#Planetary Imaging

Yeah generally it's a great tool, and the problems we attribute to AI generally originates from humans, either the user (that does not understand the limits of the tool) or the companies behind them.
Looked it up and yeah that actually is a really cool use for it
Majority of that was 1 sentence
Homework
Well that's one part where it's misused.
Have we detected elara anyone?
Whatās stopping you from doing it yourself?
i have no idea honestly. winjupos just doesnt detect files for me
if ur down to vc i could show u the problem
cant rn
hm alr
screen shot wym
alr
Wait, is this live view or is this already prosessed?
I tried to get Jupiter the other day and failed miserably lmao
Hereās my best (so far) pictures of Jupiter and Saturn
Celestron 127slt and svbony 105
I did back in 2024
Live view
Nice!
what planetary cams do you guys use
Player One Neptune-C I
May I see
Imx585 player one Uranus-C
shi i forgot how to do that

ill try again now
wait how do i flip it?
like north up
LOOK AT A F*CKING VIDEO
it doesnt show
am i blind?
i dont see the option to rotate it
doesnt do anything

i think i messed it up
go in this thing (adj)
i am there
no
what do i do now?
bro just watch a videoooo
I did
no cuz the image was flipped correctly automaticly for him
just press n or p to rotate the overlay
and adjust using scope parameters for the scale
OHHHHHHHH
well now it doesnt line up instead
it's flipped horizontaly
isnt that correct?
no
oh nvm
no
i finally fixed it but it doesnt line up correctly
@flint siren any idea how to fix?
move the overlay using the arrows on your keybord
ill try
and please stop pinging for such things
mb
good?
Overlay too big
And bro please just learn how to do it by yourself
i am trying to learn
thats why im asking you
No you're asking for someone to do it for you
i am asking for help how to solve an issue so i can do it myself if the issue happends again
And even if a video doesn't tell you, find another one
Like bro you ain't 6 yo anymore
yeah ofc but i have no idea how to use winjupos so i look up a tutorial and the tutorial dosent help so i ask experinced people for help.
whats the issue?
the issue is you could've watched another vid
true
what is the page up / down?
Then search another damn tutorialšhow do u think yoships learned
One braincell and itās for sending your liquid kids to slovenian nerd
the tutorial is fine i just dont know what the page up and down button is
shut up bro

i have the issue that i cant press page up or page down on any of my keyboards
does that sound like our problem ?
no?
then solve it yourself, i'm no keyboard expert
i did it
ā¤ļø
Ir 685nm and color data derotated!
Right dude
Yoships I would have lost my mind
I commend your patience
Thatās genuinely amazing what camera+telescope did you use?
C8, Uranus-C for color and ASI462MM for mono
@quick cairn you have the same scope as me right ?
And same sensor too
Iām doing jupiter tonight, do you have any advices for capturing or some tips ?
10ms frames, 80-90% histragm, sharpcap planatery stabalization, IR/UV cut filter
100 fps
2 min videos
Amazing, all I needed, thanks so much !
Thanks
ir timelapse š
Goal of tonight is to try and get one of the moons
Is it?
Idk i just didnt want to overexpose io but that Kinda failed anyways
I canāt get mine that accurate
It moves too much
Bounces between 80 and 95 usual
Personally I think so, a lot to me
guys my new barlow arrived because it was finally time to replace the aliexpress 10 usd one hehe, and i had a chance into testing it and i am very happy how it came out!
setup:
-canon 600d unmodified
-Celestron X cel 3x barlow
-Skywatcher 10" Dobsonian manual
1.73 arc seeing
and other factors were just pretty mid
cool
thanks!

Whatās the difference between the C8 and the 8SE?
Besides the mounts
Focal ratio and mount
Some things inside maybe, but not much.
Whatās the focal ratio of the 8SE and c8
Biggest difference may be the secondary holder.
@flint siren in your pfp did you take that picture of uranus?
Yes
Thatās cool what scope and camera did you use?
How does that work?
Composite planetary imaging
The ring is very faint compared to the planet, so if you capture both and you have them at a same luminosity you need to make a high dynamic range image, by processing.
