I mean that is pretty balanced. Shield-popping is a pretty niche application and after the shitshow that were Fatui shields Mihoyo has pretty much given you a dozen ways to destroy a shield of any given element

Skirk's story paragraph made it clear that back in the days of Khaenreia this technique was literally seen as a parlor trick. Completely ineffective with extensive training allowing you basic manipulation of a single element nowhere near the potential of a fresh vision.

And then Surtalogi came along and said "lmao watch this" and just casually began using all 7 elements at combat grade on his first try. The lore makes clear he is a complete and total anomaly and prior to becoming monsters the Khaenreans just couldn't do much elemental fuckery full stop. Even Skirk is the result of possibly centuries of extensive effort

Though, that does make me wonder how Surtalogi will be designed if he's ever playable

Maybe they'll just have fun with him and have him randomly use 2 elements with the ability to cycle through them, or causing random elemental reactions if he hits an enemy with a proc on them

If there is one character you should just consider giving a design review every year and possibly overhauling, its the Traveller. Especially since nobody would give a shit if he got reworked from top to bottom right now because nobody fucking uses any part of Traveller except Pyro and Dendro for "too broke for archon" reasons

He should get neat upgrades throughout the story, he should get new fighting styles for every element, he should get better kits for all elements, he should get the ability to at least hot-swap between 2 elements, and he should have an additional page in the vein of constellations which just keep track of buffs he gets throughout the story. Like the bigger AoE we just used with Skirk

But you'd pretty much want to incentivize your players to make the traveller a staple of your exploration team

Overworld acknowledges NK as a Snez region. The implications of that and how it plays into with vision casings has far more to do with the Lunar powers there at work than not.

Nod Krai is geographically a Snez region still just as much as CV to Liyue.

I do have to say, the main archon questline is very well paced. Meaning the way the Traveller storyline developed. They set up the reveals of the central mystery very well

Nothing is implied about Hroaptatyr because literally nothing is known about him, other than his name being the literal inverse of Pierros current title. It would also make sense, as the infamy of the Sinners happened during the calamity, being respected individuals that nevertheless decided "fuck this". And who would you in the event of a abyssal calamity call the Wise?

With "The Foul" we also know as a fact that the power shared between the Sinners wasn't some kind of internal project of the dynasty, as "The Foul" was seen as a pariah by the authorities

Another thing that we have to note is that it is pretty much confirmed that he was on a first name basis with Vedrfolnir. By now it is pretty strongly established that anyone who didn't get a ring by Vedrfolnir was warped by the erosion a long time ago. And it's a bit of a stretch to say that Tsaritsna would've been able to carry out abysal manipulation

1. He got a ring by Vedrfolnir
   2)Vedrfolnir ain't shit and he just kinda figured it out
2. Tsaritsna did it through literal deux ex bullshit

I dunno; we have absolutely no lore on 2 of the Sinners; Hroaptatyr and Rerir.

Rerir is literally called the "lunar avenger" in some translations so I'm pretty sure he'll turn up in Nod Krai, possibly as the leader of the Lightkeepers. While Hroaptatyr has no lore, but what we do have is an inexplicably erosion resistant Khaenri'ah who used to be a big deal until his fall of grace, whose current title is Fool instead of Sage, and seems to know a lot about stuff like forbidden knowledge

And we already know that you can simply turn abyssal energy into elemental energy using the Seven Serpent technique

What I mean to say is that Rerir could simply create a fake vision like Venti did and pretend he just suffers from Abyssal corruption from fighting with the Wild Hunt, while using the Seven Serpent Technique to immitate elemental energy

Nicole wouldn't want to break the de facto neutrality of the Hexencirkle, and Arle was capable of simply disconnecting us for the server as a flex after holding us back in a 4v1 so I don't think they're gonna have the Traveller roll up and rock Columbina's/Dottores shit. Voynich won't try shit, the Treasure Hunters ain't shit. Varka isn't going to declare war and made that much clear, and I don't think the Frost Fairies will show up as a real aggressive force, more like a defensive third party

They need something that is an actual threat. Something that can rock their shit right back

They are neutral relative to Teyvat politics

How so, they seem to be treated as some kind of natural force whose bullshit you just kinda have to put up with, but isn't outwardly malice or warranting of aggression

I think the plot structure of Nod Krai will be Lightbringers are "our guys" with the Knights and Frost Faeries as supporting parties. Voynich would be a deuteragonist faction acting as information brokers and mcGuffin salesmen, the Wild Hunt acting like a natural disaster, disrupting all parties, and the Fatui will this time again be the out-and-out antagonist party until it gets schismed near the end of the Nod Krai plotline

Lore leaks are bullshit until proven otherwise

The 3 Fatui who are just seen as completely psychotic and they seem to be forming a bloc this time around

She made it clear she was holding back, we weren't shit, and it was never even close.

