hey lucas can i use your mw photo in my web dev class final project? i need astrophotos taken with phone and fixed tripod and i dont have any photos of mw
i will credit you but i am not going to put the website in internet its just a project but still i will credit it : )
just let me know which social media you want to put : )
That's actually sick
Hercules cluster, 2 seconds, 3200 iso
Screenshot of the raw
got this short stack of 9x 1 sec shots of the same object last night: more iso boost would definitely improve your image!
Hi Smit, sure!
My IG is: astrolucas_js
3200 is my phones highest iso
Acquisition details?
I remember with my 80/800 I saw a faint blurry dim smudge aswell
In b6
Did you edit this it looks bit grainy
yeah but i still have the originale
Decent pic 👌
thanks
i tried taking photos of the orion nebula with night mode buut i turned out not as expected
uhh thats my phone s problem it does not have pro
114/900 mm
Damnn
Yo you should get decent results w that
For planetary it would be sick
Try do planets
What phone do you have
redmi 12 lol
Its possible with that
do you stack videos bc i tried but i cant download registax
You can try third party apps and yiu cna try do exposure and Iso there
I can stack for you
And process
really
sure ill do it
not yet these days it Wendy ash so it moves the telescope and the video is ruined
okay thank you so much
Thanks Lucas 🥹👨🍳
Hi again, i searched it but couldn’t find it on the apps store
Oh i found it, blackmagic cam
my brain be like dark=black 💀💀
Black=dark
Dark≠black
😐
With realme 9, the craziest part? It only has 10x zoom
Here is with very cheap binoculars
Very good for budget phone ngl
Keep in mind this is a very small city, 10k people living in it
50mm telescope?
60
Sun thru morning fog
Bro is that a sunspoy through pboen in first piv bottom tight
Right
Could be
Damn wth
so when others do it its fine
but if I do I get threatened with brown dwarf 😭

Those aren't accrate, use images from SDO
I downloaded it I'll test it out gcam is basically like standard camera but there's options for astrophotography and it's on steroids from what I've heard it has to be compatible with your phone and you can take few min exposure w it
Ill compare it from my usual camera to gcam
It looks like open camera but with annoying ads and a paywall
I didn't get any ads
It looks legit you have to download apk from modders
From modders that has best ap settings
You can tweak it there's so much settings
Ask chat gpt what model is compatible that's what I did
gcam will only work on phones with full camera2api compatibility
Onky works for android I think but to check if phone is compatible download camera 2 probe it should say level 3 of full compatibility
your best bet is using opencamera
I see
I've gone through some painful processes of seeing if an a55 would work for raw
it doesn't, don't root your phone at all
not worth it
I'll just test it I won't go serious on it
I don't wanna like root my phone and link with my cpu whatever that crap is
This the one?
No
Its apk on web
But download from trusted source and check what link is compatible w your phone
i have a couple more vids but took them on a different phone i need to send them to mine ignore the music
what is the music in the background, I like it
that’s it
Ah okie
MOON HDR : ]
Not exactly hdr if you can't see earthshine
Are you Live in Australia? Why is the Moon upside down?😂

A reprocess
I decided to reprocess my orion nebula photo I captured earlier this year. The stars were way out of wack, and the color seemed very off. I can't say for sure that this reprocess is better (the images still have way more room to be improved), but I personally find it more fascinating!
The 1st also involved sirils star reprocessing, as the stars in the original had weird glare and look awful (as seen in image two)
Image 1 - Reprocessed
Image 2 - Original photo
I believe the 2nd one was me just trying to pull whatever I could, while the 1st was trying to go for a more realistic color
If anyone has opinions on which they prefer, or any criticism, please do share!
March 2025 lunar eclipse timelapse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKmSIp9tkVk
it was taken with my telescope and my phone over the course of 5ish hours
i aligned everything manually :|
took like 2 weeks of editing. :| dont ask
time in the top right is in EST.
Welp gcam sucks
Fiest is with gcam but I think i captured a very bright meteor
Hold up It was a fireball maybe defo not satellite it plane
Was it a very bright extremely fast streak?