Only difference with mine is that it's a newer model.
Oh cool
Did you use a barlow?
For the ring, no. For the planet, yes.
Whouldnt they both have to have the same magnification?
You can resize one to put it at the image scale of the other.
So letās say you use a 2x Barlow for the planet and no Barlow for the rings. You can resize by 2x if you use the same pixel ROI while imaging and blend them together?
poor yoships
It's plausibly not on the keyboard.
On my old laptop Pg up & down was Fn + arrow keys.
Same here
You can go into your computer settings and change your key commands. So I can set a to be page job if you wanted to temporarily.
1 hour rotation
firee
Which workflow do you do?
Firecapture, autostakkert, Astrosurface and then wave sharp for the gif
You couldnāt see this in the US
It's not a question of ROI but of sampling. Whatever the ROI, f/10 image with 2x will now be at the same scale as an image at f/20.
Right, but to blend the frames in Astro surface, donāt they need to have the same scale?
Like image size
I do it in photoshop, it's not the same in there.
I see
Makes sense
You could also probably use PIPP to resize them to the same anyways
When you shot uranus you used an ADC correct?
Yes
Unless you have one of those like $900 ones that donāt increase magnification at all, doesnāt zwo adc increase sampling by 1.1-1.3x? How do you deal with that?
So to sum it up, you use a two times Barlow for the planet and no Barlow for the rings, and you blend them together by resizing?
But both times you use ADC
No ADC for the rings, the planet was near zenith and since i was in NIR, dispersion did not matter.
Good to know
too bright?
another clear night!
Awesome
thanks!
also ur tips about the seeing helped a lot
i could easly see the differences
between some of the nights
thanks again!
also i have a question for you guys
how long do you make ur videos?
for Jupiter
Depends but I do 2 mins max
I do max 1 minute
thanks
Hidden In Our Shadow!š©øš
I present my 2026 Lunar Eclipse Image! This image was taken March 3rd 2026 in Palm Springs California and is a photo Iāll remember forever! š“
For this image I flew out to California to get the best chance at clear skies and imaging the eclipse like youāve never seen before! @aj.smadi also flew in alongside...
Doneā¦
Thanks
@flint siren have you have taken a picture of Neptune?
Neptune
Imaged the stars at totality
Ah so it's a composite
Wdym
You did mosaic right? Or is it the full disc that fit in camera?
Ye itās a mosaic
Yes
Double eclipse coming soon
so i didn t get an hour of data how i expected but i got 20 minutes and its my first animation!
Nice Looks really good for a first try !
i learned many mistakes from it like when my dslr was low on the battery so i switched it the entire settings reset so i didn t knew what exposure and iso was before
and many other small ones that i will try to avoid
thanks
Making mistakes is good
Then you learn a bunch of things
ofc it is
how can i fix field rotation in planetary animations?
Derotate them in winjupos individually
i am really confused because all of that winjupos thingy can u explain a little?
Good
Then go to image derotation
And put in each single frame individually and load them
It will center the planet
WinJUPOS tutorials
but derotation fixes field rotation too?
Iām not telling you to derotate them
As a whole
Iām telling you to derotate each one individually
Only Input the 1 file at a time
i know
then what
them as in each one, not them as in them all at once
so derotate each one not all at the same time u meant?
thats what i thought
okay good
yeah thatl fix field rotation
let me try doing it i quess
but i need image measurements?
it worked!
but it cropped it a bit
why would it crop it?
right the mesurment files
so it was the image size tab i alr changed that
so i did it for each image
but it doesn t look like it worked
it made some images even more rotated
and some of them have that glow
Do this and click download complete image and then delete the file mesurment and repeat
to each file
thats what i did...
gonna image Jupiter today and try it again
because for now i don t know EXACTLY the hour
what do you image jupiter with
check ur video file
what computer program
i have 3 of them so i quess the middle one
but i have to type the hour into the measurements tab and then into the derotation tab too?
