#Planetary Imaging
1 messages · Page 52 of 1
2nd image is a closer match.
nowheere in the video i took does the moon go off screen yett the tiff it produced does
Probably due to planet (COG) mode being selected.
need. more. apperture.
OHHHHHHHHH
44GB is about right for lunar lol
how much are your jupiter vids
crazy to think you got the same detail on jupiter's moons as i did on our moon
eeehh, not quite that good. Probably similar to a Moon photo taken with an unaided phone camera.
I will still never get over how good your images are
Get imx585 😎
662
He’d need to live in space to make use of a bigger scope
Put that scope on the moon
24” haha
Holy
2 smaller moons on the left of IO in the last image, cool.
getting surface detail on the moons is crazy , amazing work
nice
I think you should make the image darker
i understand that but at the same time
this image was taken in broad daylight
and i like my images to be as acurate as possible to what acautally happened, but thats just me
but thanks for the feedback
Oh really
Well then I think you did a good job
i wanted to get a shot of broad daylight jupiter but i saw a bunny outside and i went in and edited the photo and i forgot about setting up my scope so heres my jupiter
task failed successfully. when the css was overhead i was still trying to figure out alignment. slewed to it at around 45 degrees and got ~20 frames i am lucky
oh wow dude, good job!
thanks, im gonna try using a 1.5x barlow next time (which is what set me back today)
Awesome
thx
You want histogram at 80-90%
That’s true
Yeah keep it how it is and make a Jupiter stack seperate
Was 9 mins ago anyways
How did it go?
Yea for transits you never shoot them together
Gitcha
Yup
I’m uploading the file rn
Nice
I’ll use pipp in about 15ish minutes to see
I’m also setting up for dso
I saw the booster re entry for the space x launch
Do I just use the optimize for iss in pipp
guess who didnt get a single frame of the css
it was a really bad pass anyway so its fine
unless this is it
What I do is just do like lunar or solar surface
ok
Then just separate all the frames individually and then manually search for the ISS in the frames
Then only use the hand few from the flyby
so you turn the video into tiff files then look through them all?
Yea I mean you should have a rough estimate on when the pass was
It took me like 2 minutes to find the frames the ISS were in on mine
If that
My video was only like 700 frames
I started my video like a minute early so I had around 15k frames
I mean still shouldn’t be that difficult tbh I mean if there’s an easier way someone chime in but that’s just what I did
I have some good Passovers soon 84 degree Tiangong on Thursday. 70 degree iss pass on the 26th. 58 degree iss pass on the 27th. And a 74 degree Tiangong pass on the 29th
Heck yea
hopefully i dont mess them up
I mean I’ve messed up 90% of my ISS shots
I just happened to get incredibly lucky beyond belief with my shot
You’ll miss some and get some it is what it is
Last ISS shot with the moon I attempt had my exposure at 8ms 😭
Oof
The only time I got the iss is when it was cloudy so I’m very surprised I even got it. Messed up my settings
Looks like it was taken off a 100 yr old camera
Look at those bands!
thats insane
planetary people help me PLEASE
i CANT stack my lunar video
any help is appreciated
autostakkerte is outputing this
Stabilize with PIPP then crop in autostakkert
Before you stack
Edges don’t stack well if you can’t fit the entire planetary disc
i tried my best to have the full moon in frame for as long as possible
is this bad focus or atmosphere
IT GAVE ME A WORSE IMAGE
LIKE BRO WHAT
same region on the 5 minute stack
i was out of focus wasnt i...
What scope?
I should be able to get this how do you do occultations though?
I mean like anything that involved 2 separate bodies, for a great picture you just shoot them at different times
Shoot Venus, then shoot the moon and combine
Oh is it not a good idea to shoot it during the day
What?