That looks pretty dim to be a meteor
I was testing out some camera the whole pic wa super dim compare to my normal
If I captured in some very dim cam
Then it shoukd super bright
It was a 4min exposire pic I was inside 🥲
Hmm not sure then 🤔
I can see a dotted line, plane and contrail?
If it was plane it would go through the whole image
Red and green lights
The dotted line could be like burnijb ionising rock
But not sure
Seems way too evenly spaced not to be artificial
Your right
Gcam really sucks huh
Dk why it's so purple but I edited to bring the trail out
Defo not lens flare trust
The trail was somewhat near moon as well that's why there's this bright hue
Not satellite checked with stellarium
Oh well i think it's prolly some weird thing I see now and then
No but they're eye burningly bright or not bright at all and that seems pretty big so I'm guessing it'd be a fireball which are crazy bright
It's a light that got in camera possibly from nearby streetlight
He already said not lens flare
What is happening near tycho??
Probably stack artifact
It came out like that, but mehh, i dont mind it haha
Tonight’s moon, annoyingly my phone wasn’t positioned properly but only realised as I came back inside 😭
Let’s just only look at the top half 😅
I adjusted some things
Samsung S22 Ultra. 10x optical zoom.
No telescope. Hand tracked.
Blurx 0.33 😄
I've noticed if I set the exposure the same for all my photos, the fuller moons lit surface brightness is significantly brighter for some reason, seeliger effect maybe?
2x barrow lens
3 worst things, also what is with that crazy diffraction spike? My phones aperture is circle
Its js bright
I waited till late thinking skies were clearing but this cloud just went over
No moon image from me tonight, 8 day streak it is
Could have been like 11 but I missed a day
I can't believe Scotland is being hit by clouds that are just advertising an adblocker
Dirty lens causes it
Depending on what direction you wipe your lens it changes directions
If you clean it in a circular motion it will disappear
I DID clean my lens, those would not be rainbow coloured
Well, that's the cause
Not sure if dirt exactly but just oils and thingies from your hands on the lens
Flares from a dirty lens aren't usually rainbow coloured tho
Messier 66 and the Western Veil Nebula
Used an free ai denoiser for the first image though 😭
What's your setup veil nebula will look very good if you stacked it
Thats a really nice looking moon
Thanks
I wouldn't recommend using any denoiser, the human brain is much better at spotting detail in noise
I mean Nero AI seems to do quite well
What setup?
8 Inch SCT and iPhone 14 Pro using AstroShader
What bortle
Nice setuo, what bortle
This is surely your best
There is no chance this is accurate.... I took an old photo and asked chat gpt for help editing it and it gave me a step by step guide using Lightroom.... I did it all, here is the side by side.... There's no way that's accurate right?
Accurate... what exactly do you mean?
Like that's a horrible photo, there no shot that it's got that many stars, I took that without really any research on the best method etc.... just used expert raw lol
wdym I'm seeing quite a lot of stars
I guess.... I just assumed those were noise
Moon was actually almost full, i just couldn't keep the phone straight
S24 fe with celestron astromaster 130eq on a 10mm eyepiece
Severely overexposed
no?
i turned the brightness down and sharpened it after taking the pictur
e
makes it look pretty blurry and not much detail
Looks good
Guessing 5 or 6
This would be over exposed
I'd say it's pretty underexposed
or this
Oh, nvm then. Will try again when moon is visible.