10" untracked dob and a canon 600d
dslr thingy?
you need it precise like to the 10th of a min
like VERY precise time?
most imaging programs allow file names to be saved with exact UCT
but wait
but i dont think you can with a dslr
if i have a video and started it at 0.00 time
and finished at 0.02
so 2 minutes passed
then when i stack it
i would put in 0.01
UCT
go look up how off united central time is for you
and then do the math
dslr is saving this too i think
no
because winjupos has a format
you need to type the time in a certain way
oh that u meant
so the file alr stores the time?
and dslr is that i have to put in one image manually?
For WinJUPOS image derotation, the time format is very specific:
Format:
YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS
Key rules:
Use UTC time, not your local time.
24-hour clock.
Date uses hyphens, not slashes.
Time is separated from the date by a space.
Example:
2026-03-06 03:41:27
That would mean March 6, 2026 at 03:41:27 UTC (the midpoint time of your capture).
dslr doesnt save the time in winjupos format
this is wroong though
damn chatgpt
its not seconds, its 10ths of a min
so 01 is 6 seconds into the min, 05 is 30 seconds into the min
like that
but what those 10ths of a min make into the time saving?
look it up please
there is information everywhere i dont have the brain power for this right now
i just don t understand
what does 10ths of a min has to do with image saving?
its saving like that or what
i will say this as simply as i can
ok i will say it different way
what is this useful for
i understand that like 0.3 of a min is 18seconds
winjupos wont understand your time stamp unless it is in that format
so it doesn t use like minutes, seconds instead it uses minutes and 10ths of it? instead of seconds?
yes
thats very good
is there a good guide or tutorial for composites like ir rgb
Oval BA isn't accurately tracked in ephemeris (like Winjupos and Stellarium).
GRS is fairly accurate however
Interesting
oh so its named Oval BA? cool now i gotta know
Fire
In stelariun the grs is way to big
Voyager I think
Cassini
This map is part of a group release of cylindrical and polar stereographic projections of Jupiter. For the other maps see PIA07783 and PIA07784. (Related thumbnail images available here.) These color maps of Jupiter were constructed from images taken by the narrow-angle camera onboard NASA's Cassini spacecraft on Dec. 11 and 12, 2000, as the spa...
seeing was goooddd i use drizzle
collimation wasnt perfect and some dew just came into my mirror so some halo and ghosting expected š
Jupiter with 200PDS⦠585mc
26 mins total derotation in 60s captures. Best 25% stacked
Nice pic
Thanks this is actually my DSO imaging scope but though Iād swap out the imaging train and try planetary
Nice
Great pictures on your astrobin !
insanely sharp. image loosk clipped tho
You use the 114mm hadley right?
If so then thats insane
Yes, I use the Hadley 114mm telescope
honestly well done
youre pulling a lot out of it
Not that much ig, you can check histogram to see either clipped or not
Yeah
Just looked Kinda non round on the right side
Thank you!
Very niceā¦. What processing flow? You using LSW7?
Excellent details, nice work
No I'm not using LSW7, I'm using astroSurface for wavelets
And winjupos for derotation, I feel winjupos is more accurate and can save ephemeris
Yeah I tried detotating in LSW7 and found it couldnāt cope with 30mins derotation, whereas winjup could. But I do like the sharpening routine in LSW7 even though there is not much control over it
Full Worm Moon set over the California mountains!
Woahh very nice
@somber stratus sorry for the ping but im looking to buy a guiding cam that is also good at planetary and idk if i should buy a 462 sensor thats much smaller but higher fps for planetary or or a 178 and only 60fps, could you help?
These fps stats are for full sensor, but you rarely end up using the full sensor for planetary. The ROI frame rates are what's relevant. 462 is a good cam, but also look at the 678 for instance. 178 is fairly outdated now.
