Yeah generally it's a great tool, and the problems we attribute to AI generally originates from humans, either the user (that does not understand the limits of the tool) or the companies behind them.

flint siren

#

May be important to say that it's an HDR composite.

stuck basin
#

Composite planetary imaging

flint siren
#

The ring is very faint compared to the planet, so if you capture both and you have them at a same luminosity you need to make a high dynamic range image, by processing.

quick cairn
#

I would expect that with different scopes

flint siren
#

Only difference with mine is that it's a newer model.

flint siren
#

For the ring, no. For the planet, yes.

stuck basin
flint siren
#

You can resize one to put it at the image scale of the other.

quick cairn
#

So let’s say you use a 2x Barlow for the planet and no Barlow for the rings. You can resize by 2x if you use the same pixel ROI while imaging and blend them together?

thick heron
#

It's plausibly not on the keyboard.

#

On my old laptop Pg up & down was Fn + arrow keys.

quick cairn
#

I see

#

#

You could also probably use PIPP to resize them to the same anyways

quick cairn
flint siren
#

Yes

quick cairn
#

Unless you have one of those like $900 ones that don’t increase magnification at all, doesn’t zwo adc increase sampling by 1.1-1.3x? How do you deal with that?

flint siren
#

I don't PepeHands

#

I don't have the tools to build something to counter act on it.

quick cairn
#

So to sum it up, you use a two times Barlow for the planet and no Barlow for the rings, and you blend them together by resizing?

#

But both times you use ADC

flint siren
#

No ADC for the rings, the planet was near zenith and since i was in NIR, dispersion did not matter.

how can i fix field rotation in planetary animations?

quick cairn
quick cairn
shy jolt
quick cairn
#

Wdym

#

Winjupos is easy to use

shy jolt
#

i loaded all the images that i want to rotate

quick cairn
#

Good

#

Then go to image derotation

#

And put in each single frame individually and load them

#

It will center the planet

quick cairn
shy jolt
quick cairn
#

I’m not telling you to derotate them

#

As a whole

#

I’m telling you to derotate each one individually

#

Only Input the 1 file at a time

shy jolt
#

i know

shy jolt
quick cairn
#

them as in each one, not them as in them all at once

shy jolt
#

so derotate each one not all at the same time u meant?

quick cairn
#

yes

#

put 1 file in at a time

shy jolt
#

thats what i thought

quick cairn
#

okay good

shy jolt
#

but i just wanted to know

#

if derotation fixes field rotation too

quick cairn
#

yeah thatl fix field rotation

shy jolt
#

let me try doing it i quess

shy jolt
#

it worked!

#

but it cropped it a bit

quick cairn
#

why would it crop it?

quick cairn
shy jolt
shy jolt
#

but it doesn t look like it worked

#

it made some images even more rotated

#

and some of them have that glow

quick cairn
#

šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

#

ill show you

shy jolt
#

what did i do wrong

#

do i have to type EXACTLY the hour i made the image each time?

quick cairn
#

Do this and click download complete image and then delete the file mesurment and repeat

#

to each file

shy jolt
#

thats what i did...

quick cairn
#

it should have worked

#

btw winupos uses UCT

#

United central time

shy jolt
#

gonna image Jupiter today and try it again

#

because for now i don t know EXACTLY the hour

quick cairn
#

what do you image jupiter with

quick cairn
#

what computer program

shy jolt
#

but i have to type the hour into the measurements tab and then into the derotation tab too?

shy jolt
quick cairn
#

first

#

ohhh

#

shoot.

#

yeah thats gonna be tough

shy jolt
#

dslr thingy?

quick cairn
#

you need it precise like to the 10th of a min

shy jolt
#

like VERY precise time?

quick cairn
#

most imaging programs allow file names to be saved with exact UCT

shy jolt
#

but wait

quick cairn
#

but i dont think you can with a dslr

shy jolt
#

if i have a video and started it at 0.00 time

#

and finished at 0.02

#

so 2 minutes passed

#

then when i stack it

quick cairn
#

i would put in 0.01

shy jolt
#

what hour counts for the hour that the image is made?

#

thats what i thought

quick cairn
#

go look up how off united central time is for you

#

and then do the math

shy jolt
quick cairn
#

because winjupos has a format

#

you need to type the time in a certain way

shy jolt
#

oh that u meant

#

so the file alr stores the time?

#

and dslr is that i have to put in one image manually?

quick cairn
#

For WinJUPOS image derotation, the time format is very specific:

Format:
YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS

Key rules:

Use UTC time, not your local time.

24-hour clock.