Best to set iso lowest and shutter speed highest without overexposing
Just took this
Those are stars alright
Why can't I tell if that's sarcasm lol
It is lol
Increase the exposure and iso
I tried to take a photo of the Orion nebula but i there is no clors (used night mode bc i don't have pro mode)
the orion nebula is on the far right
maybe take another image with it centered
Beehive cluster, Orion Nebula, and Pleiades from a B2-3 on a full moon
I have a gysker 130eq telescope
still looks hella cool
Some practice and you’ll be all good
Photos like these took just a few months of experience for me
Really cool one
M106
1250 iso
30sec exposure
65 light frames 15 dark
Bortle 5
Not final but looks OK
Stacked in dss edited in siril and Adobe express
Idk why purple and bit blurry maybe tiny unfocused 😭
Almost
But this image has lots of potential
Its the best i could get for some reason siril software shut down or sum I couldn't be bothered to download some local ones off siril
I should put that galaxy on my list
Its bright trust
Single frame I was able to see it
Go for galaxies with med to high surface brightness
Go for M108 aswell
I got this in b6 75%moon
Already did 😎
It was hard to tell if it was a galaxy at first though as it just looked like a bright star
usually galaxies (specifically their cores) appear as smudges
and for me that’s a clear indicator
The stars literally out shine the whole thing
I just did it with Stellarium and my Phone long exposure😅
M35
What eyepiece did you use I had the same darkening effect in the middle when I used 32mm
I used the default 25mm eyepiece that came with the telescope
Who got a lighter for this one right here
The edges looks tiny blurry mb misaligned but you captured m35 well
Yeah there was some star trailing around the edges
iPhone 13, 20s, 10pic = 3,3min total exposure, ISO 8200, b4 sky
Doesnt look like stacked
yea that's why i asked
it's good data, would benefit a ton from stacking
I agree
Celestron Inspire 90 Mm Az and s22 ultra
Nah
Rly nice for this setup
You could film it and then use pipp and autostakkert to get cleaner results
Stacking that would be op
Would it be the same process as stacking stars? So like darks flats that stuff?
I didn’t know in Minencraft we have a Polar Star😅 Just 30s Exposures and we got so much trailing, looks like the minecraft Earth spins very fast🟩
Thats cool
No
You just take a video of the planet
And use pipp to align all the frames
And autostakkert to stack them
Nah
You'll learn the whole process within a week
It's easy
Is there a way to do it using photos and not a video? It's really hard to keep my phone stable bc I lost the phone mount
Yeah I highly recommendinh taking a video then process
Bro that pic you took without adapter looks legendary
Didn’t get as much exposure time as I wanted but here’s a glimpse of the eagle nebula!!
You can even see the pillars of creation in the middle which is just sick
Also some planetary nebulae as well
Woah wtff

Damnnnnnnn
Little mental note I’ll make for myself: the pillars of creation are next to the part of the cluster that look kinda like scorpius
It does look like scorpius lol
Edited a bit slightly

I mean its better
I’ll sleep earlier tonight and I’ll get a better shot tomorrow morning I promise
This Monday I’m only functioning on under 3 hours of sleep 😭😭😭
Should i buy a bahtinov mask for phone ap?
Bahtinov masks are used for finding perfect focus on your telescope, you could I guess but it might be redundant for phone AP since phone cameras usually won't come to the same focus as the telescope.
Oh i see
but the diffraction pattern will still account for that, no?
Perhaps, I'm just saying it might not be worth the trouble if you're just imaging with a phone camera
Unless you have a Xiaomi phone and your camera is stupidly good
Walking noise go BRRR
Omg I didn’t realize that was a message from like 2 years ago
Why is my phone scrolled up so high

Its kinda worth it ish
I have 1 but I think it's me it's kinda hard to see the spikes you need 3 perfect spikes
I js look like 2 sec exposure 3200 iso
But just put infinity zoom before checking focus I have other ways to get clean focus other than the mask
Ok thanks for telling me
hey can anybody stack a vid of jupiter for me ?
how big is it
69,911 Kilometers
m51 taken with 6" untracked dob and iphone 14 pro with astroshader
Hey can someone check this #1364558098718527599
Damn, for how long did you image?
95minutes but 50mins got rejected by siril so 45mins total int
25mins of int m106
can i see your m106?
in b4
Ohhh
Mine B5 lemme send
25min integration time
Very thin clouds so stars is bit off and mid seeing
JJ edited it for me
I added little tweak
woahhh nice
did you use blurx??