But both would "work" don't get me wrong.
ok, thx for the help man
Yea you will get much more than 60 fps no matter what cam you get pretty much
wdym
If you use a very small ROI, you can achieve very high FPS rates no matter which camera
Like 200Ć200 is very small
Like when the company advertises its frame rate itās usually for the full frame, like tom said, you will probably never use it, so when you crop in on a planet your frame rate will almost double, depending on what your shooting
ok thx
Yep
if this is true, could the uranus c reach 1000 fps
yes
ive done it
ive shot mars at 900
so i have a slowmo cam
if you crop to like a couple pixels
Oh yes
But why
so it didn t work?
its still field rotated
even when i got i think the correct more accurate time
now it worked?
huh
its really weird sometimes but i think i will do all of the images
uhh
why it looks like that on some frames?
i think its again a time thingy
gotta change it
average seeing soo
Did yāall see Damien peach posted about some hate mail, I suspect itās BM. Also he has a 30ā now allegedly
Heās definitely going to use his aperture as an excuse to why his images are so good
Yee saw it too
Itās a shame
At first glance it looks ok if you don't think about the equipment
Nahhh, heās grabbing detail that shouldnāt be possible
The equipment is good, and his data is probably good. But the resolution isnāt right
That's with a 2m CCT
for comparison
I believe it
Look at the white circle storms on the southern poles and compare them
Here is another comparison Christopher Go did
cloud sucks, good seeing tho
yep im saving for 8 inch right now
Awesome man
Whatās gso?
like this one
i think goto is way more expensive no?
but yeah i need to shoot dso like small galaxies regardless
Cool. You can get a hand tracked 8ā dob for around 800$
Itās been confirmed
Itās BM
I also think itās BM, but not sure how you can confirm it without Damien showing the full thing
He showed it to someone that told us in another server
wait whats wrong? im slow
i believe B. Martin uses ai
saw some posts about it earlier here i think
and had some steve looking minecraft profile if i remember correctly
this i saw
ah alr
whats that have to do with anything? š
so you would better recognize him lol
filter IR pass yes yes
Perfect airy disks.
I was looking at Jupiter the other night, and the moons looked basically just like this when I had my eye centered perfectly on the exit pupil
it's very good to see
he also claimed he used a 2.5x powermate with his 30 inch f3 dob, so he was operating at f7.5 with a 585 sensor. - waaay undersampled - something no true planetary imager would ever willingly do
then on astyobin he states its a 24 inch dob, cant even get his lies straight
Such a weird guy
already has lol
he posted a "live" view, that was actually one that he had blended with the final image to boost the apparent seeing conditions. I reverse engineered it and it's remarkably shit. This is what the live view actually looks like. No where near good enough for the results he posted. AI at it's finest hour.
What a fraud.
Thank you for showing this
If he's actually doing that then I need to find another AP person to aspire to their quality. Duif and Tom, I guess you guys are it.
Which you were on that list anyway so ...
He claims 30" f3 dob with 2.5x PM. He'd be at only f7.5 and 5715mm focal length and so could not have physically captured any more details than a properly sampled 14" scope.
yup
just commented that on his astrobin so see what he says!
hopefullu the astrobin judges to see enough doubt cast on him so he doesnt get any more top picks or iotds
I donāt think they will.
They seem to ignore how people process even if you use AI
Your hopes are too high, they have no clue of whatever in planetary.
Still kind of hard to tell with the compression.
Indeed
Very good
thanks mate!
Is ganymede the biggest moon/ object that we can image surface geological detail on the solar system? This time of year?
unless u count our moon or planets
or nebuale
or galxies
This is why you donāt understand winjupos
i do now
atleast for derotation
Resolution difference between 4 and 8", same filter, same processing. Not the limit of the 8" though.
great comparison
Yoo very nice
Nicely done.
Mercury, Mars are obvious winners. Venus you can also image the surface with a 1 micron filter.
But at this very moment, yeah, since the other 3 are poorly placed.
I processed this one for u ā¤ļø
I've heard geologic features are easy to image on Earth.
I'm more of an observational astronomer when it comes to Earth
Planet birb, nice surface detail, not sure if its geological or not
It is trust
awesome
i wanna try live stacking an owl
they stay very still
This is true, I processed this one I just like yours more, still my data but yeah
nice
I like doing that when itās cloudy
Shared some SERs if anyone has time to waste on some mediocre data https://discord.com/channels/794642864218439681/1482795531670388861
Of course this happens when my new camera came in. When ever I shoot planets I go through the hand controller date, location and all that good stuff. When I chosen solor system align it gave me a list of planets to choose from like all the other times but this time it was different. When I clicked Jupiter and centered it I clicked align and it said star polar on then it started slewing across the sky in oblivion. The second issue is that no matter what speed I set the mount at it is at max speed on the left and right. Up and down is the only oneās that listen to command.
