While not a defender man, I do understand the fundamental goal of a tank within these games at least.

Fundamentally, your goal is to mostly control the pace of the fight in a way that allows your team to engage on the enemy safely. This generally means initiating, or being the first to make the opening act in a team fight, and utilizing crowd control to interfere with the enemies ability to act against your teammates.

As of now, this is the main game plan for snorlax, the thing with the other defenders is that... Well they don't really tank that well.

Crustle is more so used as a split pusher, utilizing his high speed and durability to zip around the map to grab objectives and get frequent scores.

Blastoise is more of a bruiser, while he still does usually initiate the fight, he's more focused on dealing group damage then protecting the team through crowd control.

And finally you have slowbro, who is at best, a compliment to another defender, he can use surf to slightly stall opponents and can you use both telekinesis and his unite move to suspend a single Target for a bit.

Most mobas don't require much technical skill. It's usually just let all of your abilities rip and do big damage. The skill is making sure you CC them before you use your other abilities