No idea someone else just did it for me
C14 Double Cluster in Perseus
Do you have a phone holder?
i got a meteor while shooting the milky way
Yes, this was 150 exposures taken at a very low iso 0.5sec exposure
That is so cooool
Oh ok
Well it looks like you didn’t really align well the phone cam to the eyepiece
Yeah it was off a little bit. Also, do you have any tips on how to remove the dark spot in the middle?
By aligning properly
I had it before because i didnt align the phone to eyepiece properly
Oh ok, thanks! I will try that this night
keep me updated, and if you still have troubles @ me
That happened to me when I used a high power eyepiece
Try use 25mm 20mm or lower
same?
here it's more visible
I use a 25mm eyepiece
focoacal
Cuz some light cna be loss if using phone and high power eyepiece
Not with eye tho
Unless maybe you precisely aligned
Oh ok
Woahh its same yoo
I capture m51, it was almost 20min total exposure, 1s and ISO 10000. I think is good. I am in b6. Idk why stars are like comets. Maybe coma or I was not good Fokus. I use AstroShader on iPhone 13
Can't seem to say whether I like it or is it too much edited
Its a composite soo
Yea you cant convince me this was shot with a phone
How much int time?
15s
In total
No way
Oh lucky
yes i have like extra 1-2 hours before the sun goes rise
so i take a pic
so its possible to take milky way
In 15 sec sub you see milkyway
i live in high floor also
im not at the ground
and the city lights(some of them) were shutted down
that helped me
thankss
what phone and I don't believe thats in bortle 9, there's just no way
Oppo reno 3 btw
Yeah it is bortle 9
Its possible bro
Remember its stacked
Not a single frame
I know I know, but when I take my single frame the Milky Way is just not even visible due to the brightness, how do you compensate for that?
I see🧐
I shot my milky way at zenith
And i live in high building also
I shot this at 2 a.m
Light city some of them were shutted down also
That helped me while im shooting the milky way
Avoid street light also
Anyway do you live in northern hemisphere?
I think the milky way is way too low in northern
Cygnus region is our only hope for mw in Northern hemisphere
Rest is doomed by the atmosphere
Yk its actually beautiful
Like check this
🧍♂️
🔭 🧍♂️
ye
that's in bortle 5
only shot of the Milky Way I got
ik, it was the only bortle 5 close to me in less than an hour
Sombero Galaxie only 30s total exposure
This was my phone in b9, 5 minutes only since it was more of a test
Very possible under good conditions
Ah ok but how much exposure is to much?
More is better
You maybe meant iso
so iso over shutter speed or shutter speed over iso?
I would assume we would want a bit more noise right?
Speed over iso
I'll try stack mw when I have time but this looks very promising
You should take some darks aswell to remove noise
just testing but appreciate the tip
I only have an hour to photograph the horsehead from my backyard. 😳
Wish me luck guys
Does someone here tried to image NGC 4038/9 with a phone?
I mean, I'm sure it's possible.
With a crazy good phone camera like what the Xiaomi 12 has (the phone that Lucas Gonçalves uses), a huge reflector, and a sizable integration time, it could probably be done.
Has it ever been done before? Probably not.
Buns processing and noise aside, these are my attempts tonighy at Leo's triplets and Whirlpool galaxy. Both only got about ~30 minutes of data and my darks were weird looking, so I didn't really trust them. Improvements to come, clear skies!
Both taken using an svbony 48p 90mm on a Skywatcher Star adventure GTI. 30s subs at 800 iso. 32mm svbony eyepiece and a uv/ir filter. Samsung note 20
This is far outside my comfort zone, so I will continue to work on things. Please be constructive, I appreciate it and it makes differences for next time!
These look nice
What bortle
Bortle 4
But, I'm perfectly placed by a street light so it's probably worse
Well its still great
i had a clear night for milky way last night but completely forgot and now clearoutside is 100% red again
Very thin moon
Toenail
I'm gunna start calling it that now lmao
20 minutes on north america nebula
183x 8s, will stack at the weekend as I really gotta lock in for uni
^^ Attempting to improve on this attempt, which was my first time trying stacking. This time around I've gone with the 3x Lens but 6x digital zoom, rather than the 10x lens as i really do get hit and miss results from that
VEIL WITH A PHOONEEE!?!?!?!