Check the locking altitude things
also ask this in #š¤-ask-a-nerd
Is it possible for a 10ā to resolve the cleaner circler shape of the lower 4 storms and the northern pole orange storm and such like Ethan and Ken have? Thatās one thing Iāve wanted to accomplish the most. Tom does it the best
First photo is probably the best seeing Iāve had. And still they are blurry
just got my artificial star, i think the mak is out of collimation
Definitely slightly off but not terrible
yeah
a 5 inch mak
thats why the moons of jupiter always looked like this...
i gotta recollimate it ig
Well that can be due to many things but
artificial star is the best method for a mak iirc
I see
Atleast in this first photo if you keep it to this level of focus you can eyeball moving it to the right some, then defocus or focus more and fine tune
yeah
It's not that bad tbf, your airy disk is still circular.
Still better to have it collimated though.
okay, i will recollimate the thing then
ill use this focus position to achieve concentricity here, its fine, right?
Yea
also, would i benefit from putting a 2x barlow to increase precision of my collimation? Or would it introduce me to other optical errors a barlow may give
okay, thanks again.
time to install ocal to get the concentric rings aligned with my out of focus star
Oh nvm it only works for ocals
Some nice data if anyone would like to play with it
Very nice yeah
back in my prime baby
the weird thing is that the mak doesnt have locking screws
only 3 push and 3 pull
Reprocess from the 25/02.
very nice
love the look
hmmm maybe i should do jupiter tonight then
Cool comparison for cloud movement, this is 6/3
phone with jupiter 3 inch telescope
I think Iām gonna try imaging Jupiter with my Touptek 585M tonight
I have lrgb and IR in my filter wheel
⦠and sho but well, they arenāt planetary filters
the green channel will look the best
bad seeing with a 16"
very good
Not sure if this is my best or not but itās my recent best past few months
Looks good
???
worms are eating jupiter from the south
Been a while, that's for sure.
honestly expected a bit more sharpness from tonight but im still quite happy since i havent done planetary in a long time, this is just luminance, havent processed the color stuff yet
kinda missed the peak jupiter season ngl
and i feel bad abt it
just realised i could have done it better, gotta reprocess everything tommorow
Goodluck.
jupiter is like santa
comes back every year
Peter
Nice
The one in ~5 hours? Yeah, I'm attempting it.
yep
im gonna redo it tonight tho
with a color cam now
nice! i gotta do my first long timelapse
im too lazy to process mono lrgb stuff
No real need to image in luminance btw, standard RGB is fine.
You often lose resolution due to seeing and the large bandpass of the filter.
Plus, since the planet are high SNR targets.
how did i t went?
and is it normal that Kallisto looked very similar to Io shadow?
it was like a black circle
Terrible seeing, didn't even set up the camera. Could barely see Callisto visually.
Yes, it's very dark. This is normal.
oh i didn t know it was THAT dark
Just naturally dark
thats so cool
sad
ok so after a check i got 148 videos 1 minute each
so i could stack 1-2 videos per stack and do a timelapse
but i am too lazy to do it rn
Yea just drop them all in autostakkert and run it
so i done all previous 40 videos each...
All you have to do is analyze the first one
wait and thats it?
Ye
i don t have to select any option for batch?
gonna do that tomorrow i quess
Assuming all your files look relatively the same right?
i mean yeah
no brightness or any changes
Ye
Then just batch them
Yeh
if i alr started doing them all one by one and was alr like 40% of the way and i would find out that it has a batch option i would be freaked out as hell
i don t know if i will fix the field rotation in winjupos
its gonna take some time to do all of them
but can all the images use one measurement?