The occulation
Wdym
It will be daytime for me when it happens
Same
Is it still worth attempting
Obviously
I wanna see Venus pop out from behind the moon
Wow
I just got this in daylight idk why you wouldn’t be able to do that as well
Unless you have cl*uds
I was worried about the sun but I just looked and it’s not close to the moon
Also last night I took a closeup of a crater on the moon but when I try to use pipp it doesn’t stabilize it. This is my first time doing lunar also
Would still be able to do it
Easily
two filter wheels?
horrifying
Would lwk not recommend looking at the sun without a solar filter
for a second i thought your pfp was lord farquad 😭
also yeah you are a stupid for that
did you melt your secondary
Bro what are you doing
melting away the secondary obv
Aye nice one
👀
how bruh 😭
What does vaporized metal smell like?
I won’t call you dumb but that is not a smart thing to do.
Tried to burn a paper lol
Did it work?
Should've probably tried this with a cheap magnifying glass.
Yea
fat freznel
Fr
What did you expect ??
The one thing you should never do, you did it
natural selection
Literally the first thing anybody learns when they get their first telescope
Those dobs come with a tag telling you not to do it.
https://youtu.be/YcLrnr6cgWA
.
I cant even feel bad because this is such an obvious mistake
you shouldnt feel bad for him at all.
what did you think was going to happen
He was gonna see the core of the sun for a second.
Respectfully this is idiotic
Bro's gonna get demoted from mini nerd to protostar premium
Honestly he should be for that…
sonion
@proper girder 😛
Or give us all nerd role.
i keep mine in my phone case so I don't forget
Mossy, curve our grade
How'd you forget it in the first place?
is this an allsky lens on your guidecam
i thought he had a c8 though or did he just destroy a brand new dob
i can see its shadow
yes new dob
on my planetary cam yes
warranty covers doing something clearly stated not to do?
he should be banned.
Honestly for posting that
Why
can i dm?
yes
Very nice
I have a tiangong solar transit coming up in a couple weeks, could be rad
I got an Iss solar transit one time in ‘23, one of my coolest things I’ve done I think
so what happened here made me think. would imaging planets close to the sun be safe if the sun stays out of the maximum fov of the scope? i believe my scope is around 2 degrees disregarding vignetting. closest ive gotten to the sun without a filter was 7 degrees alt, would 5 degrees in alt az be too much
sounds risky but idk
Idk I’ve done mercury before and that was close
im gonna use a 10 degree limit to be safe
My first image with new astrocam
Touptek imx178
Sw130PDS + Sharpstar 0.95x
25ms 300/1200 frames stacked
||🧼 ||
Nice first pic fellow 178 user
nice oneee lets goo
jupiter is kinda low right now, i miss my perfect seeing jupiter
and now its all jelly seeing lol
@winter moat @rain mauve Tysm guys!
I need to get Pluto on my 3D printed mount
I believe I can get with with like 10 minutes of integration on my 4" frac
🤫 its peak
That it would burn? (It didnt)
Just use a damn lens for that
You were really determined to burn that piece of paper..
Yea😔
lwk dumbass
i think he just trolling the file name is a screenshot
respectfully
Yeah cuz its a ss from the video i recorded
THIS IS PEAK
My best moon ever
Minimum wavelets and processing
@flint siren can confirm thats my scope
was this just for shits and giggles or did you genuinely point it at the sun thinking your secondary (or primary, honestly) mirror wouldn't be damaged
even when i'm pointing at less than a degree from the Sun it's less risky than that
I was just really really really wanted to burn the paper. Also mirrors didnt get dameged
You do less than a degree away without filters?
I have a system to reject the Sunlight beam
Wait how?
Built it for the 4th of April
Ohh
Alright well if you wish to utilize the sun for any arsonistic reasons in the future, I'd recommend a fresnel lens or even just a magnifying glass. Much less risky to you and your telescope. Or just be normal like the rest of us and use DIY napalm, I guess
I would still check your secondary for damage, could have a pockmark etched into it from the focused sunlight
Well if 200x mag aint anough to burn paper? Why would a magnifying glass do it?
Nothing looked wrong when k checked
or just stop trying to burn that poor piece of paper 🥀
Magnification isn't the technique, rather surface area.
