Hey guys I’m just wondering how people get color from the andromeda Galaxy? After I process my data I get a almost yellowish color, no blues like other photos I seen before

So looks like you also have some gradients, have you taken any flats?

sharp kraken
#

You think flats are the problem of not seen the colors?

toxic jacinth
#

No, but flats help correct for vignetting and other things, like I use my flats for white balance as well

#

Have you used siril's PMCC tool?

#

(photometric color calibration)

sharp kraken
#

I never use flats before so kind of new on that

#

I used pix and photoshop

toxic jacinth
#

Ok, so pix has that too, it's one of the first steps I use for any processing

#

That one does correct the color properly

sharp kraken
#

Color calibration?

toxic jacinth
#

Photo metric color calibration, yes

#

You tell it where in the sky you are and it uses survey data to correct your colors

sharp kraken
#

Ohh cool

toxic jacinth
#

Afterwards you may still need to remove some green noise via SCNR though

#

Also, I'm not a PI user, so won't be able to help you there

sharp kraken
#

I’m trying it right now

@sharp kraken for pix you can also download the needed catalogs (GAIA etc.) locally so you can do the calibration offline as well

sharp kraken

Thanks

it's this stuff on the Software Distribution page

#

Hey everyone. I captured M31 last night and did some processing today. Anything I could make better if I were to do a re-edit? There is definate Chromatic Aboration due to using a 75-300 kit lens. But tell me what you think - unless this is the wrong place for this message
