What are you guys's thoughts on genshin's storytelling compared to honkai's

I think there's a huge problem with almost all of the characters and their story quest

Their character arcs have already happened even before the events of a story quest, so usually they don't have a lot of room to grow

Story quests are rarely seen from the POV of said character so there's barely any opportunity to be more attached to the character as if it feels like they're intended to only be a gacha character that you are able to interact with sometimes and that's p much it

This hurts the game a lot because the game always sees from the view of the protagonist (Has personality but is almost completely silent) and Paimon (really obnoxious, could've been done better but they just can't )

Paimon has potential sure, she may have her own secrets and depth but that doesn't change that her position on the story is just someone really infuriating to be with who just speaks for the traveler, do bad jokes and keeps asking questions

She is so heavily juxtaposed with many serious parts of the game's story

the storytelling I think is heavily neutered by the format of the game as well

There are a lot of characters but too much to give each their own depth

Honkai does the thing where they have the same characters but with different suits which allows for more growth

I don't even find 2.7 and 3.0's story a big improvement

sure they're a little less boring but still really hasn't stood out

Itto was awkwardly forced into the 2.7 quest

He's a plucky comic relief guy ruining the chasm story quest

At least the worldbuilding and lore is a thing

Keep in mind that we are comparing a game with open wolrd to a game without it,so obviously they can't put to many voice to the game, otherwise it would take way to many storage if we combine all important world quest, traveler being silent is alright

She got the name calling she deserved in the Aranara quest and then came back full force as the most unlikeable character in the Sumeru and Festival quest line

At this point I fully expect that when ultimately Aether reunites with Lumine, Paimon is 100% going to ruin the moment with some uncalled comment about mora or food

yeah i think they go overboard trying to make paimon "sassy" sometimes but she just ends up sounding tone deaf at best or a bitch at worst

theres a time and place for paimon's little wisecracks and "cute" comments and i feel like during serious moments she should just shut up

i felt like them sending her away during the serious moments during venti and tighnari quests was a nice touch

Venti through the new event being in the wind and can take shape of anything.
Morax before we know he is indeed Zhongli
Raiden having 2 puppets (Scaracmouche and Raiden Shogun)
What if we say, Nahida is actually just a decoy? And the real Archon is Beizuo still... Hear me out because this might get a bit more complicated than we think it is.
Nahida can be a decoy, keep in mind that what I mentioned above about Morax Venti and Raiden, notice what patterns are we going through? being decisive or in short we're being gaslighted by the fact that each of the archon does something to hide their true identity
Morax looking like a Dragon to the people of Liyue
Venti is the wind and can take shape of anything he desires to look like.
And Raiden having a puppet under her command.
In other words we can say that Nahida is actually the decoy that Beizuo left because he doesn't want to be known at his current state due to him being very injured.
We can assume that we're being played by the game itself because incase you did the story in Liyue, Ganyu does leak the idenitity of the Dendro Archon. She says he is the Youngest yet being the youngest yet the one who was injured.
Again these things can change and it might be a speculation but in reality I still feel like that indeed the real Archon is Beizuo and he's decoying his way out of Sumeru and putting Nahida as the front line of everything that would happen.

Let's say this as an example when we mention that the Slimes are a representation of archons. What does that mean?
If we look at the archives in the game it means that we actually can say that infact, each Slime does represent an archon
The Electro Slime has 2 forms (1 Purple and 1 Yellow) Like Ei and Shogun or Raiden
Anemo Jumps and flies in place like venti
Geo is a massive shield (Zhongli)
Dendro has 2 things that it does perfectly well, a decoy and hunting it's pray very well.
In other words, when we look clearly it uses it's head as a decoy. Who's the head in Sumeru? and when we say head it means the leader of sumeru as it's shown to us.
It is infact nahida but when we see the bigger picture we see that there's actually something else that is hidden.
In otherwords it actually might be in the end Beizuo who is the dendro archon and putting a decoy to throw his identity away from people much like the other archons
