s about $300
I’m Australian currency
Ik im broke
This is the best image I’ve gotten with it so far
I’m still learning myself
I think this one’s uncompressed
Nvm
Dang! I just captured Saturn too but I’ll process it later
@ me when you do
K
@ivory cliff finally finished
No what’s that
More resolution
Thx
I just captured the andromeda galaxy, the Hercules cluster and the ring nebula with a celestron astromaster 130eq and an iPhone 11.
Thank you
got my best photo last night
of saturn
nice photo
that’s great!
Tried to photograph the sun for the first time💀
Tried everything but couldn’t manage to get a better focused image
iPhone + 5" bird jones
Please tell me you used a filter
Solar filter
Phew
I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t use a filter
Sometimes dummies don't use solar filters and it pretty much looks like this
Out of focus and a lot of "fog" around the disk
Doesn’t your eyes burn out if you look at the sun without a solar filter
Practically
I mean I could see the sun spots clearly with my eye through the telescope
But somehow couldn’t take a picture with my phone
The phone probably doesn't know what it's looking at, do you have manual focus or no?
Yes but still didn’t work
That's really weird
Exposure time and bortle
?
Bortle six and 1 sec x15 (on Astro shader)
Could be tilted optics?

I burned my eye once, worse 1 week at the hospital of my life
Worst*
you absolute idiot.
I know stawp it
im telling zegery you did that
Lucky my vision works perfectly now
@magic geyser someone who cant read
then why did you say this?
Ciz im joking
Cuz*
Gotta throw on something to start talking
Im bored
Im gonna go for a run
stop being stupid
Ok
M31 Galaxy, 1h30min total, 10sec subs, darks, Sky watcher virtuoso gti 150p, Canon 550D, bortle 4 first ever apprach
thats insanely impressive
would you say the scope is worth it?
How did you attach your camera to it?
I bought t ring from aliexpress for lime 10 dolars and attached to dlsr and then to eyepiece, honestly after doing a lot stuff with telescope id say if ur really on budget and want to start then its good idea but its gonna be hard and painfull to get good resoults, if you want to do a lot of it i suggest someting lese, with this telescope unfurtunetly im limited to around 6-8 seconds of single exposure wihout stara trailing,
Idk why for me for planetary its pretty bad but my guess is that my camera is not good and i woud need a planetary camera to capture more details ect, so if you want to do planetary with this telescope you need dedicated camera basicly, for visual its great
B6-7
So I basically know nothing about astrophotography. Can anyone recommend resources to learn from?
What u interested in?
Planets stars galaxies etc
I’m interested in everything but it’s more what I’m limited to
I have an old camera and a small cheap Celestron
nebula photos, cuiv the lazy geek, astrobackyard
Thank you 🙏
Which camera and scope? @bright wadi
Idk if I can see the branding on the camera anymore
And I have a cheap Celestron refractor
It was on one of Astro biscuits vids
Gimmi a minute

I’m not really a visual learner
How do you guys edit .xisf files? I try to put them on gimp and siril but its not accepted.
You need pixinsight.
Alternatively, open it in graxpert and save it as a 32bit fit, then use that in siril for processing
Oh thanks
dev versions of siril can open xisf files as well
Took these shots of saturn the other day i think they are ok (i used my phone)
Sry if i dont respond cuz i got school tomorrow
how can one stack images
Deep sky stacker (DSS)
siril
Mainly Dss, Siril or Sequator
took a pic of jupiter n moons with nikon coolpix s6500 hand held.. not too bad for 13 y/o cam
andromeda?
yes bro
better than mine
Hi place of beginners
Hi beginner friend
andromeda galaxy
Dumbell nebula with a celestron astromaster 130eq and an iPhone 11 camera
What bortle mister
6
Looks good for b6
i can see triangulum galaxy too faintly
good job
Screenshot from one of my videos on the moon so far
1st mineral moon photo has the vibrance cranked up, second one does not
all taken with my newt. and samsung s20fe
Nice bro!
all Samsung a71
Vivitar 100-200mm f/4 lens
yea I was wondering how tf you got that with just 100mm 😅
my bad lol
finally got a picture of jupiter by holding my smartphone up to the eyepiece
Saturn photo not looking nearly as detailed
tried the north american nebula idk if i missed or am i just really bad
also the left side is blurry prob because of the lens?