Date uses hyphens, not slashes.

Time is separated from the date by a space.

Example:
2026-03-06 03:41:27

That would mean March 6, 2026 at 03:41:27 UTC (the midpoint time of your capture).

quick cairn
quick cairn
#

damn chatgpt

#

its not seconds, its 10ths of a min

#

so 01 is 6 seconds into the min, 05 is 30 seconds into the min

#

like that

shy jolt
#

but what those 10ths of a min make into the time saving?

quick cairn
#

look it up please

#

there is information everywhere i dont have the brain power for this right now

shy jolt
#

i just don t understand

#

what does 10ths of a min has to do with image saving?

#

its saving like that or what

quick cairn
#

i will say this as simply as i can

shy jolt
#

ok i will say it different way

#

what is this useful for

#

i understand that like 0.3 of a min is 18seconds

quick cairn
#

winjupos wont understand your time stamp unless it is in that format

shy jolt
#

so it doesn t use like minutes, seconds instead it uses minutes and 10ths of it? instead of seconds?

quick cairn
#

yes

shy jolt
#

ok that makes sense

#

more precise i think

quick cairn
#

again

#

on winjupos

#

there is a help bar

it explains everything

If you use a very small ROI, you can achieve very high FPS rates no matter which camera

Like 200Ɨ200 is very small

low oar
# low tendon wdym

Like when the company advertises its frame rate it’s usually for the full frame, like tom said, you will probably never use it, so when you crop in on a planet your frame rate will almost double, depending on what your shooting

No real need to image in luminance btw, standard RGB is fine.

You often lose resolution due to seeing and the large bandpass of the filter.

What Barlow should I get for a skywatcher 300p if I have 2.9 pixel size

quick cairn

Probably a 3x with an ADC,

It’s F/5 right

No matter the size of the scope you want the same setup if it’s same focal ratio

silent mesa
quick cairn
#

2.9 x 6 =17.4

Or 7 for perfect seeing is like

#

2.9 x 7 =20.3

So I would stick between those 2 numbers F ratio

#

4.5 x 3 x 1.3 =17.55
4.5 x 4 x 1.3 =23.4

3x better

I'm developing batch processing in Eise.app. Post Processing can handle all stacks in one go, changes are reflected on all stacks. And the "Align Stacks" button centers and scales all images so they are as equal as possible. not as good as winjupos obviously. Let me know if you want to test the new feature, I can send you a test URL privately.

Throwing this amazing data in Eise immediately gives me a bug because your moon is so sharp and big. It centers and crops with the moon as part of the "interesting data", which it of course is.

If I may. I have seen people do that to him first and if he has what my grandson has its a defense mechanism which I can't hate a person for. The best thing anyone can do at that point is give that person time to cool off or have a reasonable conversation with them. I would let them control it since they are the ones uncomfortable. My grandson has social issues so I would suspect him to be the same.

main flume
#

I disagree, some people should not be on social media.

candid flare

Yoy cant be going around throwing lawsuits at people.

rain ember
#

how are you defending that

candid nexus
#

Im not interested to hear his personal or other situations. I am sure it isn't anything of the likes of other very bad people like Jeff Epstein who is all over the news.

main flume
#

If you have bad defense mechanisms you should see a psychologists, go offline, and stop harassing people in DMs and X.

candid nexus
#

I am defending it because Brian is a human being who seems to be struggling with anger and it might even be a bad past that is keeping him from loving himself. My grandson has issues too very bad anger problems and I blame his mother but that is a different story. I just like his planets and I think he will find a way to be better

#

Is it him that harasses them or does someone instigate it? Usually people like this lash out when they are instigated. Has there been proof that hes the one that out of the blue attacks a person because I have yet to see it

main flume
#

I do not care about that

candid nexus
#

Like I said I think hes struggling and maybe people should reach out to him and help him because if he is and people are bashing him I can see why he loses his temper. He is a human like the rest of us.

rain ember
#

there’s no excuse for his actions

candid nexus
#

Him lashing out and defending himself is not a bad action there is always a reason even I would have my reasons if I was forced to defend myself. I have seen some of his posts but chalked it up to him defending himself from other people.

#

Did he committ a crime or is he just losing his temper and hurting people's feelings? If hes losing his temper then I don't care. Autism hits very close to home for me as my grandson has special needs and if brian has special needs then he should be given some form of care. There is always a reason. Sorry for my rant, this is a sensitive topic due to my own grandson.

I have a great idea. Why don't you all maybe ask him what is wrong? Gossip about him doesn't help. Maybe I will ask him.
