The game already had pvp vs the ai controlling other people's teams. Which was already shit, but they made it so one of the normal modes is replaced when the live pvp runs

So arena assault, this gauntlet of ai matches, 7 in a row with new teams each match, goes away when pvp comes up. Which means you just don't get rewards for that week if you don't wanna struggle with the live pvp

They added a battle pass at one point that costs as much as genshins, but they locked QoL shit behind it (rewinding a turn in battle, a hard pity of 40 pulls in most banners, more summoner supports, and most importantly buffs to old units, where they get a "resplendent" skin that adds +2 to every stat and gives them new art)

It does suck too because I used to really enjoy this game. It was unique in the way you could build characters by taking skills from another unit and putting it on someone else. It made it so you could build your favorites and use them pretty much in any content, even if they were pretty old or weak.
But now it's like, we get new skills added to new units like every two weeks and they keep powercreeping even those. It became use meta or suffer, because even in pve content, the new units are so broken they can decimate you.

Resplendent buffs already aren't enough but like, it also is completely random who gets one basically, and if you miss someone you want, to buy the resplendent you have to pay 10$ to have the pass, then it's like 4.99 per resplendent skin.