poor phone eyepiece alignment does that
might be too close, too far. def a bit too much to the left
No, that should be it. The nebula is fairly faint though, so it'd take like a 60s exposure to bring it out
The harvest full moon. nothing special
moon
moon
(real)
i think it's green bc of the WB thing on my phone (changes colour), set to 5500K for moon pics, which might also turn greys green
blue moon (aaaa)
might be a good idea to lower it to something like 4000k just so red hues dont turn it that color
k I'll try that tonight if it's clear
hey not bad
that with a 130eq is very good
Thank you
hi
i have started on january 11th, 2022 my astrophotography journey and i have now recently bought a new telescope, here are my very first pics
andromeda core
dumbbell nebula

you can look into space
yea...
yk how I said I'll try when clear
we then had like 5 days of near constant rain
now the moon is last quarter and I only might have a chance at waking up to go do some photos
Deneb
My first time trying an EQ platform!
Specs:
- Bresser f/6 8" Dob
- 30mm eyepiece
Stacked 42x6-second exposures
Stacked in
one of my first ever proper andromeda pics (10 min of data)
Camera: Canon Rebel SL1/100D
Lens: 80-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II
Star tracker: SWSA 2i
would've gotten more data but the wind was at a constant 15 mph with gusts of 25+ mph and my battery was low
much better seeing today, and the difference is astounding
Just took my first jupiter pic (not the best but i like it)
I took it in bortle 4
Took it with my skywatcher 76/900 Eq2
This is the final stacked + a bit edited image
twilight, feels nice
Solomark 130mm newt. With an svbony 32mm lens.
I do not recommend the solomark whatsoever tho
The svbony lens? Sure why not.
Well i like the pic
About 14 minutes of data taken in 4s shots
I have pushed my optics to a degree I don't think it's supposed to reach
Who knows how it'd do if I had some real equipment for it.
Will deepskycamera work if theres an object in the foreground?
Register the stars so it detects at least 25 to 40 stars
You also got the triangulum galaxy on the right too
Impressive!
WOW
rate this mosaic showcasing 30mins vs 50mins with SeeStar
8/10. Amazing shot, and good composition. But for the 50 min exposure, it seems that there are some dark patches. Im not sure if that is some artifacts, or is the nebulosity. Other than that, amazing image!
if anyome need help,dm/ping me anytime
Hey guys this is my first pic of my orion nebula i use tamron 75-300mm, 17s exposure, need more data actually
nice sub
Thank you
I got another exposure time of orion nebula
1s x 500 frames
8.25 minutes of exposure
i took this last night
im new here and new to skyviewing and astrophotography but its neat so far
Comet 2023 A3 ATLAS 2 hours ago!
Dslr with 300mm lens 40s exposure
I this this was at ~175mm
idk why I never bothered to post this here. Single 13s exposure (f/4.5, ISO 400) on 15/10/24
I mean yea this isn't #1233917530989395968 I'm still a beginner lol
oh wait I see what you mean now
nvm
hehehehwgwgwdgfehdgfsgaddsthrhe
hi everyone!! im about a week away from having a heq5 pro, would love to meet beginners like me, theres someone who has recently received an equatorial mount as well?
I got another subs of orion
Total exposure 11 minutes
And carina nebula around 1 minute
Caldwell 85 around 3 minutes
Yes i just got it a week back
what setup do you have? i'll have a HEQ5 Pro + Nikon D610 + Nikkor 70-300
not the real shit but at least the mount is prepared for the upgradeable future 😛
I have HEQ5 Pro, with Canon EOS 500D with tamron 18-400mm. I also have a skywatcher 200pds, but havent tried it yet. Ill mostly use the DSLR setup, as im looking to do deep sky
oh and also installed Astroberry on mi Raspberry Pi3 to act as a sort of cheap AsiAIR hehe
woahh heq5 pro seems to be the real deal, nice setup
Thanks!
i'm looking forward to automate all i can
Yea i might do that later this year
i cannot recommend you more using a bahtinov mask! it simplifies a lot the focusing
Understood. Thanks for the advice!
lunar occultation of saturn (screenshot from a video)
Orion constellation
just increasing my subs
like around 8 more minutes
nebula definitely getting brighter
compared to first and the second
first one around 8 minutes, increased to 11 minutes, into 19 minutes now
definitely getting more subs
Beautiful!!!
