Personally, my current theory right now in regarding to that doesn't have to do with Ancient Names but rather "true" names aka the Archons Goetic names. The concept of "true" names has been a thing for a while now. For example, the Goddess of Time's name is Kairos, but her "true" name is Istaroth. That name in particular is important, because the scribe in Before Sun and Moon says that he does not dare to write her "true" name, which is why he wrote it in reverse.

Mavuika's true name is Haborym, and the name of the Pyro Archon in the CBT of Genshin was Aym. Aym and Haborym are different names for the same demon, but I feel like Aym fills in the blank name better.

Plus, there's also the 4.8 quest in Simulanka with the Sumeru characters, that quest with the book and the names and what not. The big plot twist of the quest was that the first name Kaveh circulated was the killers name, and the reason he circled it was because it was the name of a historical figure that was written wrong. Then everyone else who got the book saw the circled name, and to prevent others from getting spoiled, they started to circle other names which led to the whole confusion