You would probably have to manually align and rerotate each frame in like photoshop or some editor
I mean you just gotta rotate it every time
but it will probably be the same in time like winjupos
yeah so for each image
Idk
Yea
and i have to log and put the time in both derotation and ims
i will think about that when the first without field derotation are gonna be made
Why donāt you shoot with winjupos file names?
dslr...
u meant that it gets the time from the file?
Yea like with fire capture and sharp cap it automatically named the final something that winjpos can recognize and then auto inputs the date and time and all the fun info
gonna send
i did a quite good progress now
10" untracked skywatcher
and 3x celestron x cel
so 3600mm
and a canon 600d
unmodified
Nice nice
What Barlow do you guys use? I was thinking about either a 2.5x 1.25ā powermate or 2x X-cel for my C8
I use a 2
Single stack
update the first 58 ones are gonna have to be deleted
they are just trash
wobbly as hell
but then the seeing stars to calm
Heavy?
good?
the preview is a bit worse tho
thanks!
its my first ever moon transit and a shadow transit
and its a longer timelapse i never done any longer
only about 30 minutes
and thats 2.5h
Iām using a 16ā tonight? Any advice for different in a 10ā?
Jupiter, obviously
First is my last attempt with his 16ā F/5. Second is good seeing with my 10ā
Use same imaging train if your 10" is also f/5
Sounds good
Is anyone imaging this?
Captured with 3 inch telescope
It's very low right now
Still dope
damn jupiter in march is smol
oh holy jupiter
Got it a little later on.
Io's shadow had left the disk by this point, but Ganymede's shadow took its place
Clean
This is fantastic work Tom. Your processing is clean. Ganymede detail very fine.
results from the 16", colimation was slightly off and sweeing was bad, but hey, experience is progress.
Best data I have ever gotten
10ā skywatcher
BA Storm on the southern most band on the right
this looks very good man good job
what scope
dayum
Holy moly
it looks oddly crisp
am i imagining things or is it sharper than usual?
Its probably cuz its not fully denoised yet
i like it a lot this way
It will look crispier with grain in it
Yeah
It is OSC vs the normal IR, it's inherently higher resolution and less prone to diffraction effects. Can cause it to look sharper.
- not properly denoised as Ken said
as mentioned it looks sharper and i feel like it looks "more real" if that makes sense due to the noise
literally the same data, you just need to sharpen it.
LSW works on raws instead of sharpened stacks
i need to revise some planetary work then
thank you
its nice to see raw vs final result
great data
What Barlow should I get for a skywatcher 300p if I have 2.9 pixel size
4x
It depends
On if you use an ADC or not
Probably a 3x with an ADC,
Itās F/5 right
No matter the size of the scope you want the same setup if itās same focal ratio
F/4.5
2.9 x 6 =17.4
Or 7 for perfect seeing is like
2.9 x 7 =20.3
So I would stick between those 2 numbers F ratio
4.5 x 3 x 1.3 =17.55
4.5 x 4 x 1.3 =23.4
3x better
Wooow
3x w/ ADC lands just right.
And you can do it w/o AI Upscaling and enhancement.
Also really stop hogging the good skies. I don't want you to not have them. I want them too though.
For what itās worth the stack from this video is far far above any of the other ones from the same session. Such a fleeting moment of good seeing
Patience is key I guess
Dude I completely missed planetary season because of clouds and schite seeing
Kinda peeved that since I got the Onstep I haven't had a good night.
@somber stratus Great data!
all the imx224 cameras are overpriced and discontinued or not in the US (import tax and tariffs)
wonder why brands stopped making planetary cams with pixel sizes between 3 and 4. sampling wouldve been perfect with a 2-2.5x barlow
settled with an imx662
Too big
Look forward to the stack
gosh, that live view looks better than most stacked AstroPhotography images
I'm developing batch processing in Eise.app. Post Processing can handle all stacks in one go, changes are reflected on all stacks. And the "Align Stacks" button centers and scales all images so they are as equal as possible. not as good as winjupos obviously. Let me know if you want to test the new feature, I can send you a test URL privately.
Throwing this amazing data in Eise immediately gives me a bug because your moon is so sharp and big. It centers and crops with the moon as part of the "interesting data", which it of course is.