Sequator
And siril
Man doing this untracked really make my pc storage gone
Siril its ok, but ive 40+ gig raw data and want me to insert to siril?
No storage lmao
So i choose sequator instead
ah
maybe deepskystacker then?
or just get more storage i dunno
sequator messes with the colors
Yea im considering upgrade my ssd tho
So i can stack at siril
Siril sometimes better at stacking process
Already try that but yeah.. after 1300 images
Only 200 hundred inserted
rip
hi
hi :]
Orion (:
Orion 30 min
Where are the stars
Starnet (:
get them back
show us the stars
I have a version for it but it’s not processed the same way
reprocess it with stars
Ok sure
How do u denoise?
Isnt that 99 pounds
i did 1 h 30 min on this
Should I try to get the orion nebula with the 10x lens on my phone
YES
doid u take that in bb9 or smth?the pic is good but for 2 hours u should have way more orion structure
heres my 1 hour with phone and 6" dob
10 times on phone? its digital zoom so it prob gonnna turn out really bad
Should I get a camera adapter for my Celestron Nexstar 130?
I'm trying to take photos of planets/the sky.
Yea sure
yep i did
sry i texted wrong this is 30 min of orion
ohhhhhhhhh okk
yea i got a bit confused mb
I have a s22 ultra so theres a 10x telephoto lens
oh then sure
Don’t zoom in too much tbh
the 10x can get some surprisingly good deep sky pictures as long as you're in low bortle
like low 4 and below
Eh still tho
I picked up the flame nebula in bortle 9 with only an hour of data
I plan on shooting andromeda once I find the time and do some repairs on my 2i
(or just buy a GTI)
Yea cuz it isn’t that dim
still impressive since the lens and sensor is absolutely tiny
albeit get enough data of any object and you'll eventually pick it up (to a point)
why is the milky way so dim ( captured with iphone 14 and night cap, stacked with siril)
Possibly out of focus and too low iso setting
How long was your exposure?
30 seconds
You should try 10 minutes+. You can do this by learning how to stack photos. Make sure to use raw mode too
Stacking is really easy. But for trailed stars like this, you'd have better luck in siril than dss
Or lower exposure time to 10s
I did stack, I stacked 30 second images and got a total exposure of 900 seconds
can u give me the data pls? your process has clipped blacks and whites
i think i can make it really nice
really?
yh this is before and after of myy orion pic
my data its... little bit different idk
just let me try
there you go
thanks im gonna processs it now
okayy
its turning out good
thats the point where i clipped my white
lmao
at that point i keep stretching it
yeahhh nice thoo
it still has a long way to fo so its gonna become way better
Did a dirty AstroShader edit
dude really?
cant waitt
i also processed mine in astroshaderr, i llike this more
Yours is goontatsic

gn pook
im almost done
here it is
wowwww
at least i can see the runningman nebula there
wowww damn
thank you so much
alot better than mine
hopefully i can take this extra crisp crazy sharpness over here
no problem man!
tag me when u need to andd for tiips
u can put your data in the blurx request feed, there u can ask for people to use blurx onn your image (blurx is a software that costs 100bucks and makes your immages sharper)
alright thanks
ahhh i seee
okayy
its crowded tho lmao
they blurxed mine so i think they gonna blurx yours too
not a single good weather night in my area for a week in spain 😅 got my first equipment (HEQ5+ Nikon D610 + 300mm lens) and cannot try it yet 😵💫
i am so amazed, astroberry is such a powerful and easy tool
I have similar equipment. Got it 3 weeks ago. Today was the first night i could try it because the clouds finally cleared. I was having a problem that my dslr (canon 500d with 400mm lens) was too light for counterweight supplied. What counterweight mass do you have?
i have the same hypotethical issue, the guys from the shop www.telescopiomania.com suggested me that with that light equipment, i could try to not use the counterseight bar at all
i think we do not need balancing when the payload is so light, because the purpose of balancing is to not overstress the R.A and DEC axis if i am right. Let me know if your session was alright!
Update: I tried it yesterday, but without the counterwight, the camera is too heavy (very unbalanced RA). But with the counterweight, the camera is too light lol. I did some research and found that there is a 2 kg counterweight for this mount, so will probably have to buy that
Wanted to add this here, because it was my first night using an eq mount with an 8 inch telescope (the the 8 inch with the mount)
So i think i did pretty good for a beginner
oh thank you, then probably that applies for my setup too
No problem
The link for counterweight:
https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/skywatcher-19kg-counterweight-fits-eq3eq5heq5eq6.html
❤️ahh nebula
LMAO
Ohhh mann, one of the best images that I have seen of the seven sisters is this one.
