The other obvious pick is that the Captain sacrifices itself, but that would ALSO be boring because it is ALSO telegraphed. They literally had an entire scene explicitly setting this up

Mihoyo so far has been far more straight forward with the Natlan questline, it mostly centering about honorable characters without much of an affinity for smoke and mirrors, because the big issue with always going for the subversion and mystery is that eventually, your mystery and subversion begins to eat at your plot because it will be so expected that everyone hones in on the smallest detail, making the twists increasingly more contrived just to avoid detection. Going back to my theory of her turning out to be a "twist villain" of sorts, maybe thats why she's trying to erase the Lady of Fire from existence. I've said it here before but I think the person that she's talking to at the end of the Natlan teaser might be her, and she says to that person (the weird blue flames) that "we're gonna create a new fate together"

Desert? Deshret brought Forbidden Knowledge and again the nail that was there didn't do anything, it didn't even purify Apep despite the fact it literally fell on her
And now for the Night Kingdom it didn't do shit either
The only time we actively saw the nails work was in the Chasm when they transformed the Forbidden Knowledge into the black mud