Ahh
A magnifying glass magnifies far less than an 80mm refractor, but the refractor will have a harder time because the magnifying glass technically has a larger aperture (assuming it's bigger than 80mm of course)
Well i used an 8" dob. Not gonna find any 8" magnifying glasses
it doesnt reach focus
I'm sure it exists somewhere
you can easily burn something with less than a 4" lens
i used a 25mm lens
use this and you can burn a hole in anything
Or i just build a sun oven 💔
who tf is owen
idk whats your logic here telescopes arent made for setting fires
you should be deeply ashamed of yourself.
Oven
yeah exactly, just be normal like the rest of us and use a BIC lighter and an entire can of diethyl ether (please do not)
30mm aperatuere 17.5mm fl
i tried to diy a jet engine and it made a little part of the sidewalk black
I've always wanted to try that, it's surprisingly not difficult to do (as far as actual construction goes)
just need metal with a high enough melting point that the jet engine won't melt itself
which, obviously, is the difficult part
I burned leaves with a magnifying glass when I was younger.
As have millions of people.
Important part is that you use a magnifying glass.
i used a soda can and rubbing alcohol it was so scuffed
do a john dobson
he used the sun to test the fl of his blanks
that's awesome lol
i was an evil kid i shined the light ontop of the opening of anthill
Clean, I personally would increase exposure but that’s me
@ruby compass y u look like a logitek mouse
Time is your friend, probably smaller than that
I like it
@coarse aspen ^
today's saturn
i have to get 3x barlow, 2x barlow leads me to undersampled,4x barlow leads me into oversampled lmao
Awesome
everything does
how are your eyes?
Didnt look into it
how do you focus on the moon?
Live view in toupsky app
😑
Here's my pic of the moon with my quattro 150 and cc with the 178
Niice
Love how it looks
Thanks
bruh.
I like the colour very nice
Thx
Yeah, I underimasted the Hadley XD, it's super sharp when collimate properly
Thanks anyway
Can anyone try to process this?
Here is my try on phone
Son💔
Very smooth
Love it
Did he get banned 😭😭😭
Great news
glad that nazi is gon
bye bye neo nazi looksmaxxer no personality boot licker guy
I mean you cannot be that stupid…
Poor thing lol
the scope you mean right?
Logitech mouse 😂😂😂
Probably you can 😆
No, just poor guy.
Yeah he's terribly stupid, but pretty sure it's just his environnement.
maybe
Ok to call him stupid but have pity
Yuh
LEAVE HIM ALONEEEEEE
He posted a photo pointing his dob at the sun
I KNOW
he freaked up his scope
that should be enough
you dont need to add insult to injury
Agree to disagree
huh
but he nazi :(
HE IS?
yeah, yoships is saying its an environmental factor or whatever
not like a self chosen one
well self chosen but having hand moved towards by the environment
you havent seen the image have you
i cant send anything 100mb usually
Dang
i saw the dobson with smoke coming out of it
what'd he send
wasnt on this servwr
on other social media
but people have neen seding that phto of what he posted
yeah get him off the planet
Holy bipolar
its so beautiful
So glad I exposed devtigr to other people lol
if i remember correctly his pfp was the one looksmaxing pdf?
yeah
he is a loon maxer
bob sent me screenshots, i think u sent them origianly
oh wait the look maxer in his pfp is him
he anihlated his jawline
I did lol
into scariness
humble of you to assume he has a jawline
it looks like a logtek mouse
unless he was faking it
lmao
probably not, people who think looks are everything tend to be really self centered and stupid
Hm
does someone here know if planetry with a 533 sensor works good
would work
Pixel size matters
and i would get good images with my skymax 102 on a gti
102mm aperture won't let you resolve much
here this is with my 114@f12 cc with the Same Pixel size
no barlow
oh
It's far from native resolution
The camera is ok
with 2x barlow or 1.5x maybe 😭
Yea
and the scope 😭
This is with the same scope but the Neptune-C with 2.4 μm Pixel size and no barlow
I'm already in the good sampling territory with F12 and 2.4μm
Imo Overprocessed
so the 3.76 pixels wont be very good?