Damn what bortle
b5
Very nice
Earth Shine ✨
that third image is so cool
There were thin clouds over north wales so wasn't able to get a good image
Looks like a cleaner version of my pfp without hdr
I didn’t do hdr, I just captured with AstroShader. 0,5s exposure, 50pic and ISO 5000, than I just did sharping and here we go
B8 sky with NYC light pollution
my best phone MW, 16 mins untracked from my backyard in a b6/7, i had to crop a bunch bc of my home and a tree
Bortle 3 on iphone 30s
yup lol
w
ty
rip (camera barely focused)
Rigjt then how do I clean my eyepiece 😭 🥀
Very carefully with a microfiber cloth or find some way to blow air on it. DO NOT use compressed air
I think they're just dust spots
why not compressed air?
I'm not actually sure but I've heard from other people it can ruin your mirrors and lenses
how would it ruin the lens of an eyepiece if you're using it normally?
like obviously don't press the nozzle right onto the glass of the eyepiece
but holding it away a few inches idk how that would damage it
❌
never use a microfiber cloth
sealed lens wipes or air only for quick cleaning
and for better cleaning the normal soapy water
I'm not too sure tbh
It's usually fine if you are super careful
maybe, maybe for lenses. I would not use a microfiber on a mirror
Yeah not on a mirror
better to wash mirrors with filtered water (if unfiltered mineral sediment might build up on mirrors surface if not dried properly)
a brand new one yeah
I actually saw someone say once that it's genuinely better to use your fingers to wipe particles off the mirror while running it lightly under water, since your fingers can instantly feel any particles and swipe them off carefully; using a cloth, you might not feel the particles, and then press too hard on them, potentially scratching the mirror
don't know how tried and true that is, but I've heard it from some people
For some reason the denoised image looks weirder than the wider field mine which wasn’t
Just gonna make a copy pasta every time someone asks
Setup:
Celestron Nexstar 8SE (On EQ Wedge)
iPhone 14 Pro (with camera app AstroShader)
No other editing software used
Bortle: 6
The look amazing for the setup, congrats
No toenail today, cloudy
anglesey june 2024
Beehiver Cluster 30s
Moon 22% last night
Wow what scope?
I love that you can see the Carina Nebula here
I think I've caught several larger ones in sone of my images
does this count lol
sunspots through eclipse glasses
also captured 4076, seen faintly in these photos
reference
I just took this with my phone, this is the best sun photo I have taken
Well, I took multiple photos and stacked them
someone try and photograph a protoplanetary nebula
Whats that
Ooh
Those dim long ones
A protoplanetary nebula or preplanetary nebula (PPN, plural PPNe) is an astronomical object which is at the short-lived episode during a star's rapid evolution between the late asymptotic giant branch (LAGB)[a] phase and the subsequent planetary nebula (PN) phase. A PPN emits strongly in infrared radiation, and is a kind of reflection nebula. ...
newborn stars
probably
They are so hard to capture even with a pro setup
What phone? Higher resolution than s23 ultra
What.
not really dim
They are compared to the others
Yea apparently
p
d
There's a lot in Orion yes but most are proto planetary disks
Very easy to photograph
If you have a 5" or bigger
Samsung A13
I managed to get two with my 4.5" now that I realize
They're just barely there
I need better seeing (and possibly more int)
But that's for next orion season
Wait no those are herbig haro objects
It’s possible even with 4-inch. This was taken with my 114/900mm
I have your same scope damn
Well, a 4 inch scope and an insanely good camera
1, 2, or 3?
Also got an objectively better image than all of em
Yea it kinda does look better
WAIT WHAT
Yo?
