I don’t know about the 3mp but the ZWO asi 224MC is a great option for about 200$ and I have the ZWO asi 462MC it is 250 and has 2.1 megapixels and has lower read noise I know there are more options but that’s what I am familiar with.
Mars C on sale
it's important to have a small sensor for planetary to increase your magnification. ^_^
the ZWO ASI 120 might be a little less expensive than the 224MC and might be able to archieve similar results. It has a different sensor, tho and I'm not sure how well they compare.
I think the best cameras are the ZWO ASI 178 Series, but that's 100% over your max. budget
Maybe a Omegon GUIDE 2000C could work as well 🙂
Are you planing on photographing planets or deep space?
They asked for a planetary camera
So probably planetary
I have a dob so I'm focusing on planetary rn
Yep I should go to sleep 😂
But I‘d go with a ZWO camera, because the software is uncomplicated and easy to use. I don’t have a specific model in mind but you can‘t go wrong with the ZWO 224MC.
ZWO ASI224MC is a good one, but doesn't have 3MP. It still takes fantastic pics though. do not look at the resolution but at the sensor itself.
I might go with a Uranus C possibly
That aint under $200
But
It's one of the best planetary cameras you can buy
I want it though