you need barlow
ik but i wanted to get some more cloudband detail so i pushed the wavelets
Yee
bc this is a bit too soft imo (with iphone 17 and no tracking and no barlow and 10mm eyepice btw)
You need 1.7 Barlow for 6x rule
great red chunk
fr 😭
how much barlow do i need for 3444.4444mm fl on a 10" mirror
0.5x barlow
depends on camera senmsor pixel size and ur location
Lemme calculate
what pixel size
2.9um
1,49 barlow

i knew i was slightly off but i didnt know i was that off
Maybe an ADC would do the trick
maybe not
What latitude are you imaging from again? Looks good
35.36’
Will only get better however I will say seeing was on my side
i need one yeah
They help a ton
Mee too
POV you get a ISS transit
I’m at 40N and Saturn is reaching about 20deg during sunrise. In a couple weeks it will finally clear my atrocious treeline so I’ll get my first of the season soon I hope
how it feels watching everybody getting their first Saturn shots
r u gunna ai a thumbnail?
(context is he uses ai for his video thumbnails)
Oh hell nah
Ain’t that big a deal, idk what your problem is 😂
Ai👎 especially in a hobby that is so involved in science and authenticity
Bro I’m not using ai in my images
But you also make those “I took 10000000 photos of jupiter” captions so idk if that’ll reach you tbh
It’s a YouTube thumbnail it’s just not that deep
Idk what it is I’ve noticed a lot of Astro people use Ai for weird shit
Like pfps and thumbnails and for art/visuals in their videos
Not talking about you specifically anymore just like something I’ve noticed in the broader community
its upsetting
I understand from your pov it seems like easiest/inconsequential thing to do but if I see somebody use ai I will just not interact with the channel
So there is a portion of an audience you lose out on
Why not move the setup?
Can’t really tell anyway
I think Kenny understands the pros and cons
^
jupiter addict gone saturn addict?
Out like a mile in the woods, my house area is surrounded by trees up to about 30° and I don’t have a spot close by to drive to that would be comfortable setting up my 12” dob lol
Sometimes when I’m spending the night at a friends house I’ll set up in their backyard tho
I suppose lol, I’ve got my setup pretty much 100% mobile now
I have a 12V /AC 400 watt inverter that I can power all my stuff with using my car
The thumbnails I’d have to agree on
Building a community on YouTube is a time thing and consistent posting, not something that can be forced with the “perfect video”
Well im not trying to get 5 views on each post
john dobsons video did pretty well and it isnt marketed towards kids
Step-by-step making of A Dobsonian telescope.
And that’s legit just the YouTube demographic, my Facebook audience is mainly older people anyway
its short forms demographic mainly
Obviously a video with the guy who revolutionized telescopes is going to do well
I mean that’s just not true lol
I have the numbers and comments and interactions to back it up
I do think that there is a portion of the Astro internet that should be able to introduce younger/the average person to the hobby but I honestly never watch those lol I just get annoyed by the vocabularies they use
idkk only 1 of my views was by a kid
Out of the 30?
yeahhh
yeah
idk, youtube should have more adults than children
like logically
and im sure it does
Who knows
I mean your video got 100 views lol
If you’re trying to go for more of an Astrobackyard/aj mcarthy presence in the space then you are accomplishing that
Literally my biggest ick with that though is the “I took 10000000 photos and this is what i got” trope it literally drives me insane every time and I will die on this hill
lol
Like just tell them you took a 5 minute video
asrobackyard after saying the wrong thing 13 times in a row:
i remember he kept saying something wrong
svbony!!!
he keeps pronouncing svbony weird
Also because of the somewhat fragile trust between astrophotographers and the general population, if you intentionally take something simple and try to make it sound super outlandish that’s going to make more people go “nah see yeah that’s insane they’re all faking it”
I mean obviously, it was a bad vid lol
convolution
Whereas explaining your process in the honest way is just better for everyone
Ye
i have started watching youtube for entertainment
This video takes you inside the wreck of Britannic, the sister ship of Titanic, lying nearly 400 feet below the surface. Alongside legendary explorer Richie Kohler, we enter a ship built to the same design as Titanic, but hidden from view for more than a century.