INSANE
can i see a single 15sec exposure?
damn u might have beat me in sharpness, nice! get some more int or else
ill try too
Good luck with that
Quick 20sec exposure 1600 Iso jpeg tho🥲
gogot this with my phone and a 60 mm spotting scope ..
All that’s needed is to beat your brightness/detail.. game on
i got a cam now so im gonna get way better pics
ill also soon get a mount
thanks for the idea
data not bad but you phone is tilted, its visible at these areas
its real btw
?
ik
i thought something else nvm
studies have compleately derailed me on the social side
maaan
really impressive bro
i study most of my day, very less chating with friends, i dont even go outside for most days, today was the first time i went outside in 2 months
oh u use 8"sct but still
damn
gtg
cya
well it was very hard to place it exact ... clouds were rolling in ...
i kinda processed it on startrails app and then oon photoshop.... its okish
got this quick footage too ...
i think that's the shadow of the chromatic aberration... i used capcut to get rid oof it ...
Want me to process this for u?
well i got even better footage, i u can then id be very great full
@potent shore https://we.tl/t-dbURUKKpY7
1 file sent via WeTransfer, the simplest way to send your files around the world
https://limewire.com/d/dLUYy#9o4I4ayL0Y .. alalternative link
When im done ill send it
ok , thanks 😊
The top is a bit blurry, I'm guessing because the phone shifted or something like that, but the rest of it looks fine
The edges are a bit off if you do zoom in
But generally its good
I used this footage instead because the other one didnt really work for me well
I see
@potent shore yo, thanks man its better than what i could process on my phone loll
UUM , what software ddid u use toz process it
So I used PIPP to process the video by keeping the moon centered in the video, then I stacked it in Autostakkert, afterwards sharpened it using Registax. I didn't use any mobile apps though. But, it could improve if u did
Not bad just looks a bit over processed
My sky... sqm 19.5~20 , brottle 5
4 second exposure
its centered on the galactic core but sadly no visible milky way
Also seeing was awful and had to do lucky imagining, here are some bad shots I took
Is the thin layer the lunar exosphere?
Does the moon have one of those?
ok that sounded condescending
That was a genuine question lol
The Moon's atmosphere is about 10¹⁴ times less dense than Earth's at sea level
But yes it does have one
I think it's just your hand shaking or smth
Or the moon moving
I try hdr moon just with Phone
Looks great!
Adding more int time, and doin composite pics
I'm stacking my north america nebula photos now
Like our passports?
How low was your iso
some passports are red
I'm gonna use the phrase "lucky imagining" in the future
Mars and a cluster
I actually took a picture of that, I forgot to download it off my camera though
Praesepe
I can't remember the name lol
Looks nice, you could have done a composition, a stack of mars and a better pic of the cluster
timelapses i took on flight back from istanbul
How long was a exposure? You didn’t got any stats trails.
Sunset from 2 years ago: https://youtu.be/-VGzP7NmQSQ
taken from Camlica hill
celestron powerseeker 60az, 20mm eyepiece
huawei p40 pro
No wait 3
Maybe 5 second, idk the video doesn't save exposure information
An extremely crude proof-of-concept stack of NGC 7000, I wanna eventually shoot a few hours of clean data since this was shot through a thin layer of clouds
Roughly 40 minutes of intergration with an SWSA 2i and Galaxy S22 Ultra
Wowza
Single image in camera app
I should print an image of gru and put it in my eyepiece
Full Moon night with South Crux and Alpha Centauri

i got some videos of that last crater i was so zoomed in i couldn’t fit it all lol
I just noticed something weird, the craters at the south pole are red
But not in a chromatic aberration type way
Yea
Is it something with the photo of an actual feature, because I couldn't find anything anywhere on it
Lemme check too
Did you use any ai processing or auto processing stuff?
Nope, all I did was decrease the whites and increase the texture
No raw, but here is the original image
I checked it out, looks fine
Its there on this image too
I am assuming you took this pic with the generic camera app
Btw good pic
Thanks
I'm at a loss, if it's not chromatic aberration or iron deposits, then what's goin on?