That’s so cool wth
The spikes are crazy beautiful
what's your gear
ah, it says in your bio
other than the coma, it's pretty solid
whys my jupiter so shitty
Show
Its so cringe photo that i cant😭
no matter what you show, we've all definitely seen or taken worse
bro yall are cool as shit
I’m jealous of you guys I don’t have a expensive telescope
this is probably one of the few big hobby servers that almost never gets toxic
whats your gear?
just phone or a camera?
a phone
samsung?
iPhone 15
I had a telescope with a phone attachment
I do want that new samsung tho for its zoom
ah, i was thinking apple finally caught up in telephoto lenses
sadly they aren’t worried about that
the 24 is probably a downgrade from the 23 and 22
im 80% certain
interesting
comparing my own pics with samples from the 24
the sensor is larger by a whole 30mp but it just doesnt compare with the older gens at a distance
eh, i wouldnt go that far as much as much as id love to agree
i think its just down to the optics being suited for longer FL
pixels cant really replace the sharper and longer throw glass
i hope they switch back with the 25, but that isnt looking bright
back to your gear, a phone is more than enough for beginner astro, at least for AP
binoculars would do well if youre going visual
Uhh ok
@quaint vector @hybrid tiger
My best one
Is bad
I can even see the planet well
It looks vetter irl that this
better than what I can get
or at least have attempted
not really a planetary person myself, more deep space
you got the bands, thats def a start
How is a photo cringe man
I mean like an Astro photo
Nice
Wellbad
Ok
Everyone starts somewhere, don’t put yourself down when ur images aren’t as great as others who have done this for a while
Ur image is great for someone starting out
Don’t
The moon pics from it are fake

the AI just enhances the photos every smart phone uses AI to enhance photos
no
It doesn’t enhance it literally just makes it appear
Watch the vid u will understand
samsung phones in general are better than iphones imo
I just use iPhone cuz of IOS I like it better
But I’m planning for my next phone to be Samsung tbh
Most likely
uu dont need an expensive telescope to take good images, i use a simple 6' dob annd phone and get decent pics
stupid question - how do you get it to actually focus? My jupiter just looks like a glowing orb
make it as small as possible
Oh sorry, I meant through the phone camera
It looks normal when I look at it through the eyepiece
Phones just do that
It is in focus
Reduce iso and exposure but besides thst you can't really do anything
Bruh
No
Looks so good
Or what u think urself?
Tysm bro
I’m not sure that’s why I asked lol
But Ty
Ur NA nebula looks really good dude
Better than my image
And thanks goes to 1 person from here (i dont remember rn his name but he processes it like that for me🥹)
Thank u
Nice processor
Yw
Try to process urself too
Data seems to have potential
Can I have the stacked file? I’ll give it a go tommorow
Please
Yes if i find it lol
But
Tomorroe
Cause im in bed gonna sleep soon
So ye
Ofc
I did tru
Ok gn Bro
1:58AM
@normal axle
Cheese
hep guys i pressed a random button and now i cant see home, adjustments/layers and toolbar randomly appears when i hover where it should be
fixed
First photos of Jupiter and Saturn with my wobbly phone through my wobbly scope.
And Comet Tsuchschan earlier this year.
definitely seems like it's out of focus
Ahhh i see. Any tips I could use to help it out?
what did you use to get the picture
as in the camera
is it anything with digital zoom?
i'm only using a planetary camera
it's the zwo asi585mc
I got no idea if that has a digital zoom feature
but if you do, use it to dial in the focus + a bahtinov mask
First time trying it out. Light pollution is gnarly, my street lamps are so bright.
Lots 'n lots of noise. It's cropped, but shot it at 16mm F/1.4 800 ISO for an exposure of 15s
Still trying to figure out a bunch of the camera settings.
Ended up taking 16-20 different photos with ISOs ranging from 50-800 and exposures from 4s-25s
^ These settings ended up getting me the best single photo "score" in Deep Sky Stacker
I think the next time I tackle this again, I'd try two things:
-
Try to get away from street lamps. Post processing was brutal and I could probably avoid some of the more extreme lighting issues if I took a walk and shot in a more exclusive space. Could also drive about 30 minutes for some minorly improved skies (5 vs 7).