At this depth, there is no room for mistakes. Time is extremely limited, the envir...
the clickbait got me
I think you’re trading active audience with inactive audience
People that will comment and ask questions vs kids that will click out after 5 mins
do i dive the brittanic some day
thats why you add ragebait after the first 3 mins
Well yea that’s the point
Like I can post a short and be fine but I really enjoy filming long form as well and I need a stable audience for that
That’s what I’m trying to build
lemme check my demographic for my main account
someone disliked my video
how will i cope
the most i got was like 17k likes only 😭
Awesome 1960 lunar atlas with hundreds of cool prints in here
the close up looks realy good
you sir need to clean your imaging train
I'm still a month out from 20deg, let alone 30.
Haha that’s a video through the eyepiece with my phone, I’ve cleaned and cleaned and can’t figure out what’s making those dusts spots, taken stuff apart too
This is the camera screen
May 19th
wdym
what scope r u using
point your cam at the edge of the moon and focus until the blur is gone
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
do you have reddit? ive seen a lot of planetary stuff go viral there. deep sky not so much
maybe andromeda
today saturn
where are the stars? 😂
There are no stars I believe lol
They aren't "back". They're almost always there, just sometimes more prominent.
Anyway I wanna ask, with 4 inch and good seeing filters are necessary?
would a 10" resolve them?
Can see some minor spokes at lower-left here. Underside of the ring.
spinny mf
can you send a picture of your scope pls?
Is this with ir filter?
doesnt astrobiscut have a small one
how big is it?
yeah 642nm BP.
is that a cassegrain?
i see a nazymuth
i thought the damn mounting pole was a focus toob
Very good
So many pixels 😭😭😭 how do you get this kind of sampling, seeing must have been amazing.
Tom you use that filter with the Uranus-M right?
That was f/17 only. And yeah Uranus-M
I look forward to Tom’s photos later this year of Saturn, will look like Hubble if he gets good seeing
hubble bubble
Awesome
I’m just worried it will still be to light outside
It’s worth a shot
I’ll most likely be able to see Venus and Jupiter
If I am able to see it what gain would be good
Nova said he faintly see it when the sun was -4 degrees under the horizon and -0.06 magnitude so I think I have a chance
what settings should i use for an iss moon transit? just the normal setting you'd use to capture the moon?
also is a low pass iss transit even worth it? ~8deg from the horizon, or will it be too small to see?
im thinking of attaching my dslr on my evo 6
What’s the ISS angular size
~16.8 arcseconds if stellarium is right
oh
20.10"
But based off what you said, a 6 inch with a dslr, and 8 degrees from the horizon, that junk would be diabolically small
Yea
That’s insanely small
Especially with a dslr and 6 inch
Butttt that definitely doesn’t mean you can’t image it
Go for it!
I may be the worst planetary imager out there
I had an 84 degree css pass but I left my roi to large
And I shot at 16fps
Meaning I missed it
🤦
But it’s okay since I now found out how to shoot max roi at 76 fps so if I make the mistake again it may be salvageable
Bruh
I have another good pass soon though
youre good first time i tried i didnt click record
Chair for scale. Cover on because it’s day.
Goodluck with stealing that thing
holy shi
how small is the smallest thing you could resolve on the moon?
like 1 km?
Slightly less than, yeah
okay and lets say you added a 5x barlow, could you see the apollo landing sites?
adding a Barlow doesn’t magically increase how much you can resolve
Your capability in resolution is based off of aperture (and wavelength)
A Barlow just let’s you use that resolution
Should your camera not be able to due to it’s pixel size
^
Also for a telescope to be able to resolve them it would have to have an aperture of 100+ meters, which would be impossible to use at its potential under the atmosphere
I don’t think Hubble can
You guys just leave them outside?