Might just be a artefact, but it's weird that it's specifically in those craters
I'll ask my astronomy teacher and see if he knows
I think that's chromatic aberration, I sometimes get it too
Ok
Jpg and raw
Close up and Ina attempt
great attempt, but i think ina wouldnt be possible with a small scope and unmoded phone
anyone here who has an useless phone (which has a fixed focus camera like depth camera, or very cheap camera)can mod it
i havent tried it but theoretically, if we remove the lens, we should be able to mod it, the only catch beign apps like openlivestacker and dss dont detect depth cameras. The way i knew my phone didnt have a fake camera was when i used lmc8.4 and selected the second camera manually
I found Venus in Daylight
I got like a pixel of it, I think that on something like a super moon (this moon was specifically a micro moon, where it's at it's furthest point) it could maybe be done, I also didn't use the Barlow because I forgor
This is the size comparison (image by @sand furnace #🔭-astrophotography-chat message )
I see
You got demoted?
Or am i dreaming
People keep saying that, I was never a mini nerd 😭
Aww man
I said that too, apparently I'm not the only crazy one
i kinda remember u being mini nerd too lmao
mandela effect ahh
whats that
When everyone remembers something a certain way, even though it was never like that
buck i think we all remember it that way because you were mini nerd and you just forgot you were mini nerd
Lunar crepuscular rays
My phone doesn't have high enough dynamic range, it looked so much better with naked eye
Btw these pics are really good
Fully Progressed on my IPhone with InShot and Snapseed
is this with only phone?
phone and binos
i see
Phone through dslr viewfinder counts as phone astrophoto?
New strategy????
Wouldn't recommend 😂 unstable, and the quality ain't nearly as good as the images u get from the actual dslr haha
ya ik it was a joke
Mb 😭
1 hour exposure of full moon
am i in heaven?
Incredible
Thanks guys, i knew my hardwork of capturing it really worth it
I need to know the story behind this incredible idea, tell me, what enticed you to attempt something so extraordinarily difficult?
I saw a seeing
The seeing guide me
To capture the moon for 1 hour
Till realize, my guidance was wrong
dad called me to dinner while i was tryna do smth
This month's full moon
I'm surprised on how it isn't blown out lol
U need 1 hour just like mine
To show the hidden crater

Moon Among the Clouds
Captured with MotionCam Pro using the Xiaomi 12 through my 114/900.
that's neat, seeing the clouds pass in front of it
the mineral moon colour edit looks great
is that how you capture your deepskyimages too?
For dso, Deepskycamera pro...
no shutter lag?
Thank you
I don't have any issues with shutter lag... I believe it's only a problem with sub-exposures shorter than 1 second. Since I take 55-second subs, there's no delay
I see
V4 is out 😃
Make sure to update
#motioncam #directpreview #version4
Now with highlight recovery/reconstruction 😎
With highlight recovery and full sensor res
dude that's so cool
genuinely looks like something you'd see in a movie trailer, or some kind of AceCombat cinematic
fr it’s hella cool
It's so weird to see the moon upside down, one of the main reasons I want to go to New Zealand is for the night sky, it would be so surreal to see features I have never seen
Or at angles I've never seen
Well, you'd see the same features since the moon is tidally locked
But it would be weird to see it in a completely different orientation, yeah
i mean you can see a bit more of the south of the moon cant you
or is it too far for a noticeable difference
It looks about the same
Captured the Milky Way Core this morning c: (got some help from hugo_astr in removing gradients)
Used Nero ai denoiser to remove the walking noise though
Circle
Wrong! It's actually a Googolplexagon
nuh uh its an apeiragon
no
send him into intergalactic space
no galaxy you pass will be able to catch you

True
I need for school
Thanks for the reminder
how will you get to school if ur between galaxy clusters
You use Stellarium, duh 🙄
jk
I made a kind of sunshade, but for my phone. I modeled it to fit my eyepiece exactly, so it fits perfectly on the eyecup... No more stray light hitting the eyepiece element!
is it gonna come in focus with the eyepiece? (for the fully illuminated eyepiece projection)
Sunset
thats beautifull
Milky Way from Bortle 4 Skies
I wanted to photograph the sun but the Planes got in the way
Are those frecce tricolori?