Most character stories aren't well enough written to really work without the traveller. It was just Lyney, Wrio, Neuv and Furina that worked that great.

With the Fontaine AQ we kinda ran into a car already running down the mountain and there wasn't really much we could do to stop it

The only genuinely superb character writing I've seen since then have been Capitano and Mavuika

Whomever is leading the writing at Mihoyo does tragedy and nostalgia really well

You could perhaps make a point in how she tried to prosecute Lyney for murder, but this wasn’t driven by her doing it out of any bad intent despite the airs she puts up.

She was also as “defensive” as she was in 4.1 bc she had actually exhausted every single resource to find alternative ways to save for some from the prophecy to the point that only her faith was sth she could fall back on. She’s not responsible for the unprecedented loss of lives that happened up to that point at all.

The prevailing narrative at the point of our arrival is that she has been slowly mismanaging fontaine and only seems to be interested in distractions; panem et circenses, and does nothing in the realm of competent governnance

From an every man’s perspective, yes.

But the only real pressing issues Fontaine was having then was synth crimes/smuggling (which you could only do so much against with how crafty they were getting) and living conditions in certain sections of Fontaine like Fleuve Cendre.

Furina is a gril that had to be tossed into Fontaine’s lap but not with the qualifications of being a “good leader” despite how much she was separately trying to help it. Which is also is different from any “sins” she can be held accountable for.

If you want a good true evil character, you first of all need to make them truly intimidating. This is where most writers fumble, because it is very difficult to both write an intimidating foe that is truly cunning, clever and ruthlesss while also writing your story in a way that defeats them. Usually they add in some kind of weird fixation or incompetence that can be exploited

I mean, in all fairness, most people tend to at least become passable at a job they weren't qualified for if they held the position for 5 years.

She had her for 500. You'd expect her to build up some level of competence. If she wasn't extremely mentally ill for most of these 500 years

Well, Furina lacked any competent support system too even within her courts. She had to be presented as someone who had her shit together when she actually didn’t. Her full focus had always been on dealing the prophecy besides this. Even with someone like Neuvillete as her “right hand man” he was just an appointed judge/magistrate.

There are some things I would agree one could reasonably hold Furina accountable for, but not entirely. It’s stuff that extends to how flawed the basis of Fontaine’s justice system and policies were already set up at that time.
That were out of Furina’s control, nor could she influence without potentially disastrous results.

There would presently be zero cause for any antipathy between Dainsleif and the Fatui. Which is a problem for when plotlines all converge, narratively speaking

Narratively speaking, the way the Fatui plotline is being directed would see there be a compelling argument for us to side with the Tsaritsna. So we need a narrative counterweight, and its pretty clear who that will be. This was strongly implied with the very first story trailer

So what reason would Dainsleif have to oppose the Fatui, the ones rebelling against the force that destroyed his home country? A very easy and obvious way to generate the conflict would be to make the second in command of the faction someone he has completely disavowed

I for one think it would be a great narrative flourish for Dainsleif to reveal that the Fatui, for all their talk of being against the Abyss, actually use abyssal energies as a vital part of their military capabilities

Again, narratively it works out the best if these 2 had some kind of volatile history

3. we all know again that it's towards the end of unified civilization that nibelung arrived and began war of vengeance

Golden city existed within unified civilization and it's fall is also not because of nibelung but PO again this we know

And it's only after fall of golden city that angles were cursed

So it makes sense that only after this nibelung arrives and begin war of vengeance which led to destruction of rest of unified civilization like enkanomiya

It is probably long because of || 2 character story quests merged and the 2 invasions||

There are of course unrelated dialogue (chill dialogue) but I don't mind it,if things get serious quickly,it would feel forced

Also you would have to work around area puzzles and domain which is another reason
