That’s not to say Hoyo doesn’t have (or at least try to have) soul in the IPs they produce, but I ain’t sugarcoating that they’re the main face of the above right now. And with how big they are, some more spoiled apples are only going to get more spoiled and lack more self-control over this. It’s been the dawn of ages ever since I can recall someone spending an entire mortgage worth of money just to max out their favorite character and gamble it all away.

And with HSR’s relatively ‘aggressive’ character release schedule? Some are inevitably gonna be even more compelled given some of their motivations.

But even if we don’t go to those extremes, Firefly’s prolly gonna die out somewhat in overall interest eventually unless its devs and writers actively keep making her relevant. That doesn’t mean FF is bad at all tho. And she’s new enough that she won’t have to worry about that for a while. If this were hi3? At least the game could cycle back to focus on her sooner after a break from her. But within the next 7 years of 2 new 5*s per month at this rate? Who can say? Only time.

and one of his previous companions before the world reset learns the truth of the world resetting from one of the bad guys

so he becomes evil as well

Genre’s not so much the issue for me really. It “works” for certain characters, like Nicole’s embodies a lot that she’s all about, even down to the lyrics. The vocals on the other hand and/or how they sync up with the lyrics just aren’t always easy on my ears at all. I’d even go so far as to say Grace’s feels even more superficial compared to Nicole’s.

Otherwise I’m very content with their score and music elsewhere like in combat or casual overworld sections. Their character story teasers are still consistently among my most preferred over anything I’ve seen from Hoyo to date.

My initial impression of her:
Airheaded, kinda cutesy appearance, but a very quick-on-her feet scout/strategist kinda vibe underneath the airheaded/cute persona.

I really liked the way she instantly swapped over to a military style analysis of Sampo at a moment's notice. The gap it created was very nice, and also to me kinda created this idea of her being a "weak girl who relies on superior awareness/analysis to deal with situations".

Turning her from that to "I'm just the shy alter ego of an edgy mecha suit war machine" was such a disappointment to me personally

just go to his basic atk, choose his traces, and theyll let you do his trace stuff without unlocking it