Bodes and Cigar Galaxy Live view! 1s and ISO 32000 b6
clearly, because they haven't slammed into each other
Frecce still flies tho
Bodes Galaxy 22min But Field Rotation
Can you provide me with raw data plz , wanma try to stack
Yes sure, But I have 21 Tif Pictures how I send?
Select them, zip them, upload to google drive, change the permissiom to anyone with link, send the link to me
Ok I will try
Great, i might be able to fix the field rotation
Single 30s shot edited in lightroom
I also have a bunch of 15s subs I'm gonna stack at the weekend
Thx will take a look in a min
No problem
Fixed the field rotation:
first is mean and second is sigma clipped
Oh Thank you! but is it normal that the frames are so dark?
yeah
proper streaching and processing should give good result, i am processing rn
Ok Thank you
here you go
Yo! you even corrected Coma for me
yep, gtg
Thanks a lot, What program you use?
For stacking Astrosurface
Processing-
Siril for star recomposition (corrected coma),streching etc
Seti sharpening suite (to sharpen, denoise and make stars tighter)
Gimp for final touches
Ok that what I called Processing 😅
damn they're out of focus
oh well
you need to zoom in to notice it
May also just be diffraction
nah thats definitely out of focus
M13! 10min total exposure. I use a 1,5x Barlow lens to get closer
great img, what equipment did u use?
114p/500 Telescope, 20mm eyepiece with a 1,5x Celestron Omni Barlow lens and my IPhone 13 with AstroShader and I am in b6
nice, ill also try when i move to b4 next month
Very Nice! I have to Drive 90km to drive for a dark b4😭
😭
the place i am going to has most year rainfall, idk if i would have clear skies often 😭
Yeah but might be good. I wish luck for you
90km???? Where do you live middle of Tokyo?????
90km for a dark area
Ig Shropshire is just close
I am sometimes in Istanbul and is even more worse
Cna I have the data I've never tried to process a cluster and have 0 data on my own
This is what you get when you live in a metropolitan area of 23.5 million people
Js go in the sea
That’s true
Good idea
But uh even that is light polluted
I’m in the pink/white 😭😭😭
Thats sad
I’ve been to a Bortle 2 but it was a full moon
It’s a 5 hour drive
I feel like no one has worse lp than me
yeah i always round up half or one whole bortle when using LP map
With a SQM measure Maschine you can see the Real Bortel in Real time
Yeah I would be a B 9/10 then
M6227020800?
Omega Centauri timelapse from Bortle 7 to 8 Skies
Im in this one
Aww man
But honestly last night felt like all the light pollution just went away
Single 16 second exposure of m82
Do they have a high surface brightness?
First time getting the milky way with my pixel 8 pro
What phone and what telescope?
Pixel 8 pro and a Celestron 130 slt
Ah ok, the Pixel phones do have pretty great cameras from what I've heard
Yea that's one of the main reasons I got the phone
Coma Cluster 25.6 min of exposure
try to ignore purple on right and left of image its a infrared reflection from the phones distance sensor.
One of the best phone captures I've seen
M82 and M81 stacked and processed 100x16s 26.66 minutes
each galaxy individually cropped and at the same scale
Crescent nebula 50x16s 13.3 minutes

Yeah makes way more sense
Very impressive bro
So much stars
I'm gonna have to lock in but this bad weather is killing me
Phone ap has sooo much potential
if that's bortle 7 then I must live in bortle 26 because if I set my iso to 1600 it'd look like I took a picture of the core of the sun
sunspots
any optical tool at all? Telescope, binos, or was this just phone camera through solar film?
I want a new phone so bad but almost all of new phones have something AI in them
I don't AI processing I don't AI generate I take pictures and if they're not .raw I don't want them
Reminder to vote in round 2 of the thread competitions #1369694419963613295 message