-
If this is the right direction and there's no more tweaks to do w/ camera settings, I'd probably take a chunk of these photos and stack 'em together to try and reduce the noise. Andromeda is up early in the evening right now and I'd like to see if I can get lucky piecing even a bit of it together.
What else should I do?
Can someone process my orion data?
30 min of exposures
Mine was very noisy
Heres the link if someone want to process it
Thanks in advance
Yess
Dont have bahtinov mask
So i use 10x times to focus it
In my camera
the sun today vs the 30th (Today on the left) different iso but same exposure length
very cool you can see the sun is rotating
also how much does a decent 0,5 focal reducer cost and what one is the best (budget friendly)
Tried stackin Orion's Nebula. No tracker, but decent for a first try. Baby steps
bit out of focus but actually not bad for your first try
I’m gonna make a bahtinov mask for my telescope to see if I can line it up
I couldn’t figure out how to make the camera digitally zoom attached to my telescope instead of having a lens
I’ll be in some decently dark skies this weekend for a bit (lvl 2). Any good ideas for what I should try and nab? Untracked mind you
Nice dude
The rosette nebula might be a good target depending on your FL
But judging from your picture, is should be nicely framed
rosette isnt all that easy for a stock dslr which i assume he is using
fair point, just thought it might have an easier time picking it up from a B2
how u guys think about this photo?
colorful and splotchy, background is a mess, details completely gone from what i assume is denoising, stars look like their opacity is at 75%
Rip
Untracked tho so...
Man idk how to properly process it
Kind of new of deep sky object
When focusing, do I focus on the brightest star in the frame or the less bright ones I can see?
Brightest star works
You're using a DSLR right?
Yep yep, what should I watch out for??
Is it on the newer side or secondhand?
It’s a ZV-E10, completely new
Fancy, I'd say use the digital zoom to your advantage
Center the star you're using to focus and zoom in 5x to really get as sharp as you can
I’ll absolutely try, It kept giving me errors due the camera being connected to my telescope rather than a “lens”
Ah yea, there's some settings you can fiddle with to bypass that I believe
I think there’s a setting somewhere to force it 😭 but I don’t know enough abt the camera
There's a few good articles and videos on it, once you at least know the settings name, you should be able to find it on your own
I had to do some looking before I figured it out myself
Man I was so excited last night
I managed to hook my iPhone up to it
And take photos remotely so it wouldn’t shake (and I wouldn’t have to put a 10s timer between presses)
That's another level that I haven't quite reached yet 😅
I'm just working with a Rebel SL1 that I picked up a year ago for a decent price
And sometimes my phone just for a bit of fun
What scope+mount are you running if any?
Is it a refractor?
yep!
Haven't seen those used much for imaging
Then again this is coming from the person that uses a mak as a deep sky scope
No matter
😂 id love something cool but it’s definitely well out of the price range
90% of this server feels the same for sure
Why’s it no good for imaging?
It isn't exactly bad, I'm just saying it's one of the less common ones I see
Hey I did take this in a light polluted area so it’s good for it’s area
They're mainly visual scopes so people don't think to use them for AP
True
Fair game
I can’t wait to get something that tracks
I could take hundreds of photos and it works out to only like 5 minutes of total exposure 😭
I feel that
Back when I was imaging a ton, I was mainly untracked
Only "recently" I've gotten a tracker but I just can't find the time to drive 3 hours to avoid light pollution
I know this isn’t astrology related but I’m better at taking pictures of weather than the stars
YOOOO my degree is in Meteorology
This is EPIC
Astronomy, but close enough
I'm an amateur storm chaser myself
At least I try to be 💀
Haha my gf did that for a few years with a team
Also there’s this
Going down to the south-central US for the 25 storm season
Ooh have fun that’s where I’m at
Did y’all hear about the Elkorn Nebraska tornado back in April
I did see that
Yeah I was in that tornado
Mile and a half wide
I gotta head cross state to get some goodies before my star adventures this weekend
Thanks for answering my questions
I’ll try again tonight 🙂
Ooo that reminds me I should probs post some of my lightning pics in the photo channel
I'll do that after I get some sleep 😭
I know this has no relation to space but I made this edit and it was a pain to make
Bro

Am I still considered a beginner fellas? 2 hours 5 mins from bortle 9 unfiltered
Day 2 of attempting the Orion Nebula
much better
I hate how overblown the stars get during processing
mostly due to my lack of knowledge there :L
Nicee
Yea I assume you'd really have to do something to them seperately
had the same thing in mine
ah fair game
5 minutes of exposure 😄 Untracked
It’s just bad optics sadly
I'd die for more
U can stack data from multiple nights btw
as long as the data is equal quality
Im not one for the cold so I can only sit outside for about an hour
I just head inside while its imaging
me having to adjust my Azimuth mount every 15 shots
fair
I think my next goal is try and see how many nights I can push it till I get an hour of exposure
you can probs get it done in 2 nights if you're efficient
(or I could beg my family for a star tracker)
A star tracker is really helpful
One day!