Note that is a compressed mp4.
images come out of backdoorastro lately are wild asf. I came here from reddit on one of backdoor astronomy's post that mentioned this discord and holy hell his Jupiter is good!
hes using a bigger telescope now right? I always thought his processing on his 16 was too harsh but hes getting that down i think and i checked all the details on his jupiter they are real asf anyone else saw?

damn you know ball as well
i dont get how anyone can feel proud about faking their own images
what is everyones problem with him? All I see is over processed images on real actual data he seems to capture.
heavy topaz ai
Reddit doesn't need to come in here and talk down on someone
its more than meets the eye situation
Where
How is his latest jupiter topaz?
Whats the difference with that and that guy in here with a 24 inch dob when Backdoorastro has a 30 inch
i think this thread had a conversation about him last week hold on
I dont like gossip. I see good images and he processes real data differently
Im here cause some wacko posted a comment on his reddit post about this discord
are you a brian martin stan?
He has a 30 inch dob and seems to knwo what hes doing thats all I care about. checked his twitter hes also autistic so i dont care to talk badly on mental health
ive been watching his shit on reddit a long time
...hes banned from reddit
read from here (i turned ping off)

his account is deleted
at the bottom this discord is mentioned
then why is he going viral on telescopes reddit
He's going viral with his impressive jupiter image that looks like a crisp version of some of the good ones in here too
How is that image fake is what i want to know
well, the data is real but the processing involves AI processing tools which alter the data. AI is well known to hallucinate data and even introduce things which shouldnt even exist.
i matched his latest jupiter to that tom guy above and other people he encouraged people to match and the details are all there thats why im confused but i do see a genuine cap
huh
whats that mean
look it up
like i said i dont need to look anyones private business up i am only talking about their photos I dont dox
doxxing is wrong
?
what is this stolen data talk? is that supposed to mean something?
what do I look up
you told me to look it up
Are you asking me to look up someones personal business and doxx cause if its anything other than planet photos I dont care
no one is being doxxed.
is this brianās burner acc
im from reddit this discord was mentioned there will probably be more people what are you on about
brians image is going viral so theres prbably going to be more than just me showing up im here cause of reddit i dont need you or anyone bringing any of that to me im curious on his images and want to see whats going on
not yet im kind of wanting to get into it
im just seeing how other people process and i noticed they all do it differently
i found this discord on rbians reddit post if im not welcomed i can leave.
ok so what program does he use and does it have a major affect?
i notice he does have actual data i even saw some of his videos so im wondering why use ai
bc it takes 0 skill to ask chatgpt or whatever to "improve" the image
is processing about using any tools or is there some sort of rule i would need to follow
i might be too old then for this i dont even know much about the ai or chatgt what have you.
so is brians data real and enhanced is that a good way to put it?
his tiktok has a video of him at his scope and hes done live shows on saturn i remember seeing them. im well older than him but he captuired me
a little bit real but the fine detail is often stolen or just generated
has anyone tried to replicate it it sounds fascinating
well...
sheet
replicate what?
i think brian had the 16 inch dobsy
i need like 5000x zoom
send pics
wow you have a 24 and 25
@coarse aspen give this person protostar premium pls
my old self can't get that large I think an 18 is good. My grand kids would love it too
nvm zegery
wha why
yes bob you will be enlightened
Well, I mean, Brian seems to be good as well as others I like everyones way they process their planets im a bit torn on which one I would like to try for myself. I think it would be boring if everyone processed the same and I look forward to trying to get into this im very inspired. Thank you though it has been a nice chatting with you all. I am glad reddit pointed me to this chat.
enjoy your stay
Thank you I do look forward to learning more and this seems like a proper place to start. Aside from any gossip I do enjoy what I am seeing in here.
