This is probably a dumb question, but how do you get the lineart in a color that matches the coloring? Do you originally do the lines in those colors, or do you do the lineart in one color and adjust it afterwards?

hmm ill show you my process !

after sketching

ill put my base colors down with my sketch/lineart layer on multiply

that way the lineart color doesnt obstruct the coloring

but it still has color in places i dont like

so after im done with the base

I clip a layer to the lineart (oh also turn it basck to normal)

this has different names in differnty programs but is in basically all programs

I think it's just because I have a weird ability to draw characters basically from memory after I draw them once

I miss a ton of small details but that can be patched up with a reference

and then grab a reference and make everything flow down from there