Ooof
You’d need around 70m of aperture to be able to distinguish the lander by a single pixel
Hubble is like 28x too small for that lol
Well yeah but also no air
Yeah imagine a 100m telescope under the atmosphere
The maximum it allows is around 0.6 meters

You can't.
As mr cassegrain said, the barlow doesn't give you the ability to resolve smaller objects that you wouldn't be able to see normally.
Not true lol
I mean I don’t think, there are over meter scopes for a reason
If the math limited them, they wouldn’t make them
Yeah but they are limited by the atmosphere
Are you saying that anything above 0.6 m is pointless?
Probably more if they’re at high altitude
No it’s not pointless lol
1,060mm scope here
Then what’s your point on that size?
From most places you can’t really use telescopes larger than 20" at their full potential resolution
That resolution is insane though
AO
ddang...
I didn’t know adaptive optics worked on planatary
o
Yeah that’s like a testing phase I think idek
You can’t buy it yet but it’s under a million haha
Tom should try this if it ever gets accessible
Pffff some millionaire pull up
Meter class scopes aren't generally used for planetary, but rather DSO for increased signal. And the obsys that do image planets (usually in mid range IR) have adaptive optics or are interferometers. These observing missions like Pic Du Midi in 2017 are very rare. Also, I've played with the Pic Du Midi raw data and the final results get their detail from NIR. The visible wavelengths are very average, especially the blue and green filter data.
It's 80k, so no lol
Maybe in 2050
This is 80 000 €
Don’t worry tom, if I win the lottery I’m buying us both ASA 1000’s and adaptive optics
Maybe 52” dobs actually
"tom"....
thats an odd way to spell @elder venture
52" dobs
Round it up to a 60 for good measures
I don’t think they make 60”, but I have seen 50 inch
On this website
I’ll show you
Im selling mine :(
What dude??? Why?
I need change
boi no way they’re using. 1500mm mak as a SPOTTER😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
MORE ACTUALLY
400€
To what?
Not the SCT as a finder scope 😭
Money in french
Any feedback?
It could mean I need money too
Sharpen slightly more
Actually don’t sharpen, do weiner
Try 75 and 110% brightness
ritchardson lucy 🤤
Love it
its amazing for deep sky too
Astrosurface
Send the tiff
non processed?
No that photo
Well for the entire moon its up to you but i'd see how it looked at full fov not zoomed in
idk which is better lowk
you lowkk did good
Single stack IR642
good for a 10"
This is on an OCS camera, for anyone that has the Uranus – M, how much better would it have been with that?
20-30%
I know the percent, but I mean realistically.
somewhat noticable
Hopfully
I’m buying it soon
I like wavelet decomp for Saturn because it rotates so much slower than Jupiter
You can get lots of integration with NIR
I like how wavelets in siril work
i would print it out and hang it on a wall
mueen
All my good passes for css and iss are going to be covered by clouds by the look of it 😢
Hopefully I can get a little more of Jupiter
very good :)
well I might be moving to Paris this summer
and if I ain't, I want to go EQ
and if I am, no space for it
ig we waiting next month
hey can you please tell me how to focus on rhe moon? i’ve been trying to get a good image of the moon for days now
What telescope and camera are you using?
If it's a reflector, did you collimate it?
its a mak 127 and nikon d5100
i dont think its collimation because i literally cant collimate it
it has no screws
If it's a skywatcher one I think it is possible to do: https://www.cloudynights.com/forums/topic/959536-collimation-with-my-sw-127-mak/
However probably don't get too deep into it since as far as I remember maks hold collimation pretty well, so it's probably not the main issue.
With a DSLR you can usually just use the liveview to zoom into some crater shadow or the edge of the moon and focus on that feature, going in and out of focus until it looks as sharp as possible.
An issue you could be having is that when you click on the shutter button the vibration from your finger would affect the image. Try setting a delay before it actually captures the image if possible, I don't quite know how to do that with your specific cam, but should be in it's manual somewhere.
If you want to test collimation, take a picture of an unfocused star exactly in the center of your view and see how centered the shadow is in it.