I must ask does he come in here or is he a member? Would be swell to introduce myself.
dont think mr martin uses discord
Oh bummer š well I shall stick around and learn more if I can. Really liking the stuff in here and Toms videos are so nice that must be a joy to see when going out with the telescopes
you'll see tom in here every now and then
Wonderful. A joy to be in here. I am thankful for the warm welcome.
imagine the debates if we can get him into this server
I came here from his reddit post maybe he will show up unless he doesn't go into these things I dont know. I read on his twitter he is an autistic introvert so maybe not. It says that on his account. He seems very nice from the live shows I was in with him he's a very nice person so I hope he comes in here
are you him?
No. I am far too old to be him or many of you
I live in Texas. I think he lives in California if I am not mistaken.
Where in Texas are you?
Just an old man in his 60s looking to retire on something to do at nights. What telescope should I get if I am looking for maybe say an 18" dob?
Hi, Ethan. I'm in North Dallas.
where did he mention the discord
some kid from here mentioned this place
Someone in the comment section mentioned this very discord it was not him directly but it was someone in the comments and I found this discord through a search on youtube. I am glad to have found that comment it seems nice in here. I would like to learn more
@candid nexus The problem with him is not necessarily the AI processing, but how he reacts to criticism with intimidation and threats of lawsuits
he is an objectively bad person
this made me think of this website https://www.hubble-optics.com/UL18g.html
Award Winning 18" Premium GoTo Ultra Light Dobsonian Telescope
lowkey i want one
My grandson is autistic and he somewhat acts similar when he is through trauma. Has anyone asked why he acts this way? He doesn't appear this way in his live shows which is surprising to hear of this.
bruh the situation was calmed down
I like it!
Planetary imaging thread strikes again
Neat! How's the weather been up there?
Should be a good location for good planetary.
The weather shifts where I am some hours its sunny and clear then a nasty thunderstorm can roll through or a large hailstorm. But over all it is nice. I don't like the high clouds that can either come in from north or the gulf at times but I get by. I would like to do planet image and deep sky with a new telescope for my quieter days to come. Are you a fellow Texan, Ethan?
just a couple of ways he acts completely unhinged in peoples DMs. The issue is not his autism, but his narcissism and trying to control his public image. He puts on a friendly face but lashes out at minor criticism, and tries to intimidate people if they donāt delete negative comments.
He does not deserve an audience
wow
he also has interacted with children before
also posting sexual comments with no reason under female astrophotographers
Also made borderline pron content on YouTube which had millions of views
If I may. I have seen people do that to him first and if he has what my grandson has its a defense mechanism which I can't hate a person for. The best thing anyone can do at that point is give that person time to cool off or have a reasonable conversation with them. I would let them control it since they are the ones uncomfortable. My grandson has social issues so I would suspect him to be the same.
I disagree, some people should not be on social media.
Ok but like-
Yoy cant be going around throwing lawsuits at people.
how are you defending that
Im not interested to hear his personal or other situations. I am sure it isn't anything of the likes of other very bad people like Jeff Epstein who is all over the news.
If you have bad defense mechanisms you should see a psychologists, go offline, and stop harassing people in DMs and X.
I am defending it because Brian is a human being who seems to be struggling with anger and it might even be a bad past that is keeping him from loving himself. My grandson has issues too very bad anger problems and I blame his mother but that is a different story. I just like his planets and I think he will find a way to be better
Is it him that harasses them or does someone instigate it? Usually people like this lash out when they are instigated. Has there been proof that hes the one that out of the blue attacks a person because I have yet to see it
I do not care about that
Like I said I think hes struggling and maybe people should reach out to him and help him because if he is and people are bashing him I can see why he loses his temper. He is a human like the rest of us.
thereās no excuse for his actions
Him lashing out and defending himself is not a bad action there is always a reason even I would have my reasons if I was forced to defend myself. I have seen some of his posts but chalked it up to him defending himself from other people.
Did he committ a crime or is he just losing his temper and hurting people's feelings? If hes losing his temper then I don't care. Autism hits very close to home for me as my grandson has special needs and if brian has special needs then he should be given some form of care. There is always a reason. Sorry for my rant, this is a sensitive topic due to my own grandson.
I have a great idea. Why don't you all maybe ask him what is wrong? Gossip about him doesn't help. Maybe I will ask him.
Have a sense of humor. That looks like a harmless pun.
We know whats wrong.