saved for my 2i since it isnt super expensive
Im with it
although if you can, i'd spare the extra couple hundred for the GTI
whys that?
Go-to capability
GOTO is so helpful
??
Especially in light polluted conditions
What's GoTo
Points at objects for you
basically it aligns itself to a target
what
I believe the GTI is the cheapest Go-to mount on the market at around $500
hold on i gotta look up a video
Example: u wanna image Orion Nebula. U search for it in the app and then press goto
It will point at it for you
and track?
Instead of you pointing at it manually
cute setup (as a compliment)
thats really cool yall
Ty lol
Ill try n save up
It’s smol
Keep in mind u can’t put any big scopes on this
Low payload capacity
But ur dslr and lens will be fine
U can put 50-70mm refractors on it tho
although the 2i def serves its purpose as one of the best portable trackers
I've abused it far too much to admit and it still tracks well
@urban kite I have a question for you, from the place of ur imaging, can u see Polaris?
Lmao
sometimes
nothing you can put on it will have the focal length to be difficult to find a target
Why sometimes?
sometimes...?
buildings get in the way 😭
Doesn’t make sense since it never moves in the sky
do the buildings move...?
Yep. Get a GOTO mount then
I am in the same case as urs
no but I also don't either
I live in a city
😂
I'm fortunate enough to have an apartment with a backyard in a couple weeks so i'll be going ham with imaging eventually
but yea light pollution is a geniune problem here
I might be moving to uh Minnesota
I’m bortle 9
so better skies and less buildings
MINNESODA!
obamna
I like obamna more
real
god I cant wait to break out the inconvenient rig
Obamna 😢
What are u getting?
is that a phone?
Yes
or an SVBony MK105 with a DSLR and tracker
cool
so either low power low mag or insanely high FL and not much light gathering
its truly a learning experience
Damn
I wanna push my phone to it's limit
got any cool photos?
uh, not visually pleasing but definitely progress
this is from my untracked days
not too clean data since most of it is taken in bortle 9 summer skies
and y'know
with a phone...
its roughly 40 min of data
I think
oh for you it'll be extremely easy
you would probs only need 5 minutes to match that level of data
😂 potentially
I tried already and I didn't get much
but I've also learned a bit since last week
do you have a pic of it?
Yo nice
You can get wayyy better dude
You will prob get this in single exposures
yea keep in mind thats with nothin but a phone and tripod
This was just my DLSR
you have a camera and lens
@quaint vector what do you think?
ough the smudge
😂
Smudgey
tad bit red
but overall its pretty solid data
ah
I dont really do anything to my pics except stretch and maybe a BG extract
and ofc color correction/cleanup
goonigh
I'm probs gonna stay up since I got work in 3 hours
even though I got off 2 hours ago
the blue collar life is NOT a great one
god speed
What’s color cleanup
as in color correction and cleanup
I can absolutely go for mac and cheese bites right now
Yep
I was also thinking, thanks for the tip I’ll try
yipeeee yep its better
tyyyyyy
You use what app to stack?
i used DSS here
damn
First attempt at the Orion nebula. Shot with a C8 on a AZEQ5 mount. The camera is a Nikon D750 and there's a 0.6 reducer in play, that is what's causing the vignetting. What do you guys think?
I only took dark frames for calibration
niceeeee
thx
Look sick
But yea the core had been blasted
Recommend turn slightly down the highlight
Do you want the individual lights or the stacked linear image?
I have one with 165 images stacked and the other that is 99 images with 2x drizzle
The one I sent is a the latter processed