Also if you are using a barlow or a diagonal, it's probably best to not use them just to make things simpler to figure out since they could be the issue.
btw do you have a picture of the moon as an example of what you are getting?
i do that maj
it doesn’t work
likr
is that a single frame or a stacked picture?
5 minute stack of the best 50%
Did you sharpen it in registax or something similar?
that many frames/pictures stacked together will look pretty bad unless you sharpen it.
You could easily use a much smaller % of frames to stack, since the moon is pretty bright so you won't have much noise
i tried but it just looked like the oversharpened emoji
try stacking around 50 of the best frames/pictures and see what happens, were you using registax to sharpen?
how long videos u guys recommend for shooting Venus?
yes
registax buns
this is cool but the moon occulates like a thousand stars every night, what makes this one so special
This one isn't really special, the ft daylight was just cool.
I have one that's better regarding this coming.
yeah i agree its really cool lol
but like could you get an occulation of a nebula?
or galaxy
but you dont even shoot them at the same time
they wouldn’t be in focus
m42 you have like maybe a chance
you can just about shoot it in the day
I don't think it's in the ecliptic
maybe with an 850nm filter you will have a chance
oh yea true
just wait for something to hit the moon hard enough to change its orbit
we die
M45 best options
Yeah i was there when one time the Moon got into the pleiades at zenith, but i wasn't aiming for that at the time.
Though a star cluster is interesting, there's a way more interesting to do with stars occultation.
By the end of the day you'll see.
I remember that happing but was distracted by a girl… that night 😒
someone here needs to try this. only photo i can find online is from a seestar and thats not during broad daylight. i would attempt this but my fov for c8 + asi662mc is too small and my dslr is not full spectrum
i dont think i want to try
thats like 25 degree separation its fine but oh well
I tried to stack a video of a lunar crater I got a few days ago but looks like a mess. I can’t even make out the moon. I tired to stabilize it in pipp but I didn’t really understand what I was doing so I probably didn’t do it correctly. Any help would be nice. I don’t have the image of it at the moment since I’m not home
been there, gotta make pipp save the stack as individual frames
switch from planetary to lunar/solar full disc or partial thingy
fixed it for me
I was using pipp to just align the frames then use auto stakkert to stack
Not sure if that correct for lunar
whats wrong?
u just have to turn the sun off
thats not a problem
ah thanks i forgot
Did you run it through PIPP first?
Yes but I don’t think it did anything
Upload the video to a Google Drive and send it to me

And give me permission to access it
Will do when I get home
Let me know
Can you do it now?
That’s okay
File is uploading
Okay cool

Can’t do it sorry, 6gb is way more than I can handle, will need to get home cuz I’m on a hotspot rn
I shot at 112fps for like 2mins
ive never done lunar craters

You have a 10” right
My images aren’t even insanely good as well idk why they took mine
Astro imager canon event: getting your images randomly stolen by children on social media
holy larp
that’s genuinely an insane person
he is fucd in the head
Yes
Im considering buying a Hubble optics 18” goto
But I wouldn’t be able to afford it until I saved every penny from working over the summer + another month or two of work
11yo me encountering futuristichub on YouTube without knowing he’d later be an integral part of my niche corner of the internet
something similar to this happened to me recently tbh
I think that a Hubble optics 16” and a Uranus-M is better than an 18” without a urnus m
I haven’t had people steal my work yet
Well, besides me but yall will get it later on
no way hold on gimme a sec
I lowkey kinda steal my own work
found out someone that was running a humongous discord server in the linux community was a pedo, at some point when i was 14 i spoke to them regularly
for like 1 year
Ouugh
yeahh
they were 30 caught sending stuff to a 15 ear old
I had inappropriate communication w a 19yr girl for a few months when I was 14
(not me luckily, i was spared)
I would say it’s terrible but I’d dab up younger me
Lowkey can’t believe I was 14, 6 years ago soon

Holy

But he isn’t driving it back so nvm
Unfortunate
